Ayatollah Roadkill: A Case of Hit and Run

“The idea that a great war need not be the product of deliberate decision – that it can come because statesmen ‘lose control’ of events – is one of the most basic and most common notions in contemporary American strategic thought. A crisis, it is widely assumed, might unleash forces of an essentially military nature that overwhelm the political process and bring on a war that nobody wants. Many important conclusions about the risk of nuclear war and thus about the political meaning of nuclear forces, rest on this fundamental idea.”

Marc Trachtenberg[i]

President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump have decided to make war on Ukraine and Iran respectively. The decisions for war were deliberate. Yet the outcome, in each case, was very different. Putin expected to overrun Ukraine quickly, yet he has been stuck fighting there for almost three and a half years. President Trump declared victory Saturday night, after one airstrike, saying that the United States need not engage in further military action. Trump now claims there is a ceasefire, calling it the Twelve Day War.

I began working on this article before Trump said he would impose a “no fly zone” on Iran, calling for “unconditional surrender.” The situation has changed so many times during the writing of this article that I had to wait until the smoke cleared. Many were expecting American airstrikes against Iran last Thursday, but none came. Friday morning Trump spoke of a possible two week delay regarding his decision to attack. Then, on Saturday, American bombers dropped bunker buster bombs on Iran’s hardened nuclear facilities. Those who previously characterized Trump as a TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) were embarrassed. Trump’s zigzagging made his intentions hard to guess. After putting tire tracks over the Ayatollah’s face, Trump veered back into the “peace lane,” calling for negotiations.

As might be expected, Trump claimed success for the U.S. airstrikes Saturday night. National Public Radio is reporting that Iran’s nuclear program was only set back a few months. The New York Times has joined in. CNN likewise reports that the U.S. strikes against three of Iran’s nuclear facilities “did not destroy the core components of the country’s nuclear program and likely only set it back by months….”[ii] Other sources, however, tell a different story. I have been told by more reliable sources that the strikes were successful and Iran has suffered a more serious setback. Iran’s hardened bunkers, deep under the earth, were breached. The people inside were turned into blood pudding. The Iranians have lost dozens of generals and scientists. Surely, the stability of the regime has been threatened. Yet Trump says there will be no regime change. For the American president, this is a curious but surprisingly effective exit.

Assassination by drone attack was a major feature of the Israeli operation. It has been a decapitation campaign against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Civilian leaders have been left in their bunkers, though President Trump publicly toyed with the idea that he might kill the Ayatollah at some future date. We have never had a president who talked so casually, so publicly, so brutally. But these are new times. We long ago entered a liminal space linking an era of relative decency to absolute indecency. The Israelis and the Americans have regularly used drones to assassinate the leaders of terrorist organizations, and many have been killed (along with the usual collateral damage). Now the Israelis have targeted uniformed military officials of a significant country, and they have attacked civilian experts by sending drones against residential neighborhoods – against marked bedrooms where scientists were sleeping with their wives. One shudders to think what will happen when the Iranians become adept at these same tactics. As someone with moral authority once said: Those who live by the sword will die by the sword.[iii]

On Sunday Iran’s parliament approved closing the Strait of Hormuz. No actions to this end have been taken, so far. Iran has between 5,000 and 6,000 anti-ship mines to deploy into the narrow shipping lanes by means of fast boats, submarines, and aircraft. Iran also has thousands of anti-ship missiles. Presently, tanker traffic in the Strait of Hormuz has decreased. Some ships have turned back, others are waiting to see if the ceasefire will hold.

If Iran blocks the Strait of Hormuz the United States Navy will be obligated to force the strait open. American ships will be compelled to expose themselves to Iranian anti-ship missiles and drones if mine-clearing operations are to be conducted. Just as the Russian Black Sea Fleet exposed itself to Ukrainian anti-ship missiles and drones while blockading the Ukrainian coastline, the U.S. Navy would also suffer exposure (with likely ship losses) trying to alleviate a blockade of the Persian Gulf.

Modern naval units can be sunk or damaged rather easily because of the hitting power of missiles and drones. Ships are vulnerable. This truth can be seen in Ukraine’s decimation of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Significantly, the Russians lost the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet, the Slava class cruiser Moskva, which was hit by two R-360 Neptune anti-ship missiles on 13 April 2022 while operating 80 nautical miles south of Odesa at 1900 local time (GMT+3). The Moskva sank around 0300 on 14 April 2022 in stormy seas after an onboard fire caused a munitions explosion. Warships are especially vulnerable because of the fuel and ordinance they carry. Even a drone, hitting in the right place, could sink a major surface combatant. The fate of the Moskva demonstrates that naval warfare is a high-risk game, even against a weak opponent. The Moskva was a standard-sized heavy cruiser (CA) of 9,380 tons displacement, with a crew of 419 enlisted men and 66 officers. It was a formidable warship, armed with P-1000 Vulkan anti-ship missiles as well as anti-air missiles.

Some observers say that the U.S. Navy is better than the Russian Navy and would easily crush the Iranians in the Strait of Hormuz. The Iranians, most certainly, would be crushed. But they would launch many strikes against U.S. warships. The danger is not insignificant as Iran has a larger and more diverse inventory of anti-ship missiles compared to Ukraine. If Ukraine could sink the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, Iran is certainly capable of sinking U.S. warships sent to support minesweeping operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s Abu Mahdi cruise missile has a range of 1,000 kilometers and advanced guidance systems. The Raad and Qadir cruise missiles are older, with ranges of 350 and 300 kilometers respectively. The Nasr has a shorter-range of 35 kilometers and may be fired from fast-attack craft. Iran also has a new supersonic cruise missile with a range of 2,000 kilometers which supposedly came into service earlier this year.

Iran also has anti-ship ballistic missiles, like the Khalij Fars, which is designed to hit ships at sea. These missiles are difficult to intercept because of speed and trajectory. How accurate are these missiles? Supposedly not so accurate. (Please note: Only combat action will show how accurate these weapons are).

Besides the Iranian anti-ship missiles there are drones and mines. Iran has a large fleet of drones that can attack warships and tankers. This is a key weapon in any campaign to close the Persian Gulf. Iran’s kamikaze drones include the Shahed-136 which was reportedly used against moving vessels in the Gulf of Oman in 2023. Iran also has armed drones with anti-ship capabilities, like the Mohajer-6, a medium altitude, long-endurance drone that can carry precision guided munitions (i.e., Qaem-1 glide bombs). There is also the Iranian Navy’s Simorgh, which has been successfully tested against maritime targets. Then there is the Karrar Jet-powered kamikaze drone which can also carry anti-ship missiles like the Kowsar or Nasr-1. Iran also has boat-drones for ramming explosives into ships. Although it is difficult to know how many antiship drones the Iranians possess, Iran has developed large-scale drone production and may have thousands of these weapons. Please note: Drones are the ideal asymmetric weapons against American naval supremacy.

Last, but not least, Iran has 5,000 to 6,000 antiship mines. First, there are Iran’s moored mines, which can be anchored to the seabed and float at a predetermined depth, detonating on contact. These are effective in narrow channels like the Strait of Hormuz. Second, there are bottom mines which lie on the seafloor and can be triggered by the metal hull or seismic vibration of a passing ship. These mines are hard to clear and hard to detect. Third are drifting mines which are banned by international law, yet Iran has been known to use them. Drifting mines are free-floating and easy to deploy. Fourth come the limpet mines, which are smaller and may be magnetically attached to a passing ship’s hull by divers or midget submarines. These mines are used to cripple ships rather than sink them.

What are Iran’s methods for deploying mines?

Iran has a significant submarine fleet which can lay mines. Iran’s Russian-made kilo-class submarines are capable of laying 24 mines per sortie. Iran also has a fleet of midget submarines (of the Ghadir and Nahang classes) which can lay 8-16 mines per sortie. The importance of submarines is that American air power may not detect the minelaying operations conducted by submarines.  Iran also has a large fleet of fast attack craft under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRCGN). These boats are small, fast, and numerous. Stopping them from laying mines may not be easy. In addition, Iran can use converted civilian ships to lay mines; fishing boats, for example, or cargo ships. Add to this the use of modified cargo planes to drop mines into the water.

Presently Trump has kept the Iranians from blocking the Strait of Hormuz by calling a halt to Israeli attacks, and holding out an olive branch to Tehran. Trump flatters the Iranians by saying that Iran can become a great trading nation. Trump tells them to forget about nuclear weapons. Will this work? It seems to be working, at least for the short term. Of course, the Iranian regime is going to want revenge.

On its side, the Israeli government is not entirely happy with President Trump’s imposition of a ceasefire. Dependent on American help, Israel has no choice but to follow Trump’s orders. President Trump knows that a battle in the Strait of Hormuz could spell disaster for his presidency. Allies like Japan are vulnerable if oil supplies are cut off, and a global depression could be triggered as markets become fragile. Thus, Iran’s preparations to close the strait have paid off. This is why the regime is going to survive. This is why Trump is suddenly against regime change. Furthermore, the American people do not want to fight another war in the Persian Gulf, and the President’s own party is split over this issue. Trump made a sensible decision, despite the fact that the Iranian regime remains in place.

Hawks will criticize President Trump for terminating hostilities early. Hawks also criticized George H.W. Bush for ending the First Gulf War without taking down Saddam Hussein’s regime. Most observers agree, however, that President George W. Bush’s 2003 invasion of Iraq was a mistake. In the current situation, with Russia fighting Ukraine in eastern Europe, a long-term conflict in the Persian Gulf would benefit Russia. The United States and NATO, along with Japan, could lose their footing. Given the fact that Iran probably has nuclear weapons, there is also the risk of a nuclear escalation. In his book on strategy, Marc Trachtenberg explained that the disaster of World War I was not the intended outcome of European statesmen during the July Crisis of 1914. The First World War was, in some sense, an “inadvertent war.” This is the danger if fighting is allowed to continue.

“The term ‘inadvertent war’” can have many meanings,” wrote Trachtenberg. “It might bring to mind the full range of factors that can lead to a war that nobody wants or expects at the beginning of a crisis – miscalculation, misapprehensions, and misjudgment; the impulsiveness of statesmen and the deviousness of ambassadors….”[iv]

The most admired analyst and historian of the origins of the First World War, Luigi Albertini, explained that “it is undeniable that in 1914 neither the Kaiser nor his Chancellor wanted a European War…” As noted by Trachtenberg, Albertini “had stressed the role of miscalculation and bungling in bringing on the conflict. Given that no one wanted a great war, it was a ‘source of amazement’ that it came about anyway.”[v]

If we examine Trump’s statements about bombing Iran, we find that he does not intend to become embroiled in a long war against the Iranian military. Subsequently, Trump has proved to be adept at estimating the Iranian response and muting it. If the ceasefire holds Trump will have achieved something remarkable.

  1. I tend to be on the hawkish side of the issue with Iran, but you have given me pause to think deeper on it, Mr. Nyquist. With what is to come with Russia and China, Trump may have indeed made the right choice here.

    1. we should assume that all moves on our side are calculated /verified on the top notch AI super systems. Too much to lose , risks are very high

Yeah. The Islamic Republic is an illegitimate usurper regime that deserves whatever happens to it. But then again, it is also a crypto-communist country in all but name. I can definitely see Moscow and Beijing trading off a pawn (Tehran) to keep a queen in the grand scheme of their strategy. Or hell, even to gain a new piece or two in the medium-to-long term.

Strategic Mirage: How POTUS Orchestrates War Terminations Through Deception.

In the fractured arena of global power, President Trump has executed a pattern that is at once striking in its reach and deceptive in its nuance: a series of swift, unanticipated interventions that neutralize emerging conflicts—yet leave international structures tangled in confusion and admiration. It is not chaos—but controlled chaos, nested within a grand strategy of institutional distortion and psychological dominance.

    1. Iran-Israel War: Hard Punch, Fast Exit, Ceasefire On Command
On June 13, Israeli jets struck Iranian nuclear facilities. Days later, U.S. B-2 bombers and submarine-launched Tomahawks obliterated Iran’s Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites in Operation Midnight Hammer — crippling a nascent nuclear threat. Within 24 hours, Trump announced a ceasefire, framing it not as diplomacy but as the byproduct of strength.
This is the Nyquistian strategy of maskirovka: strike hard enough to unbalance the enemy, then recede just enough to claim moral high ground. The result: each skirmish ends with a thriller, yet leaves adversaries disoriented—and under the illusion of American control

    2. India–Pakistan Calm: Credit Claimed but Quietly Delegated
Trump claimed the peace between India and Pakistan as his own achievement — yet Modi publicly rejected U.S. mediation
. He declared on Truth Social, “I stopped the war,” even as New Delhi bristled at foreign claims.
What is this? A strategic myth-making—rooted in Nyquist’s insight that the narrative can be a weapon. If adversaries hesitate to refute, the myth takes hold. Even without direct intervention, U.S. power—channeled through back-channels—resets conflict thresholds

    3. Pakistan Warmup & China Nervousness
Hosting Pakistan’s army chief at the White House was historic, calculated, and hysterical in its optics
. The move signals a shift toward axis disruption—targeting Beijing’s alliances and balancing regional deterrence. The unpredictability, not the policy content, is the weapon.

    4. NATO and EU: Guidance Through Discomfort
At the Hague Summit, Trump cast doubt on Article 5, insisting defense commitments “depend on your definition”
. Allies responded with increased defense pledges—on his terms. This choreographed tension coerces compliance without formal treaties. It’s maskirovka disguised as strategic pressuring.

    5. Outcome for Ukraine: Recursive Strength Embraced
Amid these regional maneuvers is Ukraine—the core test case. Ukrainian forces have demonstrated drone-led dominance, recursive defense architecture, and digital warfare renaissance. These advances are recognized in Western defense circles
    .
Sooner or later, NATO will need Ukraine not as a charity case but as the linchpin of pressure: a living weapon deployed—not on the battlefield alone—but in the deep structures of Western collective strategy.
The Nyquistian Insight: Strategy as Illusion
Yes: Trump’s tactics are erratic on the surface—but that is by design. Consider how:
Each military strike is precise, measured, and swiftly followed by diplomacy.
Each ceasefire claim is a stage direction, not a theatrical climax.
Each regional intervention refracts American power through proxies, illusions, and diplomatic veils.
It’s not that Trump is omnipotent—it’s that he is strategically opaque. His real power lies in the fog he creates, in the nested lies that build consensus by confusion.
    What This Means for Ukraine
Ukraine is not an aid program. It is a strategic friction zone. From the maskirovka plays in Iran, India, Pakistan, NATO, and China, the pressure builds upward, and end-game clarity emerges:
Ukrainian military superiority validated through real-time performance.
Western institutional cohesion forged via strategic discomfort.
A future narrative in which Ukraine becomes NATO’s defensive anchor, justifying collective security paradigms.
Political capital for the U.S. President—one who delivered steady peace through controlled pressure.
Ukraine’s outcome is not just survival, but elevation—on security, defense, and diplomatic metrics—through a system of strategic recursions.
Conclusion: The Nested Maskirovka Strategy Works
Trump’s foreign actions are reminiscent of Nyquist’s formula:
“Deception is the lifeblood of strategy; clarity kills the lie.”
    Every move has layers:
    Bomb Iran—but emphasize ceasefire.
Mediate Pakistan but let India deny it.
Undermine NATO but call allies to spend more.
The result is a disordered order—an American-led balance optimized by breaking and reviving conflict cycles, never letting any system settle into static opposition.
Ukraine stands to gain more than the sum of its parts. It is the strategic lever that transforms confusion into solid defense. As Ukraine succeeds, Putin’s signal fades, China’s ambition recalibrates, NATO reboots, and the EU edges closer—on American terms.

  7. Great article, as always. Based on the article, do you think what Alex said about Trump is correct? It seems to me that his decision to call for a ceasefire was damaging to Russia, but it was desirable to Iran — thought only if one doesn’t realize that Russia and Iran are strategically allied. Overall striking them and then trying to make peace was a wise decision. So does it make sense to assume that Trump really just played dumb and didn’t wanted to show his cards? Even considering all of the damage he did to Ukraine and all of the questionable people in this admin. Thanks for your work, and God bless you

    1. It is hard to say, but after the NATO meeting where Trump was positive about Article 5, Putin has to be worried.

      1. kremlin always was deadly scared by Trump. DJT is perceived in ru as THE TOP BOSS. Always. This goes both: for the leadership and for the public This is given and exploited by our side heavily all the time.

    2. no damage from DJT to Ukraine, THE OPPOSITE: the perception of Trump in Ukraine did a miraculous job: Ukrainians realized a need to built their own better weapons AND WE DID> since 2021 myself part of a team helping developing our own DARPA . It is running full speed as we speak. we did it only because some in Ukraine made up their minds about being independent for real. This is a setup we always needed: PARTNERSHIP not a client state

Below is a recent post on Telegram from a guy, claiming to have insider information. It’s crazy and hopefully not true.

“Dear subscribers and guests of the channel!
The team of U.S. President Donald Trump has noticeably stepped up negotiations with members of the Russian politburo about ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. This time, the Americans are talking not just about a 30-day ceasefire, but about a lasting peace.

It seems that Trump, having taken on the role of peacemaker, not only wants to secure this image for himself but also to engage in redrawing spheres of influence. The thing is, the American president’s team is essentially offering peace in Ukraine in exchange for a reshaping of influence zones in Europe.

Specifically, the Russian leadership has been asked to consider several topics, including: the idea that Narva is a Russian city, the Suwałki Corridor (both virtual and real), and political control over the Baltic States.

According to preliminary information and hints from the American side, Trump wants to build a new military-political bloc based on NATO to counter China—while getting rid of some “dead weight” (likely referring to a few Eastern European countries).

The current U.S. president prefers to be friends and cooperate with Russia, even suggesting the creation of new joint political alliances and institutions.

For now, the Russian leadership is trying to process these proposals, but Trump is pushing for a quick response, saying there’s no time to waste.”

I wonder if Trump would give up several Eastern European countries in order to save their population from being nuked?

    1. or and much more likely we will liquidate хуйло and all the rest as we did in iran with some. Simple as that.

    2. Valentina, I agree. I hope this is not correct. I  have heard VP Vance today discuss foreign policy positions in the Middle East with regard to Israel. He said the administration would like each country, including Israel, to take more responsibility for its own defense going forward.

      Why?

From what I know, our financial situation is so precarious as a country, we are telling our allies  (and enemies) that this is the new reality out of financial necessity.

We will have to produce our way to prosperity and with 37 trillion dollars in debt, that is going to be difficult to say the least.

Couple that with the President’s fear of nuclear war and his love of building beauty, his pro America and pro life posture, this position of wanting to not be the policeman in the Middle East is logical.

In his mind, with the successful attack on the Iranian nuclear facilities, he has made some bold moves on the chessboard of international politics that give us an edge for now.

With regard to Ukraine and Russia, we need to wait and see. What happens in Iran will have a bearing on the war in Ukraine.

What concerns me most is Putin’s intentions. I believe our President shares this concern.

Having just finished the Wheelbarger interview and learning of the Russian arson (sabotage) of 6 German military vehicles on a German base was to me one of the most disturbing revelations.  Surely President Trump knows all about this.

What Jeff has demonstrated repeatedly is that the Russians are deadly serious.  President Trump has to have a plan, and as Jeff writes we know he is gambling with the lives of billions.

If Putin does attack a NATO country,  we will have to fight. Trump does not want that for us, for you, or anyone else.

      1. The Russians are fighting a war which they are preparing to expand. The West has fallen behind in sustaining and building large forces — and nuclear forces.

        1. CONCERNED Avatar
          CONCERNED

Great point, but then it needs to be added that the overall design of this deplorable situation also comes from the Kremlin as part of the long-term communist strategy.

Manuilski said it, and even Kruychkov, then the Russian main ideologue, in 1950s said that there can never be peaceful coexistence of ideologies.

Moscow wants this war in Ukraine to continue, to demoralize and drain the US and the EU until the time to hit hard comes around. Thus the opinion, about Trump hitting Iran now, is that Moscow did prefer that to be done because Russians are not yet ready to begin, and so it would look bad on Trump if he didn’t do anything about it, since Netanyahu already began to attack them, thus Trump had no choice but to get involved and this in order to cover up his own mission for Moscow, which is yet to come….in its right time.

Of course they will continue their communist subversion operations inside the US and EU etc. as that is their main weapon, so that for example the NYC Mayoral candidate, the Muslim communist (which is an evident contradiction itself, but so be it…) is the example how far these Moscow CPUSA assets have progressed, and that no matter how this particular election will end up, the demoralizing effect has been achieved by the communists, Moscow behind it as this is their main weapon, and a very important military tactic before the actual communist war begins.

Of course the official US statement on the subject of Iran and Ukraine and so on, will not change, one only has to watch what the WH and the Kremlin are saying, so that it can be plainly seen that there now not so many differences and Trump moreover is establishing more cooperation with the Bolsheviks as if that was something that a freedom loving country should be permitted to engage in…so the initial analysis about Trump being Soviet communist asset stands firmly on its factual foundation…and he will just continue in it, as this is what the KGB Kremlin wants to be done.

      2. Dear Lady, the regime in RU HAS SPECIFICS in “how it functions”.
It was designed since 1991 with intention to 1) keep the nukes from destruction, planned by Gorbachev and Reagan to be done in 15 ys from 1985 to 2000 . Nukes are the foundation of their gangsterism. 2) that was done in a break up of the union manner an d it worked for them 3) break up also was done when lots of assets were left behind to be activated later in the phase of 4) re-absorbtion, as they publicly demanded in 2021 from US gov: “leave the Eastern Europe to RU to have an upper hand, take away your NATO”

This kind of regime is not legit , so it needs(!) support for legitimization or it can NOT function, orders are given but not followed. Regime like this falls fast lower then 30% of support- THIS MEANS IT FAILES and needs additional re-ligitimization.

This is why this regime from its very first days is engaged in permanent conflicts on perimeter: they claim they GAIN territories and sell it to their drunken public as “GREAT achievements”

We follow closely the RATINGS and we do our own polling. So we know whats what. IN 2014 they had a big problem and in 2022 again, hence aggressive war and even more aggressive

Other problems accumulate: in 2014 military denied putin request to attack Ukrainian forces, they just did not want to. So the attack was limited

The ISSUES are complex but easily identifiable and needs some work, real professional work in many areas. But it is no rocket science, we can handle it easy as we do.

We are winning and communism will be gone.

    3. This is something being pushed by the usual suspects here on the American side. This is very possibly true. I hope not. But it may be.

      1. Jeff, what do your sources close to Trump say on this matter? Is Trump trying to sweeten the peace deal by offering parts of NATO’s eastern flank to Russia, in return for Russia ending the war in Ukraine? But that’s only one side of the equation. For there to be any peace deal that’s acceptable to Moscow, Trump would also have to get Ukraine to capitulate and convince Europe to stop supporting Ukraine. You have at times expressed doubt about whether Russia’s military build-up in Belarus is really aimed at NATO, and pointed out that it could also be about encircling Ukraine. Whatever Russia’s intention, the build-up hasn’t gone unnoticed –it seems to have scared Europe into making a commitment to rearm within the next 5 years. Could there be a carrot-and-stick approach at work here, with Russia threatening to attack Europe and Trump promising to uphold NATO’s article 5, in return for Europe agreeing to make a few concessions to Russia? What would be the ramifications of such a realignment for Europe’s security?

So far, the Trump admin can’t seem to stop conceding Russian talking points.

NATO expansion ‘fair’ concern for Putin, Kellogg says
        https://t.co/s1Ha7IkSUe

The average monthly aid to Ukraine under Trump 2.0 is a fraction of what it was in the previous 3 years. It’s good that Europe is stepping up, but it’s a worrying sign of Trump’s intention. It doesn’t look like US sanctions on Russia are going to happen either. Without Trump signaling his support for a sanctions bill, Republicans won’t embarrass their own president by handing him a bill that he will just veto.

        https://x.com/SS44614623/status/1936406827023159778

        1. Everyone there is maneuvering and the situation is opaque. I think Trump is under some kind of obligation to Moscow, but I do not know how this works in practice. He is not going to go against Putin, I think. But he might delay giving Putin what he wants. The Iran strike has given Trump some cover for a future move than hurts Ukraine and Europe worse than what we have seen. But, Trump does not want to do something that will destroy his own position domestically. How does he deliver what he owes without destroying himself? Trump is not a simple person to analyze. Agents of influence are there to assist. But useful idiots are more useful, because they do not know they are advocating national suicide and effecting personal suicide.

          1. “The Iran strike has given Trump some cover for a future move than hurts Ukraine and Europe worse than what we have seen.”

What do you mean by that, can you explain? Does hurting Russia’s ally give Trump cover to do what Russia wants without destroying himself domestically? You’ve suggested before that the Iran strike would give Russia a convenient precedent to attack allies who are looking to acquire their own nuclear deterrent. Russia didn’t waste any time with hinting that. See below.

            https://x.com/NOELreports/status/1938625137684697299
The Kremlin has labeled Estonia’s readiness to host NATO aircraft capable of carrying nuclear weapons as a “danger,” …
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this poses an “immediate threat” to Russia …

You think Trump may be under some kind of obligation to Moscow. Interesting. Trump’s absolute refusal to do anything that hurts Russia stands in stark contrast to the way he’s reversed himself on every other issue (tariffs, attack on Iran, trade with China, Chinese students in the US, etc). He’s certainly not his usual freewheeling self when it comes to dealing with Russia.

          2. Ukrainian intelligence reports that Russia is preparing for operations against Europe. What does this mean? Ukraine has not revealed this publicly. Why is Trump treating Russia so carefully, so tenderly, since Putin has proved to be a beast? Trump is obviously under some kind of pressure. The Russians have something with which they are leveraging him. Trump’s inner circle wanted to dump NATO early on and go with Russia. But there was a backlash. They retreated from this. But they still want to join with Russia. The question is a matter of political maneuvering. Trump’s “victory” over Iran and enforced Middle East peace now gives him political capital to “make peace” in Europe by demonstrating a similar even-handedness. At least, he will claim to being even-handed. But it won’t be. People are happy with the result in the Middle East, and they are now more willing to consider Trump’s ideas for Europe. Trump will likely claim some common formula, or some conceptual relationship between the two conflicts. He will position himself as an authoritative peacemaker. Also, success and perceived toughness against Iran will translate into perceived toughness against Russia — although there is none. Can he get away with it? Maybe he can, maybe he cannot. The Ukrainians see Russian military operations being prepared against Europe and suppose the Russians are losing their grip on reality. Perhaps we have all missed the context. The Russians have prepared a provocation, and something will soon develop from this. What is it, specifically? I do not know. https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-preparing-military-operations-europe-142912946.html

          3. 💯

          4. In addition to useful idiots like Vance and Hegseth, Trump is also appointing a lot of pro-Kremlin shills and people with suspicious family or business ties to Russia (Tulsi, Elon, Darren Beattie, Sergio Gor, Steve Witkoff, Kingsley Wilson and Elbridge Colby at the DoD, Ed Martin – Trump’s pick for US Attorney for DC, Paul Ingrassia – nominated to head the US Office of Special Counsel, etc). Maybe it’s part of Trump’s obligation to Moscow?

EyepatchMan has compiled a lot of information on the Russian connections of some of these appointees. Here is more on Darren Beattie at the State Department. His aunt was a bona-fide communist who moved to Moscow in 1991!

          5. Laura: Yes. The administration is a disaster. It’s not just one mole. It is a system of creatures orbiting red planets, red stars, red galaxies. But nobody sees red.

          6. I think he is most definitely under obligation to Moscow. And he had been communicating with Putin before he decided to strike Iran. I too saw it as providing some kind of cover for something against Ukraine.

Even staging military equipment and personnel in the Middle East prior to the “Twelve Day War”, took away fuses fir some 20,000 drone defense missiles that I believe Ukraine had actually paid for, but I know were promised to them.

I don’t think Trump hit Iran without Putin’s approval. Iran being another arm of Russia, and Trump being under Putin’s thumb. There are conflicting reports, but I don’t think this attack really accomplished a lot. Enriched uranium was moved from Fordow before the attacks. There are reports there is another, newer underground facility near Natanz.

And it’s really telling that Iran won’t allow the IAEA to make inspections, so how convenient is that?

And really, Russia/China could just move nukes into Iran pretty much anytime they want to.

And now Vance goes around touting the “Trump Doctrine”, and some senator nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

I think it’s all a lot of theatrics, approved and manipulated from Moscow.

          7. I also think it provides pretext for the Russia/China bloc to attack us or whoever else they want to attack when they get ready.

          8. I think it also served to shore up Trump’s image here at home. He was showing such abject acquiesence to Putin, getting g the TACO moniker, that this could boost his standing among the hawks and the isolationists, to support if he chooses to focus our attention away from Ukraine and onto some other “enemies”. The hawks are pleased Iran was bombed. Those who don’t want anymore “forever wars”, are being brought around to admire the “Trump Doctrine”, using major force, then stopping and declaring it all over.

So, maybe some terrorists proxies of Russia attack us on American soil next, or some such scenario. Gabbard’s rhetoric has been setting the stage for conflict with Islamic terrorism anyway, in my opinion. That will justify totally abandoning and forgetting about Ukraine.

          9. This Trump doctrine could be applied to Ukraine. Imagine how this could work for Moscow.

      ——–
Excelent point. It should be added to this that Trump and Moscow don’t differ in the result – they both are directing Ukraine to give up its sovereign territory which doesn’t belong to Moscow at all, and as an agressor (a communist agressor) Moscow doesn’t have any moral nor judicial standing in this matter, and Trump is helping a terrorist communist nation to obtain the evidently stolen territory from the now more or less (by the US – Trump) abandoned Ukraine. What a shameful disgrace this is ! The Yalta betrayal revisited (by Trump).

Iran is and has been for many years now a communist country, run by Moscow assets, disguised in the Islamic religious fanatism, and there is no say how many of these terrorists are in fact Soviet born agents….(as for example is the example of Afghanistan, of even Iraq…).

One has to wonder whether the attack was meant to silence the analisys about the whole situation in context of Moscow and Trump and now the Chinese deals Trump is making, which in fact are much more dangerous to the US national security than the Iranian situation could be.

But the article points out how difficult it would be to attack Iran or to have to deal with the drone war Iran can unleash, but this problem is too late to deal with, even if it becomes necessary (and it is necessary to properly and PUBLICLY assess the enemy – i.e. to call Iran as puppet of Moscow, a communist KGB run country that has a dangerous potential to be used by Moscow as a scapegoat “Islamic terrorist” country to attack the US and blackmail EU with an extensive Russian nuclear potential)…and so the overall enthusiasm of marginal success is highly misplaced for the reasons that these stages are no doubt foreseen by the Moscow communist planners in the initial stages of their WW3 prep-work, to lure the US into a conflict from which the US will have no other options but to engage and loose at the end…

But the main point is that Trump, although to destroy the Iranian nuclear facilities that now cannot be used for a long time for that evil purpose it was used, there are indications that the nuclear components and research was removed prior to the US attacks elsewhere, which signifies an (frnkly said expected) US intelligence failure, a situation that the US public has been maneuvered to accept by several deceades long KGB penetration of the US Intel and military services, and thus any such sensitive intel data about the attack on Iran was no doubt supplied through Moscow KGB/GRU intelligence agents and assets working within the US military and strategic planning and its DNI oversight.

The whole idea of Moscow to preposition the US for the fall and ultimate defeat at the end, is the objective here, to make believe that Trump’s successful mission will be followed by yet more successful peace negotiations and no change to the communist regime of Iran at all, because Moscow needs that regime and its cover to unleash the “Islamic terrorist” attack against the United States and to have the blame for it pointed tovards Iran, and that is what is not being observed nor comprehended at all.

Once the communist enemy and his cunning deception and evils are not fully recognized, as the overall analysis about Mr. Trump’s long-term involvement with Moscow and communism is concerned, then of course such an objective is rejected, even now and at the late stage, and to set aside its accomplishment means that to Mr. Trump and those who follow his policies (and them in blind expectations of successful new accomplishments yet to come), it is admissible to hold negotiations and to sign cooperation treaties with a communist terrorist country, which an abominable moral decay Moscow in times past could only hope for, now obtaining it for free from the White House.

Although it is never too late to fix the problem, yet it is too late to secure the right policy towards the whole Moscow run communist criminal and terrorist bloc, because that evil bloc is simply too powerful and fully loaded with nuclear and bio-chem hardware which the US cannot fully defend itself against, on more than one front that is, which, to accomplish such a dangerous situation, is the communist objective in the first place.

So then one would ask – what can be done ?

Replace Trump with a true anti-communist leader, and remove all communist and pro-communist assets from all US agencies and departments, even at the cost of terminating them, like the FBI and NSA and ATF and so on. But this requires the understanding and the will to do this, of all who are willing to do this, for the sake of the survival of their liberty and true justice, and that remains the tragic question of these our times which many are not willing to answer, perhaps of the fear that (to correct the article’s “scriptural” quote) “…for all that take the sword shall perish with the sword…” (St. Matthew 26 : 52 – Douay-Rheims 1635).

A true leader will aways remember that when diplomacy with communist atheistic terrorist nations is contemplated, then the country doing so will only receive the overall communist deception and at the and non-compliance, and will loose everything that has been agreed to, be it through the peace through strength or not, that simply doens’t work with communist fanatics, as they love strength and hate peaceful coexistence with the hated capitalist enemy….

At the end God will visit such people who have given consent to any evil, including their acceptance of evil, this communist evil, as the necessary step towards their security being protected, as all that is done by evil and be evil people, and be evil loving people, ends up in evil and nothing but evil at the end….

It’s an irony (and a fair improbability) that the West should be saved by moral idiot and “last man”, Donald Trump. Ever zig-zagging, ever guided by “instinct”, which proves him sometimes right, sometimes wrong, with no understanding of what Moscow is (unless he knows all to well!) and that there is a firm communist Moscow-Beijing alliance (that still includes an entire world bloc), he is indeed a Mister Magoo, turning the field of world politics into a risky (and reckless) experimental laboratory of try-and-error.

So, he supposedly “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear weapons programme. Good for him. But what will he do about Ukraine? He still hasn’t committed himself to any substantial support for Ukraine, for all the known reasons. But it is there where, more than anywhere else, the future of the world is going to be decided. Yet he continues dreaming of an “understanding” with the political criminals in Moscow and cannot see the Moscow-Beijing axis. He has all these strange National Bolshevik types around him (will he ever “fire” any one of them?), and he notoriously considers himself the greatest thing since sliced bread in U.S. and world politics, certainly worthy of the Nobel Peace Prize, if not some pagan memorial shrine for coming generations to venerate his epochal legacy.

No, this spectacle is merely revolting. A fellow with the intellectual wherewithal (and psychology) of a lousy second-hand car dealer, if not a pimp, is now supposed to be the last hope of mankind. While the Marxist Pope from Peru (who despises his native America) castigates the operation and cryptically warns of “arrogance”. Why does a Pope need to utter such a foolishness (and falsehood) as saying that “war does not solve problems”. Well, wars are sometimes necessary so as to ward off aggressors, right, Mr. Peacenik? But he is just a Marxist and should better wear a Che-Guevara T-shirt so everybody can see what he is about.

At the same time, the bozo department of imagined “celebrities” gathers in Venice for a high-end wedding of the chief bozo of them all. And Trump’s beloved beautiful princess is there too. The chief bozo is staying – of course – at a Renaissance-palazzo-turned-luxury-hotel, showing off both his fantastic wealth and his lack of imagination. Venice, the world’s favourite bedroom for honeymooners for God knows how long, isn’t a particularly original choice of location. He could have picked some Mogul fortress in Rajasthan, the breathtaking mountain sceneries of Canada, he could have easily afforded renting an entire castle in France or elsewhere. He could have gone to places like Oman or Morocco or maybe some magically beautiful place in Japan. No, being another case of “last man”, he chose the most blatant and most popular cliché: Venice. For the Kims and Ivankas and Oprahs, it’s in any case way more than good enough. All they need is a stage. One wonders why the wedding doesn’t take place in Hollywood, where it belongs.

And their great adored – or hated – American Maharaja is writing big history – or so he thinks. Will all this end well? How can it end well?

You do understand of course that to call somebody who is and has always been a layman and not so much as a valid Catholic Priest (MUCH LESS a true Pope) – to call such an impostor the Pope is a heretical contradiction of the valid and fully binding Catholic Church and Divine Law ?

Prevost and the rest of the Novus Ordo Sect (yes, that is all these apostates are and nothing but a non-Catholic Sect), they are all excommunicated apostates from the Christian Faith, which is nothing else but Catholic Tradition, and so such apostates do not have any authority to assemble in a valid Papal Conclave and elect one of their own to the Papacy, that is automatically null and utterly void.

So it doesn’t matter what else this Prevost apostate believes, and yes it looks like he is one of the assets Moscow would prefer inside the Vatican, but such enemies of the Church do not have any authority nor jurisdiction to do anything in the Catholic Church as they are all excommunicated and cannot assemble and vote for the true Pope.

But Moscow uses them to spread the communist propaganda among those who still call themselves Catholic, and so on, but of course that must be absolutely rejected on the premise that such false and in fact heretical doctrines come from the excommunicated apostate Sect and not from the Catholic Church. Those who accept such false doctrines are thus on the same level as those who dare to produce them – excommunicated, Can. 2314, 1917 Code of Canon Law.

And this Prevost does NOT in any way possess the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven (i.e. the supernatural assistance of the Holy Ghost promised by Christ Our Lord to the Successors of St. Peter, the Apostle and 1st Pope), as the essential practice of the Catholic religion and the Magisterial Authority of the Church is NEVER granted to such or any other enemies of God, apostate sectarians as this Prevost, or his “predecesor” in the usurped and stolen Vatican, the communist Party connected Bergoglio (who is paying for his evils in Hell already – as they cannot absolve themselves from such heretical lies and false religion this horrible Sect of the devil professes.) This is not open to discussion as the Divine Law of the Faith and Church Law forbids it.

That’s why this Novus Ordo Sect does not teach the truth about Russian etc. communism either, they are in on it themselves, serving the devil in destroying souls in millions over the years. Avoid them at all cost or God will require payment.

Church Law cannot be anoying, it is binding in conscience, and only heretics reject it, to their own loss. Be careful what you say on the subject, God is watching. If there is a broken record, that it the rejection of the Catholic Church Laws regarding Papacy and valid Conclave, and such rejection is of course a heretical denial of the Catholic Church’s Authority, which Authority comes from God, as the Holy Scripture also teaches. Just a reminder that this is the truth, and it is the obligation of a true Catholic to react when such a false statement is made (over and over made…). Prevost is an apostate layman impostor and nothing but a layman impostor, that is not a broken record but the canonical and theological and doctrinal truth, and most importantly Divine Law of God.

  11. You know the oldest political cartoon in American history is a picture of a snake cut up into 13 sections. Underneath are the words Unite or Die. The cartoon was drawn by no other than Dr. Benjamin Franklin who was pointing out that so much squabbling between the colonies would result in America’s defeat.

We are in the same moment again. With all these leftists, infiltrators, and foreign enemies whose number one desire is to see us gone, this is an existential crisis for our country, indeed western civilization.

Our faith whatever it may be strengthens us to stand, teach, speak, work, fight if we must. But it is time. It is time to unite or die.

So what does unite mean? That is a very good question. Are we United here on the information that Jeff and his sources have provided? I think so. We may have questions, comments for Jeff, but do we doubt what our military has done? What Putin’s intentions are? No. I don’t think so. So, we are United on these points. What must we do?

Let’s share this information with those who might be open.

    1. Sharing is good.

    2. Dear Lady, i want to share the expectations we had since 1990s regarding what is going on today. We foresaw a right wing shift based on understanding of general cyclic nature of everything. The theory for it originates from ancient Vedic texts and is also confirmed in many other schools of though and science. In political science these kind of ideas are known coming from traditionalists , as Italian Julius Evola. Of course the enemy is aware: dugin provided for it. This is why kremlin positioned this facade figure mr “putin” as a “conservative” of the right wing: dugin knew also about the coming conservative turn or revolution some say.

Today it is here. It is going to be big, may be lasting much longer then a century, unknown yet, but the left has no chance. Cycle is finished. As Jeff used to say 25-15 years back : “everybody is on the left” IS NO LONGER TRUE. The opposite is coming.

I watched a Youtube video of a man who investigated one aspect of possible Russian influence on the US president. This is a summary of that video. I took notes in Russian and run through AI to translate it, so the language turned out to be a little weird, but the message is accurate and very interesting to me.

“It appears that Donald Trump may have a deeply embedded spy within his inner circle—someone who significantly influences both domestic and foreign policy—yet the Trump administration seems unwilling to take any action about it.

After the election, Trump appointed businessman and political figure Sergio Gor as Director of Personnel for the White House. Gor had performed impressively during Trump’s campaign—raising $72 million for it—and became a frequent guest at Trump’s estate in Florida. He had previously worked in the Senate and Congress, but the campaign elevated him to rising star status. Gor also founded and led the publishing house Winning Publishers, in partnership with Donald Trump Jr.

As Director of Personnel, Gor is responsible for appointing individuals to various positions, including political advisors and aides. He determines who gets security clearances and access to classified information. Every candidate is supposed to undergo a thorough vetting process.

Gor himself, however, has reportedly never passed such a vetting. There’s a 100-page questionnaire that must be completed—even White House janitors are required to fill it out. But Gor claims he doesn’t need to. He argues that filling out the form makes one a target of the “deep state.”

Gor claims he was born in Malta in 1986 and moved to the U.S. with his parents at age 12. But when The New York Post reached out to Maltese authorities for his birth records, they were told no such person was ever born there. When asked about this, Gor simply replied that he was “definitely not born in Russia.”

Senator J.D. Vance stated that Gor is doing an excellent job, and everyone in the White House seems very pleased with him. He’s widely defended and praised as an outstanding personnel manager.

However, journalists began digging deeper. Gor had long worked in the Senate, the House, and even Fox News. He raised funds for the Republican Party. Colleagues described him as likable and charismatic. He often spoke of Malta as a wonderful country, dined at Maltese restaurants, and said he attended school there. But locals recalled that his last name was originally Gorokhovsky—not a Maltese surname.

Maltese authorities confirmed he had indeed attended kindergarten and school there, spending about 10 years in Malta before leaving at age 12. But where did he spend the first two years of his life?

This story began to attract not only journalistic attention, but also the interest of cybersecurity experts.

IT specialists discovered that Gor had worked on Steve King’s congressional campaign and had registered the campaign website domain. A specialized service showed that Gor used his personal email to register that domain, and the same email was also used to register his own publishing company’s domain.

The password associated with that email account (a set of 12 random numbers) was traced across multiple services—including Russian platforms like Yandex, Rambler, and Mail.ru. There, linked addresses included:

    sergiogor.ru

    sergio-yandex.ru

    sgoryachev999@rambler.ru

    goryachevsergey@yandex.ru

    goryachevsergeyyandex.com

From a publicly available database, it was revealed that the address goryachevsergey@yandex.ru had been used in Russian databases under the name Sergey Anatolyevich Goryachev, born November 20, 1980—not 1986—in Saratov, Russia.

Coincidences do happen. But it’s hard for the author to believe that Sergio Gor, rising star of Trump’s administration, just happens to use the same password as a random Sergey Goryachev from Saratov, Russia.

It appears likely that Goryachev’s parents were illegal Russian intelligence operatives. He was taken to Malta at age 5 or 6 and raised to blend in as a local. There, he was probably told he was Russian and had a mission to serve his homeland. He turned out to be smart and capable. Eventually, he was brought to the U.S. and given a top-tier education—funded, likely, by Russian taxpayers.

He now seems to be one of the most successful “spy children.” He has gained the trust of high-level U.S. figures and is allegedly placing other Russian agents in White House positions.

For the past six months, analysts have been puzzled by Trump’s unrelenting admiration for Putin. Why does he forgive Putin what he wouldn’t forgive anyone else?

Perhaps it’s all just a mistake. Perhaps the IT experts used the wrong tool or clicked the wrong button.

This should be a matter for the FBI’s foreign intelligence division. But the FBI is currently headed by Kash Patel—a man recommended for the role by none other than Sergio Gor. The current Director of National Intelligence, known Putin-sympathizer Tulsi Gabbard, was also reportedly recommended by “Sergey from Saratov.”

Conclusion: The current U.S. administration is being run out of the Kremlin.”

And this is a link to New York Post article, which covers a part of the issue. Unfortunately link to IT investigation source is not working any more.

    1. Valentina: This story has been getting attention. Yes. It is very worrying. Lax security, lax attitudes towards persons with background problems has been a problem in the U.S. for many decades. The security system passed into law during the 1950s was stripped away in the 1990s. Even before that, many institutions never enforced loyalty oaths and background checks were not thorough. From my own standpoint it looks like Trump has several moles. SEVERAL. This raises questions about Trump himself.

    2. Here is a link to Grok’s information about Sergio Gor. It should be noted that Brian Kreb retracted his statements about the names and passwords. In June 2025, security researcher Brian Krebs linked Gor to a Russian national named Sergey Goryachev, alleging Gor’s email (russomalti@hotmail.com, meaning “Russian-Maltese”) shared passwords with accounts tied to Goryachev. Krebs suggested Gor might be a Russian operative, but on June 20, 2025, he retracted the claim, admitting errors in his analysis and stating, “I got this one wrong.” Gor’s lawyer, Robert Garson, called the allegations “scurrilous” and denied any Russian ties.

While I agree that there is no clear evidence he was born in Malta, he lived there until he was in middle school. He moved to the US in 1999. There is nothing I can find that shows he has ties to Russia, even though there are rumors he was born in the Soviet Union.

I would also agree that he should have gone through the same vetting process he requires White House job applicants to follow.
There is something strange there, but I haven’t seen a satisfactory answer yet, but the strongest evidence you provided doesn’t hold water.

I was trying to post something here twice and the post doesn’t seem to appear. Could it be because of big size?

    1. It is usually anything with more than one or two links. Let me check.
