A journalist friend in Poland sent me a translation of an interview with FSB [KGB] defector Alexander Litvinenko. The testimony was given by Litvinenko and published by FAKT in the wake of the 2005 London bombings.

Biographical note: Alexander Valterovich Litvinenko (b. Voreonezh, 1962) served in the counterintelligence agencies of the Soviet KGB, and after 1991, as a counter-terrorism expert in the Central Staff of the MB-FSK-FSB (KGB successor organizations). In 1997 Litvinenko served in one of the most secretive departments of the Russian KGB — the Department for the Analysis of Criminal Organizations. He was a senior operations officer and deputy head of the Seventh Section. Litvinenko defected from Russia and was granted political asylum by the United Kingdom in May 2001.

In a July 2002 article titled Ayman al-Zawahiri’s Russian Adventure, I offered the following analysis: “Given Zawahiri’s travels to Russia and China, given the full context of Russia’s double game in Chechnya … we ought to entertain the possibility that China and Russia secretly supported the terrorists who attacked America on 9/11.”

Poland’s FAKT contacted Litvinenko after the 7 July 2005 London bombings and the following conversation was reported:

FAKT: Alexander, who, in your opinion, is the originator of this [London] terrorist attack?

A. Litvinenko: You know, I have spoken about it earlier and I shall say now, that I know only one organization that has made terrorism the main tool of solving political problems. It is the Russian special services. The KGB was engaged in terrorism for many years, and mass terrorism. At the special department of the KGB they trained terrorists from practically every country in the world. These courses lasted, as a rule, for a half-year. Specially trained and prepared agents of the KGB organized murders and explosions, including explosions of tankers, the hijacking of passenger airliners, strikes on diplomatic, state and commercial organizations worldwide.

FAKT: Could you name … some of the terrorists prepared at the “special courses” of the KGB-FSB?

A. Litvinenko: The bloodiest terrorists in the world were or are agents of the KGB-FSB. These are well-known, like Carlos Ilyich Ramiros, nicknamed “the Jackal,” the late Yassir Arafat, Saddam Hussein, Adjalan (he is condemned in Turkey), Wadi Haddad, the head of the service of external operations of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, Hauyi, the head of the communist party of Lebanon, Mr. Papaionnu from the Cyprus, Sean Garland from Ireland and many others. All of them were trained by the KGB, received money from there, weapons and explosives, counterfeit documents and communication equipment for carrying out of acts of terrorism worldwide.

FAKT: Some may object that each of the listed figures, and the forces supporting them, were engaged in solving their own political problems.

A. Litvinenko: Certainly, all these figures and movements operated under their own slogans; however, none of them especially hid their “intimate” … relationship with the Kremlin and Lubyanka. There is a simple question: whether the Russian special services would train and finance people and groups that were not supervised by Lubyanka and did not serve the interests of the Kremlin? You understand perfectly, they would not. Each act of terrorism made by these people was carried out as an assignment and under the rigid control of the KGB of the USSR. And [the terrorism] … is not casual after the disintegration of the USSR and [reform of the KGB]….

FAKT: Every terrorist you have named is from ‘the old staff’ of the KGB. Could you name someone from recent history?

A. Litvinenko: Certainly, here it is. The number two person in the terrorist organization al Qaeda, who they are crediting with the series of explosions in London, Ayman al-Zawahiri, is an old agent of the FSB. Being sentenced to death in Egypt for terrorism and hunted by Interpol, Ayman al-Zawahiri, in 1998, was in the territory of Dagestan, where for half a year he received special training at one of the educational bases of the FSB. After this training he was transferred to Afghanistan, where he had never been before and where, following the recommendation of his Lubyanka chiefs, he at once … penetrated the milieu of bin Laden and soon became his assistant in al Qaeda.

FAKT: Could you hint at least, where this data comes from?

A. Litvinenko: I can. During my service in one of the most secret departments of the FSB, top officials from the UFSB of Dagestan, who had directly worked with Ayman al-Zawahiri … were called to Moscow and received high posts.

FAKT: What can you say concerning the acts of terrorism in London ? From what region and with what forces was this strike directed?

A. Litvinenko: In reply to this question I can definitely say that the center of global terrorism is not in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan or the Chechen Republic. The terrorist infection is spread worldwide from Lubyanka Square and the Kremlin cabinet. And until the Russian special services are outlawed, dispersed and condemned, the terrorism will never stop: bombs will blow up and blood will be shed. Terrorism has no expiration date…. I would like to repeat, that all the terrorists, whom I have named, were supported by the heads of the Soviet and Russian special services – Yuri Andropov, Vladimir Putin, Nikolay Patrushev and others. These people are the main terrorists…. And until we condemn them … global terrorism will continue.

Postscript

Such was the FAKT interview with former FSB-KGB officer Alexander Litvinenko. He was assassinated by the Russian special services the year following this interview. They killed him with a highly radioactive dose of polonium 210. Related to Litvinenko’s testimony, in November 1998 I asked a former Russian intelligence official how Moscow might successfully pull off a surprise nuclear attack against the United States without suffering a devastating retaliation. He replied without hesitation, saying: “If you ever hear that Arab terrorists have attacked an American city with nuclear weapons don’t believe it.” The attack, he said, would be from Russia.

Such an attack would produce an economic panic, market collapse and inevitable social chaos during the followup “active measures” phase of the operation. In this matter I am reminded of San Renxing’s recent commentary on General Chi Haotian’s secret speech to high-level cadres about China’s plans to kill 100 to 200 million Americans with a bio-weapon: “Unable to believe in the existence of such wickedness … people would rather think the [war] ‘speech’ cannot be true or it’s not to be believed.”

I will end this commentary with a quote from the text of Viktor Suvorov’s Spetsnaz.

[Widespread terrorist and sabotage operations in advance of World War III] are known officially in the GRU as the “preparatory period,” and unofficially as the “overture.” The overture is a series of large and small operations the purpose of which is, before actual military operations begin, to weaken the enemy’s morale, create an atmosphere of suspicion, fear and uncertainty, and divert the attention of the enemy’s armies and police forces to a huge number of different targets, each of which may be the object of the next attack.

The overture is carried out by agents of the secret services of the Soviet satellite countries and by mercenaries recruited by intermediaries. The principal method employed at this stage is “gray terror,” that is, a kind of terror which is not conducted in the name of the Soviet Union. The Soviet secret services do not at this stage leave their visiting cards, or leave other people’s cards. The terror is carried out in the name of already existing extremist groups not connected in any way with the Soviet Union, or in the name of fictitious organizations.

  1. I don’t like the chicoms or the soviets, I truly detest their revolutionary thinking but America’s right to exist ought to be proved. One can’t expect impunity after removing millions of human beings from their ancestral lands, one can’t expect to go unpunished after a brazen land grab from the extinct catholic New Spain, one can’t expect fraternity after inflicting pain AND destruction upon Germany twice cuddling up with godless russians. This Is Americas opportunity to prove the world that she’s up for the task of enlighting humanity

      1. The idea that America has to die because Jefferson Davis owned slaves is communists in its origins. It is a psychological device for exterminating us. Do the people spouting this nonsense want to be exterminated? If not, then shut up.

      1. You see, Jeff, with his glorious divine insight, attributes social awareness of the impacts of historical atrocities as weakness and emasculation, and any effort to rectify those impacts is subversive to his vision of America. Therefore, acknowledging entire communities are still suffering the consequences of these atrocities only serves to destroy us in the end, so they should be accepted and ignored if we are to survive.

Somehow though, the atrocities of Communists are to never be forgotten, and must be constantly refreshed in our memories so as not to repeat them. Extermination of Native Americans and the utilization of slavery to build a vastly unequal nation is what has made us great. So it is never to be criticized. Save criticism for the “useful idiots” who insist we can do better (like me).

      2. The long race war between whites and “Indians” involved many tragic atrocities on both sides. It is not a simple or straightforward story of evil whites killing good Indians. The Indians had their victories, their massacre of white settlers, their favorable treaties, and many brave deeds. The old West ended in the defeat of the warlike tribes. As bad as it was, it was not the rape of Tibet, the Great Leap Forward, or the Holodomor. It had touches of these latter atrocities, because government management of people (on reservations) has socialist features — with many evil effects. If you want to destroy someone, have the government feed and clothe them. The Indian wars were nothing compared to this. Therefore you will see that communism is this same evil on steroids. Communism is the state treating everyone like an Indian on a reservation.

      3. This argument is not at all reasonable. For one, it ignores slavery completely and two, it downplays an empirical conquest fueled by white European entitlement as somehow less tragic because it was not quite up to scale as the conquests forged on the other side of the planet. There is no sympathy in your view. The argument then turns the victims of colonial expansion into the straw man onto which other foreign horrors are pinned. This is logical magicianship and you it doesn’t lessen the unforgivable action of decimating an entire cultural and relegating it to tainted racist history. If you think the government has even feigned attempt to provide true rehabilitation to the reservations, you are deftly mistaken. The same white entitlement that brought Europeans here has relegated America’s greatest shame to silent lawless wastelands (plus casinos). White America still exploits every Native body on a daily basis and you’re ready to dismiss your own culpability, even as someone who expresses these views that you have just expressed. It’s beginning to become no surprise why you’re lack of anti-semitism is a disappointing shock to a number of your readers.

(Cue the claims that Native extinction wasn’t driven by racism)

  2. You said several times that China’s objetive is to land troops in the american west coast. Do you have any details of the operational aspects of such endeavour? Would they land in Japan first? Would they take american pacific bases before jumping into the mainland? I am asking this as someone that loves studying the pacific war and is fully aware of all the difficulties in amphibious operational. But maybe their plan is to obliterate America in a series of attacks using weapons of mass destruction and land the troops more as occupation forces… time will tell, unless you already have the answer.

    1. I believe they want to land troops on the West coast suddenly, in the wake of missile and bomber strikes against the US Navy. This would only be possible if they first neutralized our nuclear deterrent. This is the most difficult problem they have to solve. I am beginning to suspect their approach to this will involve the ongoing financial unraveling. How is that possible. I will explain in my next article.

      1. It could actually end up being a multi-pronged attack. As the Red Chinese operate and provide the security for the Panama Canal, it would be easy for them to bring over troops gradually to Panama, and then have them move forward through Central America disguised as refugees trying to get to the USA. At some point, with the help of the Mexican government, these military people would be fully armed and provided with military vehicles, to include armored personnel carriers, and light armored vehicles. At the given moment they would invade the US via several points on the Southern Border, which would effectively take military personnel from the West Coast to combat the invasion.
In doing so, it would leave the West Coast more susceptible to an attack having divided our forces. The West Coast does not have much military left. Fort Lewis has the only major Army units on the West Coast. There is a Brigade of Marines at 29 Palms, and the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force at Camp Pendleton. There are Navy and Marine Air Stations, and a few Air Force Bases left on the West Coast, but all would not have Fighters or Bombers available to deal with attacks from a invasion force.
During all of this, we could also expect attacks from Russia in Alaska.
We have left the West Coast open to invasion for a long time. Fiendstein (not a misspelling), Cranston, and Boxer made sure that as many Army, Navy/Marine, and Air Force Forts/Bases were closed and units moved elsewhere, which started back in the 80s.
Once diversionary attacks had taken place on the Southern Border, it would make invasion of the West Coast easier.

  3. This notion of an invasion by Chinese troops via a Pacific Ocean crossing seems far-fetched to me. It’s about 8,000 miles across! Think of the logistics of troop ships, crossing times, exposure to air (and submarine) attack by U.S. forces. Also, as one who spends a considerable amount of time with graduate-level Chinese exchange students and who has hosted Chinese high schoolers in our home, I can tell you that the modern Chinese young male is docile, timid, and increasingly, self-absorbed as a result of the One Child Policy. No, I can’t see such an invasion happening. They’d be picked off and chewed up by the horde of tough, resolute AR-15 owners here, even if the U.S. military is non-functional. The only feasible scenario is China occupying the U.S. post-nuclear attack or pandemic (I mean a REAL pandemic, not one that kills 0.125% of the U.S. population). And China would itself suffer catastrophic losses. Xi and his cohorts are people too — corrupt Mandarins accustomed to the high life — and they would be loathe to risk it all.

And as for the above comment by NMOldSourdough about the Chinese walking up through Mexico as disguised immigrants and then being suddenly armed with APCs by Mexico — c’mon man.

The real threat to our nation’s survival is right before our eyes — the steady creep (and recent gallop) of socialist policies and thought throughout our institutions, combined by the decline in Christian convictions. Now THAT’s where tyranny will arise from.

    1. Of course it’s far-fetched to suppose they want to cross the ocean with troops. In 1958 Mao told his generals the plan was to land Chinese troops in San Francisco. That was his dream. Yes, far-fetched — and it has always been the ultimate objective of their preparations. They are not loading the ships today because we still have a navy and nukes. Be patient. They have not finished turning over cards. The biological attack is one small step in a journey of six thousand miles. They want to land in San Francisco. They have been stockpiling weapons in Mexico for decades, according to Scott Gulbransen. Do you think the communists think small, or is their thinking grandiose? Are they presently destroying our economy with a biological attack or is it my overactive imagination? We need to understand their thinking and their goals — not project our assumptions onto them. We need to watch them very carefully now,

      1. Jeff, your articles frequently reference plans and speeches made by communists in China or Russia 20, 40, and 60 years ago or more (above, 1958). The people who made these early pronouncements are long dead and gone. In most cases, the bureaucrats who succeeded them are retired and dead, and those who succeeded THEM are retired or aging out.

These people are singularly atheistic. Their focus is on the “here and now.” In such a limited mindset, there is nothing to be gained by planning an event that occurs 20 or 50 years after you’re dead.

Having participated over a lifetime in various institutions, e.g., the U.S. military, doctrine and aims evolve constantly. It is impossible to keep an organization on track with its original aim in the face of inexorable generational and cultural changes. The erosion and morphing of purpose is inevitable because there isn’t an immortal guardian to see it all through. (Look at Iran — are you aware of the collapse of the Mullahs’ influence among the populace and the latter’s detestation of those former “revolutionaries”?).

Look at the massive changes in Russian and Chinese economic life. The collectivist experiment ended in failure and starvation. The means of production are in private hands with owners reaping great wealth, albeit I concede that in those two countries there remains a corrupt, fascissistic oversight of the economy by the governments. Putin undoubtedly regards Gorbachev with contempt, and Gorbachev thought Brezhnev a fool, who likewise disparaged Kruschev’s ineptness, etc…

No, I think the Soviet Union’s and Red China’s international socialism mindset has morphed into the age-old paradigm of a nationalistic oligarchy, much similar to the Czarist and Mandarin oligarchies that preceded them. Remember the ending of Animal Farm, when the old masters (humans) and new masters (pigs) sat to dinner together and became indistinguishable?

Yes, these two nations remain dangerous because their governments have each inherited their communist predecessors’ hostility to the United States, although the “man on the street” in Moscow or Shanghai would be hard-pressed to explain why or might not even feel that way. And I concede that there are still firebrands making fearsome speeches to rev up the faithful (ala our own Gen. Curtis LeMay). But I view Russian and China as rival nationalistic nations rather than coherent, doctrinal international socialist actors.

The leaders of China, in particular, seek world economic dominance, more out of sense of national pride and avarice than communistic fervor. As for Russia, the collapse in its birth rate and any sense of civic decency will, in a couple generations, doom that nation to irrelevance.

      2. You imagine that communism truly is dead. But beliefs — however they might evolve — retain a coherency and consistency that should not surprise us. Ideas don’t die. They might hibernate, or go underground for awhile. But they do not die. History shows that ideas cycle their way through history, recurring and reinventing themselves under various labels. If people in America are more inclined to believe in communism today, why would the 900 million strong Chinese Communist Party stop believing? Why would the ruling families in Russia give up their faith? It’s quite ridiculous to think they would — or actually did — give up communism. Khrushchev said too much when he exclaimed, “We will give up Communism when crabs learn to whistle.” He said that when his own deputies had proposed a long-range plan to fake the collapse of communism thirty years in the future. And that was easy to pull off, because communism has always been the philosophy of a small minority of people. A small and disciplined minority who can act in concert. That same minority have been very effective at wielding power. They have become experts in deceiving the non-believing majority that always backs away from open communist principles. Thus, the communists are continually spinning webs and spreading lies — like global warming and gay marriage and feminism and “Putin is a conservative,” and communism is dead. Meanwhile, Lenin remains in his Mausoleum on Red Square, unburied, with vast lines of believers coming to see him day after day. Why haven’t they buried Lenin? Why does Moscow support every communist regime on the planet? Why did Putin endorse the World Festival of Youth and Students at the hundredth anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution at Sochi, in 2017, and tell them he was behind them, that they were the future? What you have set down above, with such credulity, ignores a mountain of evidence because you were taken in by an idea you got from the Soviets themselves; namely, that communism is dead and nobody believes in it. The communists sold you that idea, and you are still buying it. If Bernie Sanders still believes in socialism, why wouldn’t the Russian nomenklatura believe in it? After all, their system of wealth and power was once justified by that ideology, and their future is still connected to it. They remain in possession of the stolen property of 1917-18. Why would they repudiate their own rationale for existing? Even more telling, they are allied with communist North Korea, China, Cuba, Angola, Namibia, Congo, Nepal, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Mozambique. These countries have all engaged in a pretense, yet they are all run by communists — and we believe their lip service to “democracy and capitalism.” Please take another look. They are the communist bloc, and all your statements denying their continued existence will not make them into capitalist democrats. Likewise, the communist organizations and fronts here in America are in the ascendant. Look at our schools, our media — our Justice Department, CIA and FBI. Who do think took over the management of these organizations when Obama was president? You think these people believe in our Founding Fathers? How can you fail to grasp the real nature of Obama’s ideological beliefs? Of course, my discourse is tedious. It is depressing. But it’s true. The communists are getting ready to clobber us.

      3. The only thing that has delayed a Chinese invasion of the US is that Trump was elected President and not Mini-Mao (Hellary). Otherwise, I am sure she would have been in San Francisco, along with Pelosi, Fiendstein (not a misspelling), and the rest of the “gang” to welcome the Chicoms to their new home.

    3. No, it’s not that far-fetched.

You envision the Chicoms’ PLA crossing the ocean after the war has already commenced.

The U.S. is the big target that needs to be taken out first. They will go all out, as far as their military is able, to take out the U.S. first. That means that their landings can coincide with the nukes taking out our land-based military and missiles or immediately afterwards. The Chicoms can disguise their troop ships so we won’t know that they are troop ships until they disgorge their troops. This would be a multi-faceted surprise attack.

The Chicoms have smuggled in and stored weapons in the U.S. Some years back, at a time when customs were opening one container out of 50 to make sure that the contents were the same as the invoices, one container was found to have 5000 AK 47 machine guns. How many containers got through unopened, are presently in storage, awaiting deployment?

What will happen to the PLA after landings? They are green, never having seen battle. The U.S. has the highest percentage of AR-armed, battle-hardened veterans among a population that is third largest in the world. Even if we lose tens of millions of population to the initial attacks, how will our defenders not outnumber possible attackers (given the limits of transport systems and how large is the PLA) by an order of magnitude or more?

China’s population is at a peak, starting to decline. Their ally’s population has been declining for some years. There have been crop reductions world-wide in the last few years due to disease, weather and cold, decreasing not only their local food production, but also what is available to import. Their window of opportunity for a military attack is closing. The possibility of a popular revolt due to hunger against the hated, tiny minority that rules the country is growing. How long can they wait before acting?

  4. It seems to me that the only way Russians or Chinese could land troops on the American mainland would be if the US. Was so militarily and economically shattered that it was willing to accept the conquerors, perhaps as “humanitarian”. Something like this happened in the book “One Second After”. A red dawn like, surprise invasion seems unlikely to me. Am I missing something here?

  5. Jeff and Contemplative O, I think you misunderstand me, at least in part. I certainly agree with much that you have to say. And I don’t for a minute believe or suggest that communism is “dead.”

The collectivist mindset, be it “communist,” “socialist,” or Marxist, is alive and well today, and yes, advancing steadily. But I am far more concerned about its infiltration of America’s (and the West’s) institutions than what you see across the pond. We are just a few steps away from socialism in this country, accelerated by the Leftist mis-education of our younger generations. And there are plenty of deluded true believers here without Russian infiltration. In fact, I would argue that the Marxist/Leftists who run our institutions today are the natural outgrowth of 19th Century Progressivism, with its godless, Utopian aspirations. Do they really need a push from Russia or China?

Query: If America collapses into a socialistic regime, why in the heck would Russia and China — if they are driven by a zeal for international socialism (and not nationalistic power) — bother or need to invade us? Is it not “game over” anyway? Wouldn’t they shake hands with Pres. Bernie and pronounce “mission accomplished”? I think your contentions a prove my point: The aim of Russia and China, despite genuflections to their past Communist glories, is to dominate or perhaps even conquer us for nationalistic reasons. Yes, they still revere Lenin’s tomb and wrap themselves in other past indicia of communism, but they are no more genuine about it than contemporary Republicans who tout small government and Thomas Jefferson while spending us into oblivion. Bottom line is that their actions don’t match their professed convictions in either case.

Sorry, but you can’t truly characterize leaders of China as “communists” when they are billionaire owners of business monopolies with private jets, yachts, and homes around the world. They have long since ceased walking the walk of dedicated, selfless Marxists who are determined to bring about a classless society. They are just corrupt, wealthy elitists, like our own elitists who dictate to us nowadays even what we may post on Social media. Just pigs who look indistinguishable from our own pigs.

Finally, to your point about Soviet Russia feigning its own collapse: I don’t doubt the plausibility of that, probably because collectivism was such a failure that they would otherwise have been left far behind us in every sphere of intellect. However, I would suggest that a person and his later generations cannot feign transformation into something completely different without, eventually becoming that new creature. Sort of like the Spanish Jews who ostensibly converted to Catholicism rather than risk expulsion in 1492. Several generations later their descendants were often surprised to learn they had Jewish ancestors. In this case, Russia became far wealthier once it adopted private ownership and enterprise, no? So what would be the point of regressing? Anyway, you get my point. The modern day Russian or Chinese, particularly the upper classes, have grown accustomed to a whole lot more economic freedom and freedom of thought than their forbears, and I don’t think they’re going to go back to collectivism any time soon. And if they are not forced back to collectivism, what was the point of communism in the first place?

Let me repeat something I said in a prior post: the leaders of Russia and China are NOT omniscent. They are, by and large, delusional bureaucratic baffoons like all socialist types — forever central-planning a world that is far too complex for such a thing, and endlessly bungling the execution of their plans.

So, is there a danger of attack from Russia or China? Sure. But not for the ideological reasons you suggest. If that’s really their aim, they’ll succeed without firing a shot. All we need do is look at the modern American university campus with its rigid repression of unwanted ideas and behavior, and there lies our chilling future.

Anyway, I love the deep thinking on your blog, even if we disagree somewhat.

    1. All I would wish you to do is start reading Golitsyn (the links are there above)! He is an eye-opener of the first order. Take some time off from other activities, if you can (and if you will), and learn from him! It’s of course not just about those types in Moscow and Beijing (or Havana, Caracas, and Managua, for that matter). Communism has been an omnipresent, international movement from the outset, and the United States has always represented to them the main enemy, the main obstacle on their road to world victory. There’s no contradiction at all between the Revolution being in full gear inside America, and Moscow and Beijing (that are both still highly ideologically charged, despite the continuing deception) getting ever more obviously ready for a big showdown. It’s all of a piece!

      Like

    2. Above all, communists have always been liars, deceivers, robbers and mass murderers! It’s a certain mindset (a through-and-through criminal mindset) that they share, that can perhaps be more aptly explained by means of psychology (if not metaphysics) than politology. And so it is no wonder that there is nothing fixed or principled in their universe, except for the advance of the Revolution (which is a mere programme of total destruction). Otherwise, everything is flexible. Lenin (who himself had his fat bank accounts in Switzerland, also that isn’t a new phenomenon), encouraged his comrades to be as “OPPORTUNISTIC” as possible to win over the people’s support! This was at the time of his deceptive so-called New Economic Policy (NEP), launched in 1921, that was the embryonic blueprint for their “reforms” under Gorbachev 65 years later.

The “dedicated, selfless Marxist” has always been – let’s be honest – pure fiction. Among their rank and file, there might be some naive, deluded idealists, but this is not what so-called communism is about, and never has been. Allow me to go through your comment one by one:

Mind: There is no separation between the progress of the Revolution in the West and the strategic moves by Moscow and Beijing. It’s all interconnected. Read Diana West’s book, American Betrayal, and you SEE how deeply the United States has become undermined and infiltrated, beginning as early as the 1920s. So, there were a LOT of people, generation after generation, working for the cause of the world revolution, and ALL of them were always looking to Moscow (including Comrades Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders)! Communism is engaged in a multidimensional game, call it 3-D chess, that combines pressure from above with pressure from below, and pressure from without with pressure from within.

And: They use deception! They follow, in part, the strategic doctrine of Sun Tzu, which teaches to feign weakness when strong and vice versa. But the truism saying that the devil is dead-serious when he makes himself invisible, is especially true of their grand maneuvre thirty years ago. They fooled the West. No decommunisation programme, no change of personnel, only a superficial change in rhetoric to be invited to the West and exploit these openings for modernising both their infrastructure and especially their militaries. To parrot the conventional wisdom of the Russians and Chinese no longer being really communists simply doesn’t match the facts. They haven’t become capitalists; they simply use capitalism as a vehicle – to crush capitalism! Look at the renewed cultural revolution under Xi in China! Religious persecution is at new heights! Xi has even announced that he wants the sacred books of all religions to be rewritten so as to “harmonise” them with the communist state doctrine. Are these the actions of a pragmatic, no-longer-really-communist regime?

And it wasn’t even the case that Gorbachev’s perestroika and glasnost ended collectivism. On the contrary, the new programme, which was only possible on the basis of decades of preparation, increased collectivism! As Anatoliy Golitsyn explains, the former rigid “dictatorship of the proletariat” was replaced by a “state of the whole people” (which even reminds one of Hitler’s “Deutsche Volksgemeinschaft”). With controlled opposition everywhere, and genuine opposition long killed off, the state could now literally enact a play: a Potemkin play of apparent democracy and market economics! In reality, they were still following their plan of communist world conquest.

As for the seeming unlikeliness of a complete return to overt, repressive communism, just look at communist Venezuela (which is politically supported by Russia and China)! The same can happen in Russia, it’s already happening in China, and it might happen in the West, if the West isn’t careful.

Communism is perhaps the most cunning and perfidious movement (political or otherwise) the world has ever seen. Of course, they are not omniscient. But they have made strategy into a science, something the West cannot even dream of. And all those AntiFa troops, and all those “Democrats” who are now plain communists, and all those Marxist professors in the West’s universities, they are all loyal to the World Revolution. And what is the World Revolution’s headquarters, then as now? MOSCOW.

I urge you: Please, read Golitsyn!

      1. Sure, I’ll consider what Golitsyn had to say — I believe he defected in the early 90s, right? I’m open-minded, but deeply skeptical in general.

But I’m left to wonder why he would have defected at all, considering how diabolical and effective the communists’ plan was. Wouldn’t a firing squad, rather than a dacha, lie in his future?

This is like Obama railing about global warming and rising seas, but then spending $18 million for a home on Martha’s Vineyard, which is slightly above sea level.

Let me observe as well that the sheer nihilism to which you distill modern communism (ala Venezuela’s ruinous situation) will be its own undoing. There is no real ideal for the populace to strive for in that. It will result in the age-old elite/peasant dichotomy that hearkens back to the age of the Pharaohs. Extremely prone to coups and upheavals I would think.

      2. Golitsyn defected to the West in December 1961. He had information about KGB moles in NATO and the CIA. He also had information about a secret reorganization of the KGB under Alexander Shelepin in 1959. Golitsyn had learned a few details of a long range deception strategy (prior to his defection) which featured a fake split between Moscow and Beijing, outlined by Shelepin in a 1959 lecture. Golitsyn also had indications that KGB Gen. Nikolai Mironov was advocating a massive future deception strategy, requiring decades of preparation, modeled on Dzerzhinsky’s TRUST Operation, to coincide with the liberalization of the Soviet Bloc and a repeat of Lenin’s NEP. This strategy was calculated to disarm the West in advance of One Clenched Fist — a change in the global balance of power leading to Sino-Soviet ascendancy. Golitsyn published a book in 1984 predicting the collapse of the Soviet Union , warning the collapse would be controlled by “secret structures of the KGB and Party,” leading to a period of intensive communist infiltration and subversion of the United States, with anti-communists becoming isolated and mocked as “living in the past.” Of course, Golitsyn’s 140 falsifiable predictions have come true, with only five or six misses. Need I remind you — science is prediction.

      3. A quick and easy read that illustrates the deceptive and opportunistic nature of communism is Bella Dodd’s School of Darkness:

        Click to access index.php

She was a lawyer who was a member of the Communist Party of America in the 1930s and 1940s. This might not be as contemporary an account as some people might prefer to read, but in it she describes how the foot soldiers of the communist movement were often the poorest and lowest members of New York society. As she progressed through the ranks of the movement and began to associate with the upper levels, she encountered people with vast wealth, who had expensive tastes and lived in luxurious circumstances. She was eventually purged from the party for representing a landlord in a legal case against a tenant. There are also a couple videos on youtube of her speaking about her experience. She also addresses the idea of morality. The communist, she explains, will even push traditional morality on people if it is a useful tool to increase their power. Consider Mao’s war against prostitution. They may work to destroy traditional morality if the destruction of traditional norms serves to increase their power. A holy man I loved and admired once told me that evil is the absence of good. In and of itself, it is nothing. There is nothing tangible or solid about it. It is an empty bucket devoid of virtue. Fluid and deceptive, communism itself works the same way.

    3. Golitsyn defected in 1961. He was by far the most knowledgable and prescient communist defector ever to have reached the West. Sure, he sacrificed a privileged life and possibly a splendid career in the Soviet structures – solely to come over and warn the West of a new, much deadlier approach on the part of the communist bloc, that would be based on the most sophisticated deception and disinformation. This decision of conscience that he made when he defected already shows his integrity and moral compass. His life in America was a life in hiding, under an assumed identity, to protect him from assassination by the Soviets. Here’s an elaborate introduction I put on my blog several years ago (but do read his books): https://thecontemplativeobserver.wordpress.com/category/anatoliy-golitsyn/. It gives extensive quotes from his two books and, beyond that, lists a whole number of quotes and facts that vindicate Golitsyn totally.

  6. Hi!

President Trump says “nice” things about the leader of China.

What do you think of that?

    Is Trump naive?

    Thank you!

    1. Hi!

Is Trump planning the arrest of those who conspired against him?

      Rule of law?

None exist in this country any longer.

      Thank you!

      1. There are many strange rumors. I am assured there will be arrests, while others say there won’t be. I cannot tell what is going on behind the scenes. My guess is, unfortunately, people need to see the end of the country coming before they will think and act as they should.

  7. 65 years old here. I remember back in the Nixon reign that there were 15000 communists in upper levels of the Washington swamp. There were so many that for a short time the US government had to cease some operations.

  8. Hi Mr. Nyquist.
The Chinese are desperately trying to depose Bolsonaro in Brazil. There was a meeting in the Chinese embassy in Brasilia with the attendance of several state governors, including the governor of Sao Paulo, the richest state in the country.
Now the governors are shutting down the states and strangling our economy on purpose. It seems to me that the Army here (at least most of it) is loyal to the president.
Brazil produces 7x plus food than we need. We have oil and steal. The territory is enormous.
Do you think the Chinese may have some plan for military action here in Brazil if we continue our aliance with the US?

    1. China cannot act militarily against Brazil unless the United States has been neutralized. Governors getting marching orders from the Chinese should not be tolerated. That sounds like treason.
