…opposition is required …against every partisan simplification, every ideological agitation, every blind emotionality; against seduction through well-turned yet empty slogans, against autocratic terminology with no room for dialogue, against personal insult as an element of style (all the more despicable the more sophisticated it is), against the language of evasive appeasement and false assurance … and not least against the jargon of the revolution, against categorical conformism, and categorical nonconformism….

Josef Pieper [i]

One holds on to the hope that there is a party of good people who are also intelligent, wise, and well-informed. But large parties, especially in this egalitarian age, are not so good, not so intelligent, and very generally unable to understand facts (let alone identify the relevant ones). Among the chief abusers of language and falsifiers of reality in today’s world are professional politicians; and that includes the leaders of large political parties. Flattery, noted Pieper, consists in tickling the vanity of the listener. What makes flattery sinister in this context is the ulterior motive of the flatterer.

Pieper said that the listener, in this situation, “is no longer a fellow subject. Rather, he has become … an object to be manipulated, possibly to be dominated, to be handled and controlled. Thus the situation is just about the opposite of what it appears to be.”[ii] The listener, on hearing the flattery, thinks he is being paid respect when – in fact – “his dignity is being ignored.” This is how our American (and European) public is treated every day – by the press, by educators, by politicians, by large corporations, by advertisers, by media companies of all types. And, also, by agents working for the communist movement.

The masses are now thoroughly disoriented. And they are going to remain disoriented until reality hits them upside the head. Unfortunately, a blame game will follow on the heels of today’s missteps. Someone will begin chopping heads. Whoever begins this head-chopping will probably be chopped in turn. This is how head-chopping progressed during in the French Revolution 1789 and the Russian Revolution of 1917. The logic of tomorrow’s revolutionary chop-fest has already been laid out. Revolutionary demagogues are already inciting the poor against the rich, the blacks against the whites, women against men, and everyone against the Jews.[iii]

A leading method of inciting people against each other is found in conspiracy theories. Revolutionaries routinely incite the masses against the financial system and the U.S. Government. At the same time revolutionaries are infiltrating the financial system and government. It is mind-boggling that the same agent provocateurs are both inciting hatred of the government while taking over the government. Yet there is method to this madness. Everything is now a conspiracy, from the Apollo moon landings to the price of gasoline. Consequently, we are facing a renewed antisemitism which hides itself in catchphrases that the gullible public – in its historical illiteracy – no longer associates with antisemitism. The new demagogues also wear a patriotic mask, mumbling under their breath about the “Rothschilds” and the “evil capitalist insiders.”

A flexible and confusing assortment of conspiracy theories have been built up over time. Many of the people advancing these “theories” have already begun to lionize the diminutive former KGB lieutenant colonel (Putin). More and more it is whispered that Putin is against the New World Order. He opposes the Banksters. He has joined battle against transexuals and pedophiles who now fly the rainbow-striped American flag. More and more the unstated secret thought of the Alex Jonesifiers must be: We are all stooges of Putin now. While instinct impels denial, action impels an odd embrace – reflected in the confused ramblings of Tucker Carlson, whose pilgrimage to Moscow took away the left’s monopoly on useful idiocy.

The stooges of Putin are numbered in the millions. They are people who nurture resentments. They are victims of disinformation, convinced that global capitalism (i.e., globalism) seeks to pauperize them. They do not see complexity. What they see is a cartoon, in black and white. Having erroneously supposed that capitalism was an ideal system, many have fallen into despair because capitalism is imperfect. This has led them to the opposite extreme; that is, the belief that capitalism is the main enemy of good people everywhere, and that Vladimir Putin is their natural ally (perhaps, even, their liberator). Arising with this theme, ever so delicately, we find among the conspiracist demagogues of our time an anti-Ukrainian and anti-NATO animus, which dovetails nicely with their qualified regard for President Putin. If America is evil and decadent, then Russia must be good and healthy. It follows, logically, that today’s semi-literate conspiracy theorists[iv] believe the CIA killed JFK and blew up the Twin Towers (after tempting Eve in the Garden of Eden). It is that same CIA that was, for many decades, the nemesis of the KGB. What this signifies is nothing less than the victory of the KGB, which probably has gotten control of the CIA.

Our larger problem, of course, is that the American left and right are two perfect halves of a self-destructing whole. The left has little regard for America’s economy, social order, and border; the right has little regard for collective security, Ukraine, or the real balance of power. Thanks to successful Russian active measures against the right, many “patriots” think Moscow should have an easier path for murdering and pillaging Ukrainians, even as they follow Moscow’s line by deriding Ukraine as “corrupt.” Which of these geniuses has noticed that Ukraine, with minimal help from America, has successfully checked Russia’s vicious and unprovoked military expansion into Europe? Which of these geniuses has noticed that his own physical wellbeing is tied to Ukraine’s victory, and to NATO, and to the trading system NATO gave rise to – which has formed the basis of America’s security and prosperity for eight decades? If the weakened North Atlantic edifice should collapse following the collapse of Ukraine, the United States would almost certainly find itself cut off and isolated in a state of strategic inferiority. This is not the “splendid isolation” envisioned by George Washington. Rather, it would be the not-so-splendid isolation of an encircled, blockaded, and militarily besieged country.

The Hamster Wheel of Destruction

It was the anti-fascist Italian philosopher Augusto Del Noce who pointed to a villainy in Hegel’s philosophy, which depicted negation as a creative force. According to Del Noce, Hegel was the first to idealize destructionism. It is therefore no accident that we see destruction advancing on every side (e.g., the destruction of fatherhood and motherhood, the destruction of unborn babies, the destruction of common sense, the destruction of law, rank order, and religion).

The philosopher Eric Voegelin wrote of a destructive and murderous type of fool, born out of alienation. This is the fool who lusts for power. Del Noce, who wrote a book on the crisis of modernity, suggested that all this foolishness was rooted in materialism, owing much to the reification of the individual as “one who possesses things, who reduces himself to a thing, and reduces others to things.” Del Noce suggested it is our relationship to things (i.e., wealth and other instruments of power) that is now primary rather than our relationship to God.

When we look at our dysfunctional politics, which is built on our dysfunctional spirituality, we find almost no real content. We find words, of course, but they are largely empty or even contradictory. What has superseded content is image, attractiveness, and personality. One can pronounce any nonsense with authority, provided it is done by an attractive person. Del Noce wrote, “What is on sale in the first market are personalities, in the second commodities.”[v]

In this way, noted Del Noce, we reach the highest degree of reification. “Indeed,” he wrote, “if the concerns of an individual center on being as desirable as possible, he will give up his I. In fact, we cannot even speak of the I as an unchangeable reality, because it must be constantly changed according to the principle of desirability. Making reification universal is the same as denying ethics.”[vi]

This is why we have unprincipled rulers. Such people may talk about principles, but nobody examining their speech or actions can find anything of substance. They command the political stage because of an image – the bare reflection of “personality” – prepared and marketed.

In America the businessman has become the model for everything. Say goodbye to the statesmen, who has been pushed offstage. Surely, statesmanship should not be reduced to selling and buying images and personalities. Yet this is what happens when you elevate the economic dimension to an absolute. “From this perspective,” says Del Noce, “efficiency becomes the only value.” The resulting destruction of soul and intellect, in person after person, follows the ready pattern of modern narcissism’s denial of the true self. It dehumanizes and degrades as it winks at violence in the service of worldly ambition. It is no wonder that Hegel’s creation through destruction has been applauded on every side. The negation of the negation, as it were, brings down the old order, promising career advancement to murderous fools.

As Del Noce pointed out, we are now at the brink of an abyss. The disintegration of politics into a contest of personalities has wrought incredible destruction. It is what Del Noce calls “the metamorphosis of the bourgeoisie.” The middle class and its mentality, previously limited to trade and commerce, has been transformed into a ruling class that has effectively destroyed statesmanship – turning it into a caricature of commerce. By providing a better material life than the Marxists, the bourgeoisie have corrupted and dehumanized and bureaucratized themselves and their state. Consequently, the state no longer defends society. More and more it becomes society’s employer, which simultaneously assumes responsibility for feeding and caring for everyone. Being efficient at production, this new state was able to provide amenities to the public. The sorry old Marxists could not keep up. If, as Del Noce tells us, “the bourgeoisie has defeated the revolutionary spirit through the greatest extension of historical materialism,” the Marxist counterstrategy was to multiply wants to bankrupt the bourgeois state.[vii] The bourgeoisie had created a plutocracy which made them feel guilty, so their largesse knew no bounds. “Let us buy the masses off,” they said. “Then we can live in peace.” Lacking the warrior spirit of the old aristocracy, they had no concept of treason or internal subversion, yet they feared revolution. Yes, that’s right. Give the Marxists money and tenured professorships.

If you want to know why the communists turned to Antonio Gramsci, and why sexism and racism have become more important levers than class struggle, thank the bourgeoisie. Communism could not overcome the bourgeoisie by promoting a worker’s revolution because the free market delivered a better standard of living. What could the hapless communists do? They had to adapt and innovate. The communists originally depicted themselves as opponents of bourgeois reification. Yet they were themselves bourgeois. Marx himself was bourgeois! In fact, communism is a bourgeois disease. So the communists, fittingly, reified themselves!

Consequently, what we have today, on the right and the left, is an unstated materialism – an unstated readiness to destroy what is truly good for the sake of something supposedly better through a process of serial negation. But negation (i.e., destruction) cannot bring anything into existence. It merely ushers things out of existence. And so we find ourselves on the hamster wheel of destruction. The fault, say the revolutionaries, belongs to the bourgeoisie. But they are the bourgeoisie.

History has many jokes, and some are in very bad taste.

We have to understand that a well-crafted brand of stupid patriot is needed by the left so that the left can prevail; and the left must prevail so that Russia and China can prevail over the left (i.e., first the domestic left prevails over the right in America, as stupid and clueless as the right is about its true domestic enemy; then China and Russia run over the American left, as stupid and clueless as they are regarding foreign enemies).

  1. Hi Friends, the latest conversation with my relatives from Poland perfectly illustrate and explain the process of self destruction the so called “middle class” has subjected itself to and to which our friend Mr. Nyquist refers in his excellent essay.

My relatives from city of Wroclaw in Western Poland are very intelligent, highly educated, successful, conservative and patriotic Catholics. Their son and daughter in law are equally intelligent, educated, successful, conservative and patriotic Catholics. They are also very ambitious and hard working. They work hard and long hours thus have little time for their lovely, six years old daughter. Their little girl is trying compensate for lack of quality time with her parents by making herself addicted to TikTok and no amount of argument from horrified grand parents ca persuade her to part with her personal CRETINISER.

There is, obviously, a danger that as she grows up, she will be trying to fill her emotional void by associating herself with the circles whose members are making themselves addicted to much heavier stuff than TikTok.

What her otherwise loving parents fail to realize that they are raising a future voter for the monstrous regime that has now taken over Poland and will never give up power without a major bloodshed. When she reaches her symbolic “adulthood”, she will be brainwashed enough to accept not only drastic fall of living standard but also any draconian restriction of her personal freedom in exchange for the illusory safety offered her by the parasitic regime.

So it is not only inhuman perfidy of the communist BEAST but also our own incomprehensible stupidity that contributes to our demise.

The described above example made me realize that, I’m afraid, this process is, perhaps, no longer reversible.

    Regards – Bogdan

    1. When the daughter grows up, she will be dissatisfied with Western way of life. It is merely a matter of time that she will become a communist. Imagine this case happening to millions of kids across the world. The global communists are raising the new generations of Red Guards or Young Pioneers through social media.

    2. Hi

I lived in Poland for 6 years from 2010-2016 before coming to Peru. I lived in Katowice, Skała (The white rocks of Skała are something out of a fantasy story.), and near Gdansk. Even found a few old mortar parts in the forests (got to see the packs of wild boar free roaming) near Gdansk. Beautiful country.

Back in 2002 when they were still running the night trains (Warszawa-Amsterdam) and you still had to get a stamp in the passport to cross the border. I met a beautiful Polish woman and her son on a train traveling from Poland to Berlin.
She lived in Świebodzice. Very kind person and spoke good English.

When I returned to Poland a few months later I decided to surprise her and just dropped in.
So she decided to surprise me by taking me to Książ Castle for lunch. Wow, what a day and evening. The castle and the surrounding forest were absolutely enchanting.

I also used to frequent Poznan. Lots of fun there.

Had one hell of a camping experience among the brown bears near Zakopane in the Tatra mountains. We got stuck on a peak near the cable car and had to shelter there. Real lightning of the gods evening. Some struck pretty close. After being blinded by the flash you could see the ionized smoke trail and smell the ozone. Some hit so close we could feel the static.

I do miss the food and beer. Nothing like a whole isle of beer and miod.
Just loved the shops dedicated to kiełbasa.

In Katowice we’d climb the cherry trees, apple trees, pear trees and in August collect the grapes.
On weekends we’d go from Gdansk to the beach in Jastarnia and stop at one of the farms on the way to pick strawberries. And collect Chaga mushroom to make tea from the Birch trees in the forests between Gdynia and Dąbrowa.

I made good friends in Poland but most have left, they had a good idea about what was coming.

      -Bill Freeman

      1. Dear Bill, then you have had a very nice stay in Poland.
There is no doubt that since Poland had freed herself, at least partially, from the whip and the boot of communism life improved immensely, especially under the leadership of Law and Justice Party.
Unfortunately, the good times produced weak men who decided to give their support for the same bandits, thieves, vandals and traitors who were tormenting the Poles both under communism and through the first years after.
The tusk’s regime is working furiously to dismantle the legacy of the former, conservative leadership, cancelling major infrastructure projects, like the push towards the nuclear energy and Central Communication Hub, a gigantic international Aeroport near Warsaw and signaling cuts in military spending even in this volatile situation and many, many others.
We still hope that this criminal coalition called “Citizen’s Platform” will break up as many of their supporters begin to have remorse about the choices they have made.
However, before that happens, the current regime will manage to inflict an enormous damage to Polish way of life and the Polish economy in particular.
I will be traveling to Poland this year as well, however every time I do so the probability of the conflict engulfing my country of origin is growing and my chances of safe return are diminishing. Anything can happen.

        Regards – Bogdan

  2. I have, also, to laugh, albeit bitterly, at my own naivety.

I was recently busy writing letters to my Australian, conservative senators and journalists trying to inform them about the discussion taking place in the cyberspace about the possibility of severe global cooling, but not only, caused by the Grand Solar Minimum.

I wrote also few letters to Polish conservative public figures about that subject.

Unfortunately, as I observe their struggle against the Global Warming scam, they seem to be totally unaware of the processes occurring withing our solar system and their implication for our wellbeing and even the very survival.

So far, I haven’t received even a single response, neither from Australia nor from Poland.

It is highly possible that their secretaries, upon opening my email and reading few sentences draw the conclusion that I’m trying to report some kind of Sci Fi, catastrophic, flick that I have just watched and never bother to pass my message to their bosses.

Pretty discouraging but I will keep trying nevertheless. At least, I’m doing something.

If I do nothing, I have no right to complain.

    Regards – Bogdan

    1. It’s always good to tell people about global cooling because, when weather events begin to hit home, people might be able to connect those events with your words and avoid the ridiculous belief that global warming results in cooling because we are heating our houses and driving cars.

      1. … or are exhaling or, God forbid, farting right into the atmosphere (or keep eating meat from ever-farting cattle). “How dare you…”

  3. Panel Discussion via The Centrist Inc.

Loudon: “The main front in the (Ukraine Russian) war is the US Congress and the US public opinion.”

Rud: “Russia’s war on the US is an insidious, corrosive, disintegration of society to which the west capitulates inch by inch until societies freeze up.”

Nyquist: “NATO is failing – it is the small countries that are preparing for war.
Russia is raising new brigades and has placed nuclear weapons in Belarus.
Their deterrence is reminiscent of Vietnam.”

Lopez: “The American people have zero counter-intelligence awareness and our leaders are terribly lacking. There are tens of thousands of military age Chinese already here inside the homeland awaiting orders”.

Loudon: “The Ukraine conflict is a battle for the world balance of power and is being closely watched by our enemies”.

  4. Excellent essay, Jeff. I have started listening to https://m.youtube.com/@INSIDERUSSIA/videos. He grew up in Russia, moved to the US for 7 years and then moved back to Russia. In 2022 he left Russia for good to dodge the draft and moved to Uzbekistan. He does not blame the US for the war he blames Putin and has started a group of Russians and Ukrainian’s to spread peace. People like Armstrong blame the war on the US when it sounds like people in Russia blame Putin. The people of Russia seem to be anti Putin and the US is becoming pro Putin, craziness.

    1. I remember trying to tell my friends in US about the war, which was about to happen with Russia attacking Ukraine, and they were telling me it is all fake news and shown me videos of this guy Konstantin, who was also telling it is all fake. From that time on I dislike him. He said since that he is sorry about those videos, but I wonder if he is just camouflaging. At least the damage to perception of my naïve american friends has been done.

      1. So you think Konstantine is promoting disinformation? I was unaware that he said the invasion of Ukraine initially was fake. Or have I misunderstood?

      2. Jeff, I reply to myself, because I can’t reply to your comment. I guess there is a limit on a number of replies. Yes, you understood correctly. Below is a link to Konstantin’s video from 2 years ago. The whole subject, the theme of this video is fake news. In his interpretation fake news is everything that is against Russia. And he said that he is ashamed of his video. But I just don’t trust him https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6cyvJU5YFA&t=3s

      3. Thank you for that information. I can always rely on people on this site to be discerning.

  5. “THE HAMSTER WHEEL OF DESTRUCTION”

This part of the essay reminds me something about the Mongols after conquering most of the known world. Most of their elites were becoming content to settle down and become civilized bourgeoises. However, the military aristocrats despised this meekness and constantly staged more conquests beyond the borders. This were the campaigns against Western Europe, Egypt, Arabia, India, Vietnam, Japan, and other parts of Asia. In the warrior-culture of Eurasia, it is unacceptable to become meek and content with your lives peacefully. They all have a drive towards violence (in the Marxist term, Permanent Revolution) to keep the society forwards through using misery to dominate the peasants and promote brutality as a mean for peasants to be inspired to move upward into nobility. This was extremely opposite to the Roman and post-Roman aristocracy in the Western world. It is a fact that China, India and Russia are being ruled by descendants traced back to the nomad-warrior aristocracy.

These people love communism because of their militant aristocracy nature. I believe this is largely due to the harsh climate in the past that forced their ancestors to become violent. Genghis Khan’s father was murdered and his family was almost left to die in the vast grassland of Mongolia. Of course, Genghis Khan will be permanently angry to resort using violence as a mean of protecting himself and promoting his elite status. Europe’s climate was pastoral, so it encouraged people there to focus on developing science and technology towards making lives better. Later, the West became imperialist due to the capitalist drive towards more profits but it was actually due to the feudal aristocrats having mercantilist fear of their Western economic competitors getting resources to gain upper hands. It was largely paranoia and grandeur of mercantilist feudalism that drove the New Imperialism which was economically considered a mistake as it didn’t improve capitalism in Europe much better. The US didn’t engage heavily in imperialism but it still emerged richer in the end as the capitalists of US saw through economic folly of imperialism. It is unfortunate that global communists exploited the past folly of Western aristocrats to basically rally almost of the world against the West permanently. Meanwhile, the non-Western ancestors were perpetually violent and thinking warfare all the times but I sympathized with them due to harsh environment. However, the world has advanced technologically better now as everyone can move away from primitive warrior-culture but the communists decided to do “Permanent Revolution” to subjugate everyone in the end.

    1. Interesting. I had a disturbing conversation with Mr. Wang of Lude Media Friday evening. Of course, this will be made into a transcript for next week. He spoke of the Ukraine War being used to mobilize Russia and China, to give them military experience and insights. He said the Chinese are saying, behind closed doors, that the Ukraine War is to last a long time so they could learn from it, develop new tactics and weapons. Ukraine is a military science laboratory where new methods of warfare can be tested. Chinese generals talk of the war lasting five years or more, which is incredible. I do not know whether to believe this. It is something to consider, together with this testing of our Alaskan air defenses. What purpose does this aggression serve? Is it as straightforward as we think? There is also the war of nerves aspect, and the Russian propaganda aspect. I never would have believed so many “conservatives” would be opposed to holding back Russian aggression in Europe, especially when no American lives are at stake.

      1. This tactic has been employed numerous times in Chinese and Asian history. War of attrition with political manuvering characteristics. We are too occupied in Western thinkings that why we didn’t forsee the fake Soviet collapse being an ultimate deception trick of all times.

I am only dumbfounded on why Russians chose to use Ukraine as a battle lab for future warfare. The perfect battle lab to test NATO is Moldova or Poland. For Russia, Ukraine is geopolitically vulnerable against them unless Moldova and Poland are under control of Soviet puppets good enough to continue The Long Deception plan that Russia saw no reason to punish them, unlike Ukraine. They could have finished off Ukraine before Zelenskyy taking power through annexing Odessa to start making the country landlocked. It was revealed that Obama administration paid off Russia to prevent it which solidified our common belief on Western communists betraying us.

Mr Lude is not only correct here about China and Russia. I also think that our Western traitors also benefit from the war through corrupt, profitable contracts under private contractors whom are most likely compromised by Russia and China already.

      2. Russians openly declared that one of their purposes in Syria was to test weapons and to eliminate old stocks of it. So war as a testing ground is very believable, but it is not the only purpose.

This war has many levels. When I get lost in many theories and interpretations, I go to the top level of interpretation, which is Satan fighting against God. Oppression against freedom. Lies against truth. Ukraine for me is a symbol of Israel. Because there is a lot of blood of Israel in Ukrainian people (maybe from the Israel tribes who went North). All Ukrainian revolutions were not from a leader, but from ordinary people.

When journalist Vitaliy Portnikov went to protests in Moscow and in Kyiv, he saw huge difference. In Moscow protests he knew everybody, who came out. Those were the same intelligentsia. The nation would never raise up. In Ukraine he never knew a person standing next to him. Because there were a lot of “normal” people, who were moved to come out.

Ukraine is being held back by the West exactly how Israel is being held back now in their war. Amir Tsarfati, a jewish christian, whose TG channel I follow, said at first, that this present war of Israel is not the last one, prophesied in the Bible, because in the last one Israel would stand alone without anyone supporting them. But now it looks more and more like that Biblical one, because everyone is turning away from Israel, like they are turning away from Ukraine. All of this happens because people all over the world are losing their moral compass by turning away from God.

  6. Just a note to Alex Benesch. As far as I can tell, he is welcome to come to the U.S.. He would be a great addition to our country.

    1. He is certainly welcome, but his exodus would by symptomatic of the larger response to worldwide Communism: a retreating, a contraction, a fleeing, as stronghold after stronghold falls.

  7. One indeed wonders how in the world it has been possible for the “Russians” (who ceased to be Russians in 1917, lest we forget) to turn an entire political camp (i.e., the “conservatives”, who sadly no longer seem to have left anything to conserve) into an armada of “pod people” (akin to the 1956 film, Invasion of the Body Snatchers) – pod people, who act as if remote-controlled or completely lobotomised. How can’t they SEE what everyone with some degree of common sense (rare as such individuals may have become) can see: If it looks like a Bolshevik, goose-steps like a Bolshevik, and shouts like a Bolshevik, then probably (if not to say: certainly) it IS (it MUST BE) a Bolshevik!

The answer of course lies in the fact that people don’t think any more. In order to be able to properly think, you first need a good and solid educational foundation, a reliable frame of reference, an exact stock of knowledge and understanding, especially with regard to history. That’s more or less gone. (And aren’t “history buffs” highly suspicious anyway?) You also need a willingness – nay: an urge – to want to know the truth and the courage to stand up for it. That’s pretty much gone as well. Ours is an age of horrifying indifference as well as spinelessness (which naturally comes from the disappearance of any conscience by way of losing any faith in God). Finally, what you need is time, enough time and peace of mind to be able to PONDER AND CONTEMPLATE! But that’s gone out the window altogether. The overall “acceleration” of everything has reduced everything to ridiculously brief headlines and soundbites. And we wouldn’t want it otherwise, would we? Keep it simple! Keep it shallow! Don’t waste our precious time (time so much better spent to go and “make money” or to “have fun”, in fact: to “amuse ourselves to death”, as Neil Postman once put it).

The result is a collective of empty vessels, empty brains, waiting to be filled with “content” and desperately longing for guidance. And so, content (read: ideology) is provided and guidance, sure as heck, will be in place, with everyone marching into their own destruction without realising any of it. Under Hitler’s National Socialism, the merciless phrase du jour was “Gleichschaltung”, with 80 million Germans (or most of them) neatly brought into line and looking up to their new messianic lodestar, Adolf Hitler. But does ever-vain and unconscionable Tucker the Sucker care? No, he doesn’t. Will he ever denounce his Faustian pact with Moscow? Very, very unlikely.

    1. Tucker the sucker is a very good way to describe him. Empty people do deeds and suckers create a vacuum for the great empty void of tomorrow.

    2. I love old slow films, saturated with meaning and encouraging contemplation. Especially Tarkovsky’s. This is a piece from “Solyaris” with a beautiful Bach prelude. Such a contrast with modern junk movies accomodating short attention span. My relatively young friends in England in the 90-s already could not handle this)). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPUxjPVQ6hA

      1. Had Andrei Tarkovsky (1932 – 1986), who was by no means an anti-communist, truly fallen out with Soviet communism when he left the USSR in1982, he would hardly have been awarded, posthumously, the Lenin Prize in 1990. After all, not even under Gorbachev’s deceptive perestroika, enemies of communism were praised, and they weren’t. But thanks anyway for your little instruction in Soviet cultural history, so to speak.

      2. Not all people are able to discern the evil of the communism. I know Christians, who think it is great. My dad was a member of the Communist party. He was a highly moral person, took no bribes, and his behavior towards people was totally Christian. So, yes, I do like some art made during Soviet times by Soviet people. And whatever Tarkovsky thought of that ideology, he never preached this ideology in his art.

      3. Dear Valentina, the movie “Solaris” is based on the excellent novel written by the best and the most intelligent, in my humble opinion, Polish Sci Fi writer Stanislaw Lem. Lem has managed to smuggle lots of anti communist messages through his works, especially those of lighter statue like “Robotic Fairytales” for example.
And yet, in order to be able to begin his career as a writer and then prosper, his first Sci Fi novel “Venus – The Morning Star” was a drooling praise of alleged technological superiority of communism over the West. However, he was, at that time, a young prospective writer so, considering his later achievements on the field of Sci Fi literature that is easily forgiven.
        Regards – Bogdan

  8. When reading the essay, I could not help but be reminded of Deuteronomy 31:20 “For when I have brought them into the land flowing with milk and honey, which I swore to give to their fathers, and they have eaten and are full and grown fat, they will turn to other gods and serve them, and despise me and break my covenant.” (ESV) A “god” is anything that a person puts as most important in his life, whether riches, power, ideology, possessions, etc. So the people of this country have grown rich, and fat, and have forgotten God, and grown lazy in their thinking, pursuing the “good life” while looking for “bread and circuses”. I do what I can to wake them up to the communist danger that is coming, and they think I’m nuts.

Even in the churches 2 Timothy 4:3–4 fits, “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.” The truth is hard and unpleasant. It demands action. But so much in society has become shallow, not hard, even among much in the churches. It’s much easier to listen to myths, conspiracy theories, focus on eschatology, simple almost slogans, than to take the whole message of the Bible to heart. And to look to see what is actually happening in the world, even within our country.

Jeff, Jimmy from Brooklyn, and a few others are doing what they can to wake us up from our slumber, but how many want to be woken (not “woke”)?

    1. People only think deeply about these things when times are hard. In America, there has never been war for most peoples’ lives, there has always been jobs, and the standard of living has been comfortable. There are games on the weekends and every vice is provided for. Over time, this creates a comfortable delusion. This delusion will not be pierced until the comfortable times disappear. The Russian Communists know this, and thus their delicate task is to keep the robots comfortably asleep for as long as possible, while the nation is looted, invaded, and staged. The time that should alarm you is when times are so bad that your average Joe is waking up – this will indicate that the murderous Communist regimes no longer have any need whatsoever for the average American robot, and even more alarming, are no longer frightened of the consequences of his awakening either.

  9. any thoughts on the Smolensk plane crash Jeff? This Tusk guy seems like a right nasty piece of work..

    1. I think Tusk is a nasty piece of work. I suspect the Russians caused the Polish president’s plane to crash, and then Putin was personally in charge of the investigation. Instead of discovering the facts, the Russians withheld evidence. Tusk went along with this.

    2. If I am not mistaken, Tusk was going to be on that plane, but he took a different route? I can’t find sources now, but I remember that then it looked as if he was warned not to board that plane. He was a prime-minister at the time. If he stops investigation, he is afraid of being found out. Or is he blackmailed?

      1. He seems Tusk has been a friend of Moscow, whatever he might say. Blackmail is not necessary in a case like his. He is alive by Russian allowance.

      1. China is building huge projects in Peru.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XADnKdlyty4

        https://dialogo-americas.com/articles/china-gains-foothold-in-peru-with-critical-infrastructure/

It’s likely China. Castillo coup was similar to Allende’s coup, an entirely misdirection project from the global communists. The communists accused the US behind the Peruvian coup but it wasn’t true as China expands their projects in Peru. The communists don’t have usage for idealists, while the usage for corrupt realists is tremendous. It is far easier to control corrupt ones through bribery and blackmails.

  10. @Xeno Man, have you some sources about this statment? It is a fact that China, India and Russia are being ruled by descendants traced back to the nomad-warrior aristocracy.

    1. I have a few examples but it is impossible to trace everyone because the rulers of the East have thousands of descendants who now act in high positions in society that we can’t see. China and Russia were conquered by the Mongols and some of nomadic tribes in the past. It is obvious that they will have nomadic bloodlines in the aristocracy. India was conquered by the Mughals who were traced to the Mongols, and some of captains of Indian industries have Mughal blood.

You can take a history book to figure it out and compare how their modern leaders similar to their ancestors.

  11. That the war will last other 5 years sounds very strange to me. First of all Ukraine is going to collaps now, furthermore why do the Russians try to stop the supply of weapons to the country? It will be a better laboratory to fight against an enemy which is well equipped. We have to consider also the public opinion in Russia and the fact that a war is very expansive…..

    1. Yes, I was surprised by this claim. I do not think the war in Ukraine can last more than another two years at most, and if supplies are not forthcoming collapse could occur at any time. Ukraine cannot hold out with shortages of artillery shells, with no more American help. I do not believe Biden will help them, if he can blame the Republicans. Given an alibi. The problem with raw intelligence is the wrong interpretation we often attach. A fact misunderstood can be as bad as a counterfactual.

      1. However, I am more surprised that Ukraine was chosen as a testing ground for weapons. I originally thought Russia would want Poland because exterminating the Poles is far more important than genociding Ukrainians whom most of them have sympathy with Russia. It is not the case with Poland as Poles hate Russia since immemorial times. I suspect that the victory of Donald Tusk suddenly died down the anti-Polish rhetorics in Russia.

Aside from testing weapons in Ukraine, Kremlin is using the war to threaten its puppets and soon-to-be puppets in the EU to obey or die. As a result, we are witnessing a silent European Spring where many Russian communists elected their puppets. Austria, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland have fallen under communist controls. Excluding the already-communist ones in Germany and France.

    2. Forget Ukraine, the US government will go bankrupt before 5 years are up.

  12. I think that the war going on into 2027 is plausible with then all hell breaking loose as in WW3 happening.

      1. I wonder if it is not in some way connected to the goal of the destruction of the Western financial system. The dollar and the debt economy has proven more resilient than many thought, and yet now we are not far off from a literal US bankruptcy, as the government now spends more on the military than on mere interest on the debt. I believe that the bankrupting of the West is a critical component of their plan, and with it the flood of propaganda about the “demise of capitalism”.

  13. @JEFF NYQUIST: “Ideology has no place in art.” And yet ideology has taken art over, from top to bottom.

And would the deeply communistic Franco-Italian cinema world have bothered to award Andrei Tarkovsky their prestigious Palme d’or, had he not been one of their own?

All this apologetics about Soviet art figures is a complete waste of time. They all, to varying degrees and in different ways, obeyed. Take, for instance, the composer Dmitri Shostakovich: He already grew into the new Soviet terror state as a schoolboy and young man and of course embraced it. Not only did he never step out of line, he was directly involved in Soviet activities and provided the system with a whole number of monstrously ideological works. And yet, Western musicologists can’t praise him enough for his “courageous” little ironies thoroughly hidden in his symphonies here and there, accessible only to trained ears and nobody else. What about Sergei Prokokofiev? He would have had plenty of opportunity, on his various concert travels to Europe, to make a firm decision and stay in freedom rather than return to the criminal world of Soviet communism. And yet he returned, long after the end of the NEP period, and died – what symbolism! – on the same day as Comrade Stalin, March 5, 1953.

We are used to harshly criticise – and rightly so – the Richard Strausses, Herbert von Karajans and Wilhelm Furtwänglers of Nazi Germany for their spineless, whatever passive, collaboration. Why shouldn’t the same harshness, for God’s sake, be applied to Soviet artists, as well?

    1. This was performed less than two months before the centenary of the October Revolution in September 2017, in the Netherlands! This is how the West dies. Celebrating this deadly turn of history, with this disgusting Bolshevik Gergiev as conductor, is something only suicidal idiots could dream up. Each single one of these acts is a demonstration of triumph, and the West lets them. Is there still a “West”? That is the question.

(Whoever thinks I can’t properly spell the name Prokofiev, this was a slip, nothing more.)

      1. And mind: This is NOT a Russian orchestra & chorus playing, but the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Rotterdam Symphony Chorus! And they sing it all – of course! – in the original Russian!

We have been shocked (or not so shocked) by Putin’s opening of that world communist gathering, known as World Festival of Youth and Students, in Sochi in October 2017, but this concert in Rotterdam, Netherlands, of September 15, 2017 is even more devastating!

    2. “@JEFF NYQUIST: “Ideology has no place in art.” And yet ideology has taken art over, from top to bottom.”

When we look at the synonyms for “ideology”, we find “doctrine”, “creed”, “dogma” (words connected with “religion” as actually believed, not simply stated by a hypocrite), “beliefs”, “philosophy”, “world view”, “articles of faith”, “Weltanschauung” and other words connected with core beliefs. It can refer to a person’s total belief system, or a subset thereof.

With that as a definition, artists produce art out of their ideologies. It’s not that ideology has taken over art, rather that art expresses the ideology of its creator.

To give an example from music (I come from a musical family) we can compare the music of Bach and Vivaldi. They were contemporaries. Both were giants in their field. But their music followed significantly different traditions. Bach was influenced by his simple Biblical theology (he was probably more consistent than many Lutheran theologians of his time). Vivaldi was an ordained Roman Catholic priest following the theology of Aquinas. In accordance with Bach’s Biblical beliefs, everyone is important, therefore every voice has a melodic line, yet all work together. Bach’s Lutheran contemporaries, such as Telemann and Händel, tended to write the same style. Vivaldi on the other hand, tended to write music that has one melodic line as lead, and all other voices have supporting roles. Later musicians such as Haydn and Mozart followed the same pattern.

I could go on ad nauseam giving examples both in music and visual arts of how the personal beliefs of the author influence the style of art that he produces. I hope that the example above suffices to express the deep connection between ideology and art.

      1. The word ideology was invented by a Frenchman, Antoine Destutt de Tracey, in the 18th century. By this world he signified a “science of ideas” as opposed to metaphysics. Of course, there is no such science, and the word was only used by the French at the time.

In the 19th century the word was not used much, except Napoleon used the word “ideologist” as a term of abuse. The ideology was then picked up by German thinkers, especially Karl Marx.
It came into use by English writers in the twentieth century, so it is a fairly recent thing. I was used to designate a systematic or “scientific” set of ideas for interpretting the world. It was English-speaking socialists and communists who used it as a term of abuse for the false ideas or false consciousness instilled into the working class by the bourgeoisie. Later, people started applying the word to socialism and communism, although that is not how the word was originally used.

The political philosopher Eric Voegelin, who had tasked himself with writing a history of ideas, abandoned the project for the following reason: “It dawned on me that the conception of a history of ideas was an ideological deformation of reality. There were no ideas unless there were symbols of immediate experiences.”

In casualty speech the words philosophy and ideology are used interchangeably. But the two terms do not mean the same thing. And it is in our more refined distinctions that true understanding of the world emerges. You do not want to say that “ideology” is philosophy because philsophy comes from the Greek word “philosophia,” which means love of wisdom. Philosophy is a specific discipline which includes logic, epistemology, metaphysics, ethics, and politics (as well as various sciences).

Ideology is not properly used to designate “theology” either; for theology refers to the study of religious beliefs and is usually considered to be political and secular in nature.

It is important to emphasis that ideologies are not about truth or wisdom. They are pragmantic formula.

Joseph Roucek pointed out that the term “ideology” is of a recent invention and, in American English, the terms ideology and ideologue “are still taken by most thinkers as derogatory terms, and are used to condemn or stigmatize.” If you want to use the word as sociologists use it, however, the word refers to a system of ideas “elaborated in the light of what ought to be.” In this sense, ideologies signify political programs attended by pseudo-scientific explanations.

I believe that many philosophic thinkers (not only Voegelin and Karl Marx) saw “ideology” as a negative term. Voegelin was especially interesting insofar as he believed that ideas (out of which “ideologies” are made) were not primary and that symbols were the true sources of order.

You really do not want to say that science is an ideology or that religion is an ideology, or that the discipline of philosophy is an ideology. You are missing certain vital distintions in the use of words when you do this, and you are cheating yourself out of the insights that come with those distinctions.

  14. Jimmy was really promoting Diana West but from what I can recall someone on this site said that she was not supporting the Ukrainian war? I can’t seem to find a link to her site to answer my question.

      1. It seems Diana West is now a believer in RFK Jr. and views Pearl Harbor, the JFK assassination, 9/11, if not the 10/7 Hamas atrocities against Israel, as “inside jobs”. She could as well sign up with Alex Jones’ team of “investigators”. – Very unfortunate!

    1. Thank you, TCO. I knew that she went sideways on some issues but I couldn’t remember exactly which ones.

      1. I would say that Jeff’s statement is true. The west is already gone and it is decomposing.

      2. It is something to me that you posted that, CMA. I have gone through some times of grief over the situation our country is in as well. But, I don’t let it get too out of hand, because while my fight and struggle is here in the temporal, my Hope -Christ the Lord- inhabits eternity, and when my body dies here, I will be with Him.

Think about what He went through for us.

We can’t despair. If nothing else, we can go down fighting. Mentally, spiritually, physically.

The Ukranians haven’t given up, and in the words of one John Paul Jones, we “have yet begun to fight.”

People like you and me know that Trump is no savior. He is not even close to being in the league of our founding fathers who pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to win the freedom we were blessed to inherit.

Could you imagine John Hancock selling autographed tennis shoes to try to recoup some of his wealth list in the cause of American independence?

I never read of George Washington boasting of anything he had ever accomplished, yet Trump can’t refrain from boasting, and often boasting about nothing of substance!

But, like you, I will have to vote for what appears to be the lesser of two evils, if only because, as Bogdan says, if we do nothing, we can’t complain. And voting is the very least thing we can do.

Robert E. Lee said something to the effect of, “do your duty in all things. You can never do more. You should never hope to do less.”

We can be thankful. We can be helpful to the helpless around us. We can treat people we come in contact with on a day to day basis with respect (and I don’t mean people actively, knowingly engaged in destroying our society). We can speak out against lies. We *must* speak up against lies.

I know I’m rambling here. Just don’t despair, CMA, or anyone else.

  15. The main goal of the Russian communists is to inflict demoralization of the enemy population in such a degree that the perverted western mind cannot even comprehend, much less to deal with.

It is the softening of the masses, bringing them into the level of decadence so great that no agreement in proper action against the communist subversion and, ultimately, conquest, is sought and accepted, much less agreed upon.

It is their lack of Divine help, God is rightfully and justly withholding His grace from such perverted souls in punishment of their obstinacy and outright refusal to obey His Commandments and Laws….and much more.

The war in Ukraine, is it now evident, is only a prelude to much destructive warfare, which the communists, Russian and Chinese etc., have no conscience to inflict upon those who simply stand in their way to the victory of this terrorist nihilistic godless ideology of the devil.

Atheistic communism is a plague of Satan attempting to infest all corners of the Earth, to bring about the ruin and demolition of the true belief in God and Divine mercy, and eliminate human souls from that favor of God, His mercy and Divine help, when they will be in need of it, and so when the time comes and this Divine chastisement is realized, those unprepared will cry for help and there will be none, because they are solely surrounded by the same kind perverted souls who, in their individualistic monstrous decadent depravity seek no charity towards their fellow man, but their own bare survival and benefit, and so none of these perverted souls will be helped by God to sustain the horrific times approaching, which is to say the time of the Antichrist, the worldwide communist tyranny.

And that those who grasp this essential point are themselves somewhat limited in proper response, in mind and soul, and their hearts dismayed by this communist strategy of demoralization of the opponent, the hated liberty loving population of the West (as the Bolsheviks like to call them), the disunity in times of defensive warfare against this communist plague of Satan appears at the moment insufficient, as the mindset is crippled by the scandalously limited understanding, the absolutely non-existent sanctification of the soul (which cannot happen to those who don’t believe in God nor do they belong to Him the way He Himself has revealed), they are set to become victims of their own laxity and improper upbringing, their decadence and most of all, victims of their attachment to worldly pleasures and heretical fabrications of various kinds (of which it is a shame to even speak of).

There is no other remedy against this atheistic communist evil but the supernatural help from God, and ONLY those will obtain it who are true to Him, in truth and justice, and all compromise seeking deniers of the truth are thus excluded from this Divine mercy, by their own fault of not willing to love the love of the truth…”…therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying so that all may be judged who have not received the love of the truth BUT have consented to iniquity…”(saith St. Paul).

This doesn’t mean there is no hope, but only to those who are willing to learn the truth of salvation and make it a priority of their lives, because otherwise they will be included in the numbers of the victims and of the punished…by their own fault.

    1. You know what I think the sad thing about Biden, is he is a mere tool, and has been for his entire political career. And now, he is locked into being a mere tool, a lackey for America’s (and the West’s) enemies. He’s got to know it. At some point, surely he loathed himself for it. He’s played the little game so long, and now it seems that his mind and body are extremely weary and worn, but it seems now he is forced to continue playing the game. What an utterly wasted life.

      1. How is Israel supposed to completely end Hamas when it pulls out all but one division fron Gaza? Apparently under outside pressure?

      2. Biden’s brain is gone, but he seems to me like a two-bit conman, from a skeezy family of conmen. The entire family screams low class, from the drug use, to the brother being with his dead brother’s wife, to the alleged showers with the granddaughter, to Joe’s brother allegedly financially profiting as well. The entire family strikes me as one bunch of unprincipled, amoral grifters – in other words, the exact type of people the KGB targets for recruitment. The kinds of people who don’t care what they’re doing as long as they’re profiting from it. Russian intel looks for people they can convince to sell out their own government, and then empowers those people. It has always been like this. People were shocked at the news that MLK witnessed and laughed at a rape by a fellow “pastor” against a parishioner, unless you consider the possibility that MLK was merely some opportunist that the Communists recruited with promises of wealth, fame, and women. The G. Edward Griffin documentary detailed how, once Stalin approved the operation, the Communists inside America began targeting black pastors to be their faces.

        https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KqvbSKURCNY

They understood that the cultural power of the black population resides in the churches. And so one must consider the possibility that MLK was merely an opportunist who made a deal with the devil. A man potentially quite similar to Biden, where the guiding morality is that there is no morality except self-interest. Once you understand that the KGB, through their proxy the Communist Party, explicitly searches for this personality type, and then vaults them into power, it makes much more sense. They cover them with propaganda of nobility and honor and “fighting for rights” so that you don’t notice it is in fact a swindler selling out their nation.

    1. I saw that earlier. What a lowdown, ignorant, asinine, “solution”. Art of the Deal in play I guess. It shows the shallowness of Trump to me.

      1. Yeah. Couple that with Trump’s rejection of the Golitsyn evidence and predictions. I just got into an argument with a Trump “hoper” last week. Grief about where we are headed is real.

    2. If you believe Russia’s pretext for starting the war, and do not believe the truth of an enormous, international criminal conspiracy with the Russian regime as the kingpin, Trump’s proposal makes sense. A friend of mine told me today that Blinken proposed admitting Ukraine into NATO, and that this was “provoking” Russia into nuclear war. The “right-wing” in the US is completely deceived.

  16. News on Crocus City Hall attack. Iran (enemy to ISIS) had also warned Russia about this attack. Question remains. Why Russia did nothing to prevent it?

  17. All of this is only possible because they removed the image of the enemy. Because we believe the Communists disappeared, anti-Communism disappeared. And so they are free to roam throughout the entire world unopposed. We are at 6-7 “coups” in Africa now, all by military soldiers who almost immediately show solidarity to Russia. Haiti is being taken over by gangs, but all of the replacements, and even the head gang leader spout rhetoric that sounds straight out of Moscow. “At war against an unjust system, against imperialism, etc..”

The Russians didn’t even bother to give their bootlicking stooges fresh material. From Niger to Haiti, their mouthpieces all say the same thing. By overthrowing our democracy, we are overthrowing the “white imperialists, the racists”. It doesn’t have to be true, it doesn’t have to even make sense, they just have to say it. Who will contest? In those coup countries they move swiftly to arrest or murder opposition. The brilliant leftwing journalists parrot their claims and thus the wider world has no idea what is occurring.

I read some article somewhere on the people planning the future leadership in Haiti. One of the men mentioned specifically said he had a Russian flag. What a curious thing, all the way in Haiti, combatting “imperialism”, and you are waving the flag of a dictatorship thousands of miles away.

The domino theory is real. Nations are falling everywhere. Brazil, in Africa, Peru as some have said here.

Meanwhile, in the United States, the population is so psychologically blinded, the “movie of the year” is about Americans murdering Americans in a civil war. Imagine how sick you must be as a nation to even make such a movie! America used to make movies about fighting the Russians, or the Chinese. We are such slaves now that the only enemy our Soviet masters allow us to see on screen is… ourselves! The American man’s natural impulse for the hero’s fight and glorious battle can only be channeled into.. fighting his fellow man. We are conditioned to watch scenes of a federal government shooting at Americans, at President’s serving third terms. There is some commercial running right now which shows Anderson Cooper saying “widespread power outages across the country”. Do you think any of this is a coincidence?

Does anyone realize how sick this is? There are potentially thousands, if not tens of thousands of foreign enemy soldiers and mercenaries here waiting for the signal, and we are being bombarded with imagery of power outages and Americans fighting Americans? In a just world, the director of that movie would have been expelled from the country for treason. The dominos are falling. Unopposed, the Communist lie machine pumps lie after lie into the collective ether, distorting their targets’ minds this way and that. The Russian regime’s fantasy of US civil war is merely the prelude; with Americans weakened and completely at each others’ throats, none of them will notice the red glow of thousands of rockets flying towards them from China and Russia.

An interesting exercise is to go on YouTube and look for visions of the strike – there are a surprising number of random people who have had a dream or vision of Russia and China nuking the United States. These are just a couple examples:

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B9_jD0cz9WM

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xuX_L2Ky_hU

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZpQ2Bqh2QI

I do not think there is 5 years, although I have been wrong many times before. A lot of their messaging and signaling points towards them trying to at least prepare the possibility in Americans’ minds of some potential disruption occurring during the election. A Third Term? A President firing on citizens? Again, I don’t think people realize just how sick, yet also highly illustrative this movie and it’s timing are. If you think the KGB, working through multiple layers and proxies, are not capable of coordinating this movie at this time, you are dead wrong.
