J.R. Nyquist Introduction
What follows is a draft report submitted by a joint committee of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police on the Chinese subversion and penetration of Canada. This report has been repeatedly referred to by Brian McAdam, a former Canadian immigration control officer, in his attempts to warn the public about Chinese intelligence successes and the corruption of government officials. The document shows that China has made significant inroads in North America. These inroads are potentially fatal if we continue to ignore the strategic implications of lax security, the bribery of bureaucrats, Communist-aligned organized crime syndicates and drug trafficking with money laundering via urban real estate. Today, in 2024, it is painfully obvious that the recommendations of the Sidewinder study were ignored by Canada’s policymakers.
What follows is the Summary and Introduction of the Sidewinder report. The rest of the report contains case studies on which the Summary and Introduction are based. There may be slight errors in the text below due to the illegibility of the acquired document copy.

Draft Submitted to
the RCMP-CSIS Joint Review Committee
Forward
In May 1996 a joint project was initiated by the RCMP Criminal Analysis Branch and the CSIS Analysis and Production Branch to assess the extent of the threat posed by the acquisition and control of Canadian companies by members or associates of triads with affiliations to the Chinese Intelligence Services. The research team quickly realized that the initial premise was the tip of the iceberg with only a minute portion of a much more complex situation showing. It should be stressed that this report is a prospective document that makes the claim to provide a full survey of the issue; in fact, quite the opposite.
This document does not present theories but indicators of a multifaceted threat to Canada’s national security based on concrete facts drawn from the databanks of the two agencies involved, classified reports from allied agencies and various open sources. This study has departed from the conventional and sometimes confining approaches followed by our respective methodologies. Although both organizations have fairly extensive expertise on Chinese matters, it is nevertheless very different. It is clear at the end of this exercise that both organizations have gained from cooperating on this research. When put together, these two bodies of expertise compliment each other, providing a broader and more substantial perspective of the Chinese issues.
The scope of the problem found after a few weeks of research dictated that the initial research results had to be presented in the form of case studies. At the moment, we estimate that over 200 Canadian companies are under the direct or indirect control of China. Although it was impossible to do all the research within the parameters initially given; however, sufficient details have been found to reveal the threat. It should be reiterated that this report presents concrete facts, not just ideas or speculation. We trust that we have demonstrated the need to continue the work within a broader and more elaborate framework.
Chinese Intelligence Services and Triads Financial Links in Canada – Summary
Since the mid-1980s, a substantial immigration flow from Hong Kong has taken place and Canadian authorities were first alerted when a significant presence of Chinese organized crime elements among this group was detected. Many came through the “entrepreneur” and “investor” immigration program and some of these criminals even have succeeded to obtain their Canadian citizenship. Although not all immigrants in these categories are suspected, two particular groups of individuals raised attention. Two other groups have also taken advantage of the “entrepreneur” and “investor” categories to immigrate and to invest in Canada. First, a certain number of very rich Hong Kong Chinese business people (tycoons) who are known to have been cooperating with the Chinese Government for years. Then a group composed of associates and relatives that certain individuals of these three groups have been working for over fifteen years in concert with the Chinese government and some of their “financial ventures” in Canada serve to conceal criminal or intelligence activities.
Hand in hand with this situation, the ChIS [Chinese Intelligence Service] make very active use of their access to Canadian industries through exchanges of specialists and students, and also set up shell companies to pursue their acquisition of economic and technological intelligence. Cooperation between the Hong Kong tycoons, the triads and the Beijing leadership adds a new dimension to the well known “mass line collection” strategy followed by the ChIS. This situation substantially raises the level of the potential threat, revealing the effectiveness of Chinese efforts to obtain Canadian technology and their capability to interfere in the management of the country. Central points and essential for the understanding of the problem are the cultural singularities that characterize the Chinese as the concepts of “debt of honour”, “duties”, “Hou Tai or backers” and “Guanxi or connections.”
By using these alliances, the Chinese government is trying to gain influence on Canadian politics by maximizing their presence over some of the country’s economic levers. To that end, they proceed initially to buy and/or legally set up a company in Canada that, once under their control, buys other companies and so on. An effective domino effect ensues that acts like a well-spun web or network at strategic points. It is estimated that over 200 Canadian companies have passed into Chinese influence or ownership since the early 1980s through the triads, tycoons or China national companies. These businesses are found in various sectors of the economy, ranging from multinationals to banking, high technology and real estate (CITIC, Norinco, Husky Oil, Grand Adex Properties Inc, Merrill Lynch, Gordon Capital, Inc, Tai Foong International, CIBC, Ramada Hotels, China Vision and Semi-Tech Corporation, etc.). The triads’ companies are also used to pursue their criminal activities, such as money-laundering and heroin trafficking, as well as assistance to the ChIS.
Being Canadian these businesses are also eligible to receive government subsidies for research or classified contracts from Federal Departments. The risk is that after the research is done, there [sic] results can be transfered to China. Other form of risk is with the access gain[ed] through classified contract. As an example, a Canadian company under Chinese influence was in contention for a contract to set up and run a classified communications system linking the main agencies of the Canadian intelligence community. A company in Toronto specializing in video surveillance was originally Canadian, but was bought by a Chinese multinational. It is impossible at present to say how many or which Canadian companies are in the same situation. These examples, however, raise questions about the integrity of some companies that have already installed security systems for various Canadian government institutions or Canadian research industries.
Significant portions of some large Canadian urban centres are also owned by Chinese entrepreneurs. For example, it is estimated that Li Ka-shing owns with his son at least one sixth to one third of downtown Vancouver.
These “corporate” figures have become an influential presence on the political and economic landscapes of Toronto and Vancouver and at the provincial and federal levels. The triads, the tycoons and the ChIS have learned the quick way to gain influence is to provide finance to the main political parties. Most of the companies identified in this research have contributed, sometimes several tens of thousands of dollars, to the two traditional political parties, that is, the Liberal and the Progressive-Conservative Parties.
The Chinese leadership continues to gain much direct or indirect influence over the Canadian economy and politics. Having bought significant real estate holdings and established businesses in Canada, China has obtained access to influential figures who are now or once active at various levels of Canadian society. In many ways, China remains one of the greatest ongoing threats to Canada’s national security and Canadian industry.
Introduction
Be so subtle that you are invisible. Be so mysterious that you are intangible. Then you will control your rival’s fate.
Sun Tzu, The Art of War (c. 509 BC)
1. With the announcement of the return of Hong Kong to China in the mid-1980s, Canada witnessed the arrival of a substantial immigration and capital flow from that region. For example, between January 1990 and March 1997, 233,077 Hong Kong residents emigrated to Canada, of whom nearly 70,000 were in the “entrepreneur” or “investor” category. This exceeded the “family” category over the same period. Although the great majority of these migrants were legitimate, the Canadian authorities detected a significant presence of Chinese organized crime elements, among them, namely the triads and their associates, some of whom succeeded in obtaining Canadian citizenship.
2. Some wealthy Hong Kong Chinese investors and Chinese from Mainland closely affiliated or related with the country’s leadership and the ChIS also took advantage of the “entrepreneur” and “investor” categories to emigrate in and invest in Canada. Few even bought or established companies on Canadian soil through family members who had obtained Canadian citizenship. Intelligence indicates that these specific individuals with these three groups: triads, Hong Kong investors and people close to China’s leadership, have been identified working with [sic] concert with the Chinese government to gain influence through some of their “financial ventures” in Canada. Some companies which are also used to conceal criminal or intelligence activities. At the same time, the ChIS use their access to Canadian businesses through exchanges and technical or student visas to steal classified and technological information. They have gone so far as to set up shell companies to pursue their economic and technological information acquisition operations.
3. A new triumvirate was born. This cooperation between Hong Kong Chinese business people, the triads and the Beijing leadership adds a new dimension to the known mass line collection strategy followed by ChIS. Economic, political and security indicators based on factual data revealed the potential threat and efforts made by the Chinese to obtain Canadian technology, but above all to obtain influence over economic levers and prominent Canadian figures.
Beijing’s Strategic Alliances
Or the Lessons of Sun Tzu
4. When Deng Xiaoping came to power in the late 1970s, he introduced his economic reforms with the slogan “to get rich is glorious.” To achieve that end, he had to move China onto the international markets. The isolationism of the former regime, however, handicapped the Chinese leadership. It therefore turned to the richest Chinese business people of Hong Kong, including, among many others, Li Ka-Shing, Henry Fok Ying-Tung, Wang Foon-Shing, Stanley Ho and the man who would eventually be chosen by Beijing to head Hong Kong after the departure of the British, Tung Chee-Wa (C.H. Tung). On 23 May 1982, Li Ka-Shing and Henry Fok met with Deng Xiaoping and Zhao Ziyang in Beijing to discuss the future of the peninsula. Their task would be to advise and educate the Chinese authorities about the basic rules of capitalism. In return, Beijing gave them privileged access to the vast Chinese economic basin. These powerful international financiers played an important role in the preparations for the transfer of Hong Kong.
5. In 1984, the British Government of Margaret Thatcher announced that it would return Hong Kong to China on 1st July 1997. This was not news to the Chinese or the rest of the world since a treaty signed nearly a century before had stipulated that Hong Kong was to revert to China in 1997. The reality of the impending transfer, however, created insecurity that was strengthened by the tragedy of Tiananment Square in June 1989. That incident made Beijing realize more than ever that it would have to prepare the ground for its arrival not only with regard to the financial community but also the population. In the late 1980s, Western intelligence services reported the very active presence in Hong Kong of the United Front Work Department (UFW). For that purpose, the UFW was given the responsibility among other things for building alliance with the triads already affiliated with many business people. As early as 1992, Western intelligence services knew that, Wong Man Fong, formerly Head of the New China News Agency, was instructed to inform the triads bosses that if they agreed not to jeopardize with the transition process and the normal business in Hong Kong, Beijing would assure them that they will be allowed to pursue their illegal activities without interference. The Beijing authorities also created a front company in Hong Kong for Wong man Fong to facilitate his contacts with the triads and so assist triads groups set up legitimate business in China, particularly in Guangzhou and Shanghai. Following these negotiations, Deng Xiaoping himself was speaking of the triads as Chinese “patriotic groups”, and the Hong Kong press published a photograph of Charles Heung, a senior officer of the Sun Yee On, conversing with the patriarch’s daughter. At the same time, Interior Minister Tao Siji indicated that there were patriotic members among the triads and they were welcome to do business in China.
6. The political class has also been targeted by Beijing’s leaders. Without any doubts for the communist masters it was essential to obtain the cooperation of key elements of influential local personalities. Their collaboration or their resistance in China’s requests before July 1st was going to make the difference between the possibility to do business with China after the transition. To achieve this, political and business people have been approached and enthusiastic collaborators received positions within various transition committees. For example, in early February 1997, Rita Fan Hsu Lai-Tai was appointed by Beijing, chair of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Provisional Legislative Council (LEGCO). Mrs. Fan has been identified as a secret cadre of the Chinese Communist Party and an associate of Albert and Sonny Yeung, both officers of the Sun Yee On triad. She is also the daughter of one of the leaders of the Shanghai Triad criminal organization known as the Green Gang before the communist takeover in 1949. This group was known for its political assassinations on behalf of another triad boss, Chiang Kai Shek.
Immigration to Canada
7. Canada has always been a preferred destination for the people of Hong Kong. It is estimated that 100,000 Canadians live on the peninsula, and most of them are natives of the city. Hong Kong alone has been for the last 10 years the top source of immigration to Canada, with over 500,000 Hong Kong people now living here and accounting for 22 percent of all immigration to Canada. Over half of the 66,000 persons who left Hong Kong in 1996 came to Canada. To that must be added 17,000 students, amounting to a fifth of all foreign students in Canada.
8. Among legitimate immigrants in recent years, some persons affiliated with or members of the Chinese triads have succeeded in slipping in and obtaining Canadian citizenship. Several triad officers and their associates even have family members residing in Canada. Their choice of Canada was no accident. This country is an excellent place to invest in companies to launder the profits derived from criminal activities while securing a portion of their assets outside Hong Kong and obtaining a Canadian passport. Most of these individuals are members or associates of the upper echelons of the triads and own or run large businesses in Hong Kong. As part of their secret agreements reached with the Beijing leadership, these triads now use their Canadian acquisitions to engage in intelligence activities, such as intimidating individuals, identifying potential sources or facilitating visits of Chinese delegations on behalf of China.
9. Two other types of investor represent another danger to the Canadian economy, namely, the rich Hong Kong Chinese business people and leaders of the Chinese civilian and military authorities of China. Like the “entrepreneurs” affiliated with the triads, Chinese investors from Hong Kong or Beijing have taken control of Canadian companies in various sectors of the economy. Some of these businesses have even obtained Canadian government classified contracts. The threat is more significant because the strategic alliance between the Beijing leadership and Hong Kong tycoons is reinforced by the powerful ethnic and cultural ties associated with guanxi. This concept rules the links, the obligations or duties and the type of relations between individuals and is a characteristic of the Chinese culture.
10. In all three cases, their commercial activities have enabled them to develop a position in the Canadian economy that affords them the opportunity to engage in intelligence activities, such as illicit transfer of technology, foreign influence and interference, identification and cultivation of persons favourable to China, and the acquisition of undue control in important Canadian economic and political circles.
11. Even before Hong Kong’s official return to the Communists, it was established by several Western agencies that their national immigration systems had been affected by illegal ChIS and triad interference. Laurence Leung Ming-Yen, a former director of the Hong Kong immigration service, is still under investigation after he had to resign under the pressure of allgations of corruption and illegally disclosing confidential information about residents of the peninsula. The controversy surrounding Leung was fed by his business relationship with the flamboyant tycoon Tsul Tsin Tong, well known for his pro-Beijing views and a member of the notorious Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Preparatory Committee. The murder of Leung’s young daughter in Vancouver in 1993 by a crossbow bolt has still not been solved. The Vancouver police suspect the crime was committed by triad members.
12. In 1996, an extensive special investigation within the American immigration service led to the arrest of two former heads of this service stationed in Hong Kong. Jerry Wolf Stuchiner was found in possession of illegal Honduran passports and was recently released after he accepted to collaborate in the trial of James DeBates. James DeBates and his wife Heddy, an American of Chinese origin, were also arrested and questioned regarding their involvement in Stuchiner’s activities and the illegal entry of Chinese immigrates into the United States. Canada has unfortunately its share of difficulties. Different cases were investigated and like the case of Robert Geddes, a former citizenship judge, whom was charged in May 1997 with 33 counts of fraud and misrepresentation in 13 known cases involving Hong Kong Chinese.
13. Analysis of the destination of immigrants broken down by Canadian province is an indicator of the concentration of the activities of these groups. Between January 1990 and March 1997, 39.1 percent of the persons registered in the entrepreneur and investor categories chose to settle in British Columbia, particularly in the south Fraser Valley. Ontario for its part received 28.5 per cent of immigrants, who settled mainly in the Toronto area. This pattern is explained by the large, long-established Chinese communities in these areas which are essential in the activities of the triads, Chinese investors and ChIS. Under the same program, 20.6 per cent of such immigrants settled in Quebec while Alberta received only 7.3 per cent.
Hundreds of Canadian Companies “Made in China”
14. The influx of Chinese investors who are affiliated with the triads or new associates of Beijing poses a new challenge to Canada’s national security. The central point of the strategy of the Chinese is first to buy a Canadian company so as to obtain a “local identity”, legally concealing subtly their foreign identity. Then, using this acquisition, the Chinese-Canadian company invests heavily or buys other companies in various economic sectors, but always under the Canadian banner. In actual fact, control lies in Hong Kong or Beijing, and the financial benefits or fruits of research, often paid for by Ottawa or the provinces, are likely to make their way to Asia.
15. Hand in hand with their ethnicity and their commercial ambitions, the financial network of the Chinese entrepreneurs associated to the organized crime and to the power in Beijing has grown exponentially and very rapidly in Canada. Their influence over local, provincial and national political leaders has also increased. In the game of influence, several of these important Chinese entrepreneurs have associated themselves with prestigious and influential Canadian politicians, offering them positions on their boards of directors. Many of those companies are China’s national companies.
16. The analysis of the information demonstrates that their attention was not initially directed towards sensitive sectors like high technology or other even more sensitive areas, but towards what might be called “soft” sectors such as: real estate, hotels, transportation, oil companies and travel agencies. Commercial sectors that at first sight do not involve any security risks and did not attract the attention of the Canadian services responsible for security. The scale of their ventures or investments has now made them some of the most important figures present in the major centres, and their decisions to invest in one place or another are not a matter of indifference to anyone. Such projects are seen by the local or national business community as a “favour” or a “chance” not to be missed.

I remember this report. I saw it way back when it was first released online.
Many Chinese penetrated Canada during the hand over of Hong Kong.
I think the Chinese have a clandestine command and control structure set up in Vancouver, Canada. I think one of the first places to fall to any Chinese invasion would be Seattle.
Jeff, do the Chinese have any invasion sights on South America? It would be a much easier resource rich target.
-Bill Freeman
The Chinese are all over South America, practicing a kind of economic imperialism. They also appear to be colonizing Africa.
So, they are the true ‘imperialists’, along with the Russians (although I already knew this). Not us–whom those two godforsaken governments always seem to slap with that odious label.
Yes, it seems there is more than a little hypocrisy in communist gangsterism. Their regimes are more militarist, more imperial, more corrupt than the Western powers. This is a truism many Americans no longer understand.

Jeff, nice changes to your blog format. It looks great— very classy. The only thing I don’t like is that the timestamp next to each comment has been taken away. Having that provided an easy way to go through and view all the newest comments via a key word (or number) search. Perhaps there’s a better way to do this but I’m not aware of it. For some reason I never receive email notifications for new comments, even though I select that option when commenting.
I do really like the picture of the library at the top of the blog. Very appropriate for your blog especially, as I think you might be one of the most widely-read individuals I’ve come across.
For my own curiosity I went back and re-read your interview with Mr. Wang of Lude Media from almost exactly two years ago— published on June 4, 2022. It was very instructive. Here are a few highlights that I think others might find interesting:
J.R. NYQUIST: I heard that communist governments in Southeast Asia were informed that China and Russia were planning to go to war with the United States in the not-too-distant future and that they had to get ready. I heard this two years ago.
LUDE: That is for sure. We can verify this information, actually.
J.R. NYQUIST: You got hold of this amazing recording, the 56-minutes from the standing party meeting in Guangdong which mentioned an American counterattack against Chinese strategic targets in Guangdong. Are they expecting to be hit by nuclear weapons from America?
LUDE: Yes, that is for sure. The Chinese government of the CCP do not really care about its people’s lives. They just use people as their shield. They use people as a resource. If they get hit with nuclear weapons and millions die, they don’t even frown on that.
J.R. NYQUIST: And I understand, when you released the recording of that meeting, when you did that, people were arrested and killed?
LUDE: There are 40 people being investigated right now. This has already [warranted] martial law for these people already.
J.R. NYQUIST: When you look into the CCP system, they look into you. So, if they get hold of one of your sources, they can flip him and feed you false information? How do you avoid taking on false information?
LUDE: From your description I can see that this is very common way that the CIA works against the former Soviet Union and the KGB works against the Americans back in the day; but we are using a totally different approach. The CCP is declaring a “people’s war” against the West. We, at the same time, also use a people’s war against the CCP.
J.R. NYQUIST: Have they ever tried to feed you false information?
LUDE: Absolutely. One hundred percent.
J.R. NYQUIST: They must really hate you. Are they coming after you?
LUDE: Yes, absolutely. They have tried that many times.
J.R. NYQUIST: So, how will we know when this war is going to start. What are we looking for?
LUDE: The time frame depends on several factors. First, negotiations between China/Russia and the U.S. If these negotiations go very well, they will come up with a [new] borderline in the Pacific. They will then reach an agreement. In that case we will probably never see a war. If the U.S. does not back off from Taiwan, from the first island chain, and if the U.S. totally disrespects China and Russia’s demands, then China and Russia will start carrying this [war] out in two or three months. But “carrying out,” just like we mentioned, is a talk and fight and talk and fight – this kind of theme. They will use all different kinds of warfare, in all domains, to achieve their strategic goal. They will be talking as they go.
J.R. NYQUIST: So, [just to be clear], there will be a blockade of Taiwan and there will be all kinds of talking.
LUDE: First, they will block off Taiwan from air and sea…. And then they will use this as blackmail to force the U.S. out of the first island chain. Push them back to second island chain. If the U.S. does not agree with this kind of demand, there will be a war. There will be military conflict. If the military conflict goes well for the U.S., then it is a different story. If it does not go well for the U.S. then they will keep talking. All these things will happen at the same time.
[Transcript continues]
So from this excerpt we can see that two years ago the CCP was already aware of Mr. Wang and had tried to feed him false information multiple times (or so he thought at least).
He also thought Taiwan would be blockaded in two to three months at that point.
I feel like there are substantive differences in the tone of the interview excerpted above versus the tone of the most recent one. Perhaps he has been compromised in some way, as others have speculated.
Here is the link to the previous interview, for those interested in comparing the two:
https://jrnyquist.blog/2022/06/04/beijings-war-plan-an-interview-with-lude-media/
To me, it seems his answer to Jeff asking him how he avoids taking on false information, was a non-answer.
The answer was not satisfactory.
Something else I find suspicious is where he told you they have tried to come after him many times. From what I’ve read about Communist assassinations, they don’t fail “many times” against a person. What do you think?
If someone is on their guard, it is not easy to kill them, especially if they are armed and remain in a protected space. To protect yourself, you have to know firearms and keep them handy. Mr. Wang knows firearms and protects himself. Chinese dissidents, like Mr. Wang, have received visits from MS-13 gang members who have taken pictures of their houses. I am told that police have matched the license plates of the photographer’s cars to MS-13 gang members. I have seen pictures of the picture-takers myself. Why take pictures of a Chinese dissident’s house? It is intimidation, to be sure, but it is a necessary step before an assault on the house.
Stalin’s agents attempted an armed assault on Leon Trotsky’s house in Mexico, and failed. The man who assassinated Trotsky was a personal friend who got close enough to stab him. That is where the real danger of assassination comes from. They really do not want a failed armed assault on armed residents. They want to get someone close to you. Then they can poison or stab you. This is more effective.
Do such approaches ever fail?
The Soviet defector Nikolai Khokhlov survived radioactive poisoning similar to that experienced by Alexander Litvinenko. Khokhlov’s hair fell out from the radiation sickness, but he recovered.
Any attempt to get near a target, which fails, may be a botched assassination attempt. Guard yourself well if you get on their hit list. They will send people to befriend you.
Europe seems to be catching on to the fact that they’re under attack by Russian saboteurs. I wonder if this is similar to what China has planned for the US (and more) in the near future:
“String of mysterious attacks across Europe opens new front in Russia’s war on the West”
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/ar-BB1nLAyR
Russia and China have been engaged is massive sabotage actions against the West for decades. The entire 2008 crash had Russia’s fingerprints all over it.
‘The entire 2008 crash had Russia’s fingerprints all over it’–OMG! I never would have guessed that in my naivete.
George W. Bush’s Treasury Secretary wrote about this in his book.
What a coup! And what a banner year for Russian ‘sabotage’ to help ruin the ‘West’–that crash, and then the election of Obama. My gods!
@JRNyquist: I’m sorry if this seems like an obvious question, but ‘was’ Obama’s election part of the Communist ‘sabotage’ strategy? Because it seems more and more likely to be the case, now looking back at those eight years that he was in office.
https://thecontemplativeobserver.wordpress.com/category/forward-not-back/
Check this out.
Very nice blast from the past from our friend at n Europe. And yet, Obama failed to deliver the communist death-blow. Why? Because the U.S. is a huge and successful society which has resilience, and has a lot of hidden resistance in it. Many communists were angered by Obama. They saw him as a sellout. But he had no rational choice. There are thousands of armed men in the U.S. military who would revolt if Obama went too far. Imagine Obama giving the following speech: “I am ordering the American military to stand down today. I am ordering the banks to redistribute all the money to the poor. I am outlawing cars to save the planet. I am opening the border for the criminals of the communist world to come. I am destroying capitalism and will be arresting everyone who disagrees.” — Clearly, it is a question of doing whatever seems possible without getting caught or killed. If you were Obama, would you have announced a communist dictatorship? It just was not doable. Biden has moved the ball farther, but people are upset with him. He is going to lose the election unless there is a massive cheating. What should the communists do? Keep trying either way Kamala? — Or with that idiot California governor?
I should have waited until you posted, as the question was directed to you. But this is a very well-done look into what Obama was, and i thought Janelle would serve herself well to read it, and also listen to the interviews you had done that are included in it.
I didn’t gather from that research piece that Obama was supposed to deliver the death blow, but rather do all he could to get things going in the right direction for all that “Change”, which clearly had deeper meaning that what the average American voters would ever realize (myself definitely included) without understanding meaning and history behind certain Communist buzzwords.
It seems to me the Marxists were very much involved in getting Obama to the level where he could run for president, and they gambled correctly that he would win in a big way, and just as Biden gets his directions through whatever Communist means, it was always clear that Obama was directed as well, though I myself was pretty clueless as from where at the time.
But, now it is all to clear. They were almost certain that by playing on people’s emotions on the prospect of electing the nation’s first black president, that he would win in a landslide, and I believe they had the plans in place of just what all he needed to accomplish while in office in order to advance their designs on America and the world.
As you said in a previous comment recently, Obama basically broke down and begged Putin to tell him what to do after Putin crossed his “red line” in Syria.
Obama was their man just as much as Biden is.
Biden is very old and forgetful, but not so forgetful that he yet wields many secrets. In a way, he can blackmail his colleagues even more effectively than anyone can blackmail him. He is so old that he has nothing to lose. He could begin to talk if they refuse to leave him in place. Senility is a funny thing. And then he has 24-7 protection from the Secret Service! Think of the position he is in. How do you send someone like that to an old folks home when he doesn’t want to go? “I like it fine just here. And I know where all the bodies are buried. And I have a safety deposit box with a lawyer and a journalist ready to print what I have to say. So you will keep me here. Sorry. You do not have a choice.” A senile parent does not want to give up the power of being a parent, of being respected, of being the boss. How much more is the case of the senile president? It is the story of King Lear in reverse. We know what an evil, empowered, child can do to an aging parent. Think of what an evil aging parent might do first. Is Kamala Harris different from Goneril or Regan? Hillary Clinton embodies them both. Biden is not letting go, and for good reason.
Yes. Obama was advancing the Marxist cause. There is no better way to understand what he did, and what he continues to do. When you read the communist pamphlets, listen to their speakers, go to their meetings, everything is scripted and thought out. They are following a process which has a lot of theory behind it. And the theory is well worked out. It is a religious way of talking and acting, as if they are working to create a world out of the ruins of the old. And they mean to ruin everything that does not fit with their new design. In doing all this, their misuse of language is their trademark. There is a deep dishonesty in it. They want to claim the word “patriotism” for themselves. Yet they are internationalists. They want to claim good things for themselves, but these things are altered in their telling.
Obama increased the national debt scandalously in the name of coping with the 2008 financial crisis aftermath. His election itself was just an election. But his subsequent policies attempted to advance unilateral American nuclear disarmament and huge giveaways to prospectively unemployed persons. He opted for trade measures that would have placed the US in a permanently inferior position to China. Trump changed that and even Biden was unable to change it back so that a different direction was taken.
Fascinating! Can you link to an article that explains how Russia was behind the 2008 economic crash? Also, what is the title of the book written by Bush’s Treasury Secretary?
You can read about Russia’s involvement behind the scenes in Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson’s autobiographical book, “On the Brink.” While attending the Beijing Olympics, a Chinese source tipped Paulson off that Russia was trying to instigate a financial crash in the U.S. capital markets. On page 160 he wrote, “What I learned in Beijing, however, left me less than reassured myself: Russian officials had made a top-level approach to the Chinese suggesting that together they might sell big chunks of their GSE holdings to force the U.S. to use its emergency authorities to prop up these companies. The Chinese had declined to go along with the disruptive scheme, but the report was deeply troubling — heavy selling could create a sudden loss of confidence in the GSEs and shake the capital markets. I waited till I was back home and in a secure environment to inform the president.”
A second data point relates to this: I had interviewed Kevin Freeman after the crash, as he had done economic analysis for the Pentagon. He found that the naked short-selling attacks against Bear Stearns investment bank, which caused the crash and panic, had been conducted through the ICE (International Continental Exchanges) and therefore were untraceable. The nation that destroyed Bear Sterns was hiding its identity. Freeman told me that only a sovereign fund (nation state actor) could have carried out these attacks through ICE.
I asked Freeman if Russia could have been behind the attacks, and he said yes. But he was involved with others who were wrapped up in the War on Terror narratives and for some reason preferred to put Saudi Arabia at the top of their list of suspects. Consequently, Freeman seemed to favor blaming the Saudis and later became very shy about mentioning Russia at all. I know more about this, but it is sensitive and involves the reputation of someone who is dead and cannot defend themselves.
The whole thing seems rather transparent to me. Given what Paulson wrote in his book, it’s clear that the Russians were trying to collapse our capital markets just prior to the 2008 election. The information in Paulson’s book is decisive. Look carefully at the 2008 election and how the crash gave the presidency to Obama. Who wanted Obama in the White House? The Russians, of course. I also suspect the Russians were manipulating the price of oil so that they could profit and position themselves for further financial attacks.
This is my own analysis, based on two pieces of evidence. Russia had motive and opportunity, and they approached China to assist them. Why did they do this if there was not a wider attack underway? Probably the Chinese helped the Russians but did want to be caught and blamed. Therefore, they leaked information to Paulson that would absolve Beijing if the U.S. decided to retaliate. In this regard, Russia probably approved of China’s self-protective measures. Russia was not as vulnerable as China to economic retaliation from the USA. Russia has insulated their economy, as the present war shows.
Very beautiful new website design.
@K to your point about Europe waking up. I have been following a story about a once widely regarded media outlet called Voice of Europe being caught giving cash to German political campaigns. This money originated from Russia and was given to prominent politicians in Germany’s AfD (Alternative for Germany) party. I heard Alex Benush say in an interview to JRN that Maximilian Krah’s assistant (Chinese) has been arrested for espionage. Krah, I believe, stands also accused of taking cash for his campaign for office. He is also a member of AfD.
Further, the Voice of Europe stands accused of pushing Putin’s poisonous propaganda. This is perhaps the most important point. They are accused of leading the propaganda war that Ukraine is controlled by Nazis and corrupt beyond repair. This Russia connection was revealed by Czech intel services and published in their newspaper, Denik, last fall.
Here’s a recent story on this by Reuters.
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/eu-sanctions-voice-europe-related-businessmen-czech-ministry-says-2024-05-27/
There is another independent group that has written on this that I wonder about. Their outlet is called VoxEurop. Is this the same VOX as here? I don’t think so — it claims to be funded by donations, but nothing would surprise me these days. I will post a link to it in a separate comment.
As I recall, we can only put one link in a comment or the blog blocks the post, causing excessive frustration to the commenter.
Three links causes the posting to be held back, and sometimes I cannot get the button to work, so less than three links per posting is ideal.
Here is the investigation by VoxEurop into the European politicians on Putin’s payroll story.

These are very interesting and telling developments. Thanks for posting the link. Good resource.
Busy news day! This was interesting — from Jennifer Zeng:
Highlights:
– Russia has transferred large amounts of cash to Hong Kong for safe keeping
– Xi ordered accelerated comprehensive war preparations back in April
– Beijing is sitting on a $2 trillion war fund and another war fund that is (don’t know if this could possibly be right?) $35 trillion* USD
– There have been more purges in military leadership
– Xi may risk a coup if he invades Taiwan due to internal strife
“Xi Orders Accelerated War Preparations”

Also that’s interesting info @LadyFromLibertyGarage regarding Voice of Europe, thanks for sharing!
A $37 trillion war fund (plus whatever huge amounts the Russians are sitting on & transferring to HK) could last a VERY long time & would make the local governments running out of cash a non-issue— if they could string them along, handing out a little cash here and a little there, wherever needed to keep everyone from revolting. Xi could go to war according to any timeline he wanted to follow.
It is not good news to see the Russians moving that money to Hong Kong. I wonder what mischief they are contemplating. Taking this kind of action is not a sign of impending peace.
What do you think of the $35 trillion figure?
It sounds ridiculously high.
It just occurred to me that $35 trillion is roughly the US national debt!
I find this number hard to believe.
‘Taking this kind of action is not a sign of impending peace’–
@JRNyquist: Like their hoarding of gold that you’ve mentioned in the past?
Exactly.
I have been reviewing Dimitri Duduman’s prophecy regarding a ground invasion into the United States. Dimitri said watch Florida, Alaska and Minnesota which buts up against Canada. Now there is in the Library of Congress and it has “George Washington’s Vision at Valley Forge, 1777. I contrasted these two with the Deagle Forecast from 2017 that shows a huge population reduction in the United States, GNP and Military Expendures a large loss. Ill post them here https://reversespins.com/gwv.html and https://internationalman.com/articles/doug-casey-on-the-shocking-2025-deagel-forecast/ and https://rense.com/Datapages/deageldat.htm
Also here is the Original Deagle

What do you imagine such mischief means? These imbeciles think that climate change is going to lower the world population by more than a billion people, and they are doing their climate-change duty by scaring the gullible Americans into adopting a 19th century lifestyle without the coal.
I looked at the report, and found several items that don’t make sense.
The U.S. down by 2/3, the only way that could happen is nuclear war followed by invasion. Were those who prepared the report anticipating a war in 2024–2025?
China shows only a slight decline, consistent with the falling birthrate. But, and this is the big but, if China invades the U.S. and is defeated, what will happen to China? Will it remain a single country? Or will it split up into different countries, the south against the north, the west against the east, etc.? The CCP is widely hated, with much of the CCP’s military defeated, will the people seize an opportunity to revolt? Under those circumstances, China showing only a slight decrease doesn’t make sense.
Russia shows only a slight decrease, again doesn’t make sense. The war starting in Ukraine could spread deeply in Russia leading to massive casualties.
Going through the list, many countries, particularly in western Europe, show declines consistent with war. However, so many of the numbers don’t make sense, because they show trends that would be disrupted should there be a world war. And other numbers would be inaccurate if there is no world war.
So take those numbers with a big grain of salt.
2025 is next year. America loses 230 million people in the next 18 months?
I posted this important document and none of those posting here read it, or showed the least interest in it. And the document is still secret in Canada, and it’s a bombshell.
Worse, the doc says the loss will be by 2025, so we now have a bit over 6 months to carry out the massacre, if such it be.
This Deagel.com thing is a waste of time. Deagel.com has made crazy predictions before, which did not come true. This is how a clever website drives traffic to itself. Deagel.com admits it is a nonprofit involved in “speculation,” and is not connected to any government agencies. People have spread false stories about Deagel’s involvement in secret government projects. Please see https://www.aap.com.au/factcheck/depopulation-projections-a-dystopian-fantasy/
Jeff, a bit off topic but do you, or can you, recommend a site that one can purchase used (or new) the books “The Perestroika Deception” and also “Red Cocaine:The Drugging of America and the West” ?? Preferably less that the $100+ from the used book sources out there?
I thought I had both books found and would be able to purchase on the site edwardharle.com but seems it is no longer a valid site. I did a little research and Christopher Ed Harle Story has passed from the scene (2010) and this is no longer available on that site.
I know Golitsyn’s book is available in pdf but I hate reading on a computer or phone and prefer actual books. Call me old fashioned, lol.
Edward Harle publishers was Christopher Story. He passed more than a decade ago.
Yes, as I said, 2010. Any sources to find used copies of these valuable books/works? I find that prices for used copies are over $150.
Also, I wanted to remind folks that we all need to be “subscribing” to these Marxist sites, ie, media, like the Communist rag “The Indypendent”. Familiarize yourself with who the editor is, his own work, writings as well as anyone else reporting there of the Communist movements or issues of the day and week.
Educate yourself and your own circle. That’s the grassroots way of thwarting enemies of our Republic. Go to local city council meetings, state leaders town halls and challenge them all in their own stances on the issues. Question EVERYTHING! They study all of our laws and plan…so we should start being proactive and give it back to them.
Go to your church, synagogues and educate your circles there as well. We must unite if we ever hope to stamp these thugs out of our institutions.
I became an activist in my small community with “Commie Core” curriculum in my own kids’ public school. Later pulled them and homeschooled elementary and then later on to Christian boarding high school. I lost many friends but it was worth the efforts to save my kids from the indoctrination, the “woke” culture being taught to our youth in the USA today.
These kids know absolutely nothing of our history and or founding. Let alone our founding documents. Hell, most today cannot read cursive, much less write it. My kids are the exception to most of their “classmates”. A success for the wife and I in our small world.
That’s what it takes. As I wrote a short piece for an activist friend’s website years ago, “Dare to be a Daniel”. Stand up.
Good ideas. Yes!
My sources for used are:
1. Alibris. I always go here first
2. Abe Book. The 2nd stop
3. Powel Books. Favorite for technical books.
Alibris and Abe re networks, although they sell books themselves. Rare book will be pricey no matter where you get them but you might get lucky.
Mr. K’s Books has brick and mortar locations in my region. Good place to check as well. I would also pay attention to library sales, and estate sales. You never can tell what might pop up. I came across a First edition of “Richelieu” by Hilaire Belloc at a “Friends Of The Library” store in my hometown.
So sorry for the typos.
One last post, a bit off topic, but relevant as I hear a lot of my rabid Libertarian friends spew these words without actually understanding any of it…Ryan McBeth does great job explaining “military industrial complex”
https://open.substack.com/pub/ryanmcbeth/p/the-truth-about-the-military-industrial?r=2owyko&utm_medium=ios
Thank God for Ryan McBeth. I was thrilled when I saw him on Danny Jones saying there is no “military industrial complex.” The reality of our defense is too complex to be encompassed by such an irresponsible buzz-word. The conspiracy folks on the left just love this buzz-word.
According to John Lewis Gaddis, who was a Cold War historian, Eisenhower may have been indirectly referring to the Gaither Committee Report. It was a report from our military and military industry and science about the strategic consequences of the emerging ICBM thermonuclear technologies. The Committee, which was not actually headed by Rowan Gaither, who was absent due to poor health, wanted to transform American society in order to prepare for a future thermonuclear war. Eisenhower was strongly against changing American society in order to prepare for a future nuclear war. He thought this was evil, and that Germany had done something like this before World War II. Eisenhower’s plan was to defeat the Soviet Union with shopping malls and freeways; not bomb shelters and anticommunist indoctrination. Eisenhower did not like anticommunism. He hated Senator Joseph McCarthy. This is the context for Eisenhower’s farewell remarks.
I have grown to truly appreciate his non partisan reports, videos via his own military service, experience in which he educates so many of the disinformation via Communists and particularly Russian propaganda regarding the Ukraine Russian war (in reality since 2014) that is discussed here all the time.
Ryan’s recent Substack post on the military industrial complex
https://open.substack.com/pub/ryanmcbeth/p/talking-the-military-industrial-complex?r=2owyko&utm_medium=ios
Eisenhower was the last anti-communist warrior with the truest sense of understanding the enemies. That’s why the communists took him and his faction out to install both extreme anti-communists like McCarthy and extreme pro-communists in Hollywood/finance. By creating an extreme polar society, the communists successfully blinded the West away from knowing the true intentions of communism. That’s how the communists always get away with everything because no one among Western elites knows the true enemies anymore.
No. Eisenhower outlived and opposed (secretly) McCarthy. McCarthy did not supersede Eisenhower. And the communists did not install McCarthy in the U.S. Senate. Eisenhower, on the other hand, became a famous general because of Gen. George C. Marshall. Read McCarthy’s book on Marshall, “Retreat From Victory.”
Back in the 80s, I came across a copy of McCarthy’s speech to the senate about Marshall. Unlike a lot of stuff, it wasn’t shrill, but rather mild in tenor. It did utterly destroy Marshall’s position as a diplomat and officer.
Marshall’s reputation as an officer was also wrecked by John Toland’s “Infamy.”
Marshall’s history is very strange. He was elevated to his position as top American general by Harry Hopkins. Some researchers believe that Hopkins was a Soviet agent.
It’s really unfortunate that Eisenhower subtly likened civil defense and vigilance against communism as being akin to fascism. It’s a charge that has dogged anti-communism ever since, along with the unfair accusations of anti-communists acting paranoid and seeing things that aren’t there. In saying what he said, was Eisenhower only influenced by his liberalism and his experiences in fighting Nazi Germany, or was there more going on behind the scenes?
Eisenhower had a brother, Milton Eisenhower, who was reputedly a leftist. Some suspected that Eisenhower’s brother influenced him. It is unfortunate that Eisenhower could not distinguish between anticommunism and fascism; but, it seems, he conflated the two things in terms of educational policy. He probably never understood why he was elevated from Colonel to General of the Army by George C. Marshall and given command over the Normandy invasion. Stalin wanted Marshall to command this invasion, and said so at Tehran in 1943. Stalin loved Marshall for reasons that may or may not be apparent. Consequently, Roosevelt felt that Marshall should get the plum assignment of leading the invasion of Europe. Marshall, however, begged off and talked Roosevelt out of it, preferring Eisenhower, who had never led a regiment in battle and did not understand operational art. As it turned out, Eisenhower was guided to rely only on himself, since he hated General Montgomery even as Patton had been sidelined after the slapping incidents in Sicily. Eisenhower was positioned to fail. Unexpectedly, Eisenhower turned over operational command at Normandy to Gen. Montgomery, which was a wise choice. Montgomery was insufferable, but he was a good commander. Eisenhower avoided the fate of losing the invasion by handing power to someone he hated. I suspect that Stalin’s plot regarding the Normandy invasion was foiled by Eisenhower’s flexibility and largeness of mind. Eisenhower had the virtue of knowing his own limitations. If our invasion at Normandy had failed, Stalin would have taken Paris as well as Berlin, as Nazi Germany’s strategic position was eroding at an accelerating rate. A Germany victory at Normandy would not have stopped the Red Army, which was destroying the German Army Group Center that summer.
That was so interesting, Jeff! I learned a lot. I appreciate the mini-history lesson about Eisenhower!
Is it Joe Biden slipping his communist disguise away to disclose the truth of communist infiltration of the West?
https://nypost.com/2024/06/06/us-news/biden-claims-hes-known-russias-vladimir-putin-for-over-40-years-even-when-he-was-undercover-kgb-agent/
No wonder why Putin said that he prefers Biden over Trump
That appears to be one of Biden’s senile moments. He is losing track of time.
When you’re lying too much like Biden and Putin, it’s occasional that your masks will slip off. In this case, it is the aging problem makes your mask slipping off. I really don’t understand why the communists didn’t choose younger people other than Biden.
Hello Jeff,
Russia could send long-range weapons around the world to those who want to strike Western facilities, as reported by Business Insider (BI) on June 5. It was announced on June 7 that Russia will be sending four warships to Cuba next week (source: BI). Is it possible for Russia to transport nuclear weapons to Cuba via these ships? Thanks.
I personally believe that Soviets never moved nukes away from Cuba. JFK administration never fully audited if the Soviets kept their words on Cuban nukes after Cuban Missles Crisis. This is probably why the US has never attempted a direct intervention on Cuba again. I believe that the Soviet nukes in Cuba are tactical ones. These nukes are even more secretive than both Israel’s and Iran’s arsenals. Because no one even talks deeper if the Soviets ever removed nukes from Cuba.
With the way nuclear weapons work today, there is no reason to hide them in Cuba. There are plenty of ways of delivering nuclear weapons against U.S. targets.
@Jeff Nyquist: Nukes in Cuba are probably the reason why Cuba didn’t collapse or get intervened directly from the US. It’s similar to North Korea and Iran. Of course, there are multiple ways of delivering nukes against the US without needing Cuba.
Russia has already given the bomb to North Korea, and probably to Iran. They put nuclear weapons in Cuba back in 1962. Do we know they actually removed those weapons? How do we know? They kept troops there until we discovered them in the 1970s. You know how we discovered them? Our satellites saw soccer fields in Cuba. Back then the Cubans did not play soccer. They played baseball. The Russians play soccer. That’s how we know they broke their deal with us made during the Cuban missile crisis. They were supposed to have pulled their troops out. But then did not.
Why do you think they needed to keep troops there all that time?
@Jeff Nyquist: You just suddenly remind me of something. Communist Obama was close to remove our troops from Guantanamo Bay, and allow Russians to occupy it as they currently do in Niger’s US Base. Communist Biden has allowed the brazen acts of Russian/Chinese communists taking over American assets more than Obama ever did.
Why did Obama refuse to withdraw from Cuba? If Russians are moving towards Cuba, does it mean that Biden will gift Putin the Guantanamo Bay as a concession for Ukraine?
In case you missed it….a repost of Sam Faddis’ from 2021. Still relevant today.
https://open.substack.com/pub/andmagazine/p/flashback-do-we-have-a-chinese-spy?r=2owyko&utm_medium=ios
From Sam’s excellent report we can see that the tactics used by China in Canada have succeeded nicely in the United States, right up to the White House.
And World War 3 already started? Some think so, as Ryan McBeth explains here.
https://youtu.be/gsCreKh-Y8A?si=f7XVtimoLUlH_ixj
Well, it depends on how you define war.
This was a recent post by McBeth.
Elbridge Colby is wrong about Russia and Nuclear Weapons
https://ryanmcbeth.substack.com/p/elbridge-colby-is-wrong-about-russia
I wonder if Ryan McBeth is being overly sanguine about the state of America’s nuclear weapons. Some of what he says contradicts what Jeff has been saying. He thinks that there is rough parity between the US and Russia’s nuclear arsenals, and even if Russia has a 100 or so more warheads it’s not a significant difference. Neither is the fact that their delivery systems are more modern. He doesn’t mention anything about the 50% failure rate of Minutemen III tests in the last few years, nor Admiral Richard’s 2020 testimony before Congress that US nuclear weapons are close to their expiry date. He says that Russia would most likely only use tactical nukes in case of imminent advance by an enemy force (eg. if Ukraine were to make a breakthrough in Crimea). Given the Russian army’s poor logistics and inability to rapidly consolidate their hold on new territory, they would not use nukes to push through enemy defenses. China is likely forbidding Russia from using nukes in Ukraine because breaking the nuclear taboo would make things very difficult for the PLA’s planned amphibious invasion of Taiwan. (Interesting idea, but as noted it would be easier for China to just blockade Taiwan and apply political pressure.)
He’s right that Russian influencers are using nuclear war fearmongering to try to convince people that America should back off and let Russia do whatever it wants. In the end, Russia and China are going to do whatever they want regardless of Western “provocations”. But McBeth is not considering other things, namely that even if the US and Russia have nuclear parity, Russia + China’s nuclear arsenal is several times bigger than all of NATO’s combined. Granted, that’s according to Russia and China’s own boasting, but it’s a bit worrying to hear people assume the Communist powers have nothing in their back pocket just because they are so corrupt in other spheres. If that were the case, all their deception and infiltration of the West would be pointless from a global hegemony viewpoint, if they can’t “seal the deal” and make the West surrender. If rumours of Russia being frustrated with Biden are true, that shows that having friends and agents in high places only takes you so far.
I have heard McBeth talk as if U.S. nuclear weapons are equivalent to Russian weapons. We do not know what the state of Russian nuclear weapons are. However, my sources have always stated that Russia puts the very best they have into their nuclear forces. Colonel Lunev emphasized this during my first meeting with him in 1997. Nuclear weapons is what Moscow values, he said, as opposed to conventional forces. The late Peter Pry, who I had many conversations with, was very worried not only about our weapons and their functionality, but also about our nuclear posture. Readiness for war requires the right positioning of weapons and delivery systems. We have not placed our weapons in the same kind of positions the Russians have placed. In other words, there is no symmetry in this. Our weapons are vulnerable and not positioned properly to avoid neutralization. He could not understand this.
Jeff, can you comment on the likes of a Robert Spencer who has for years “spun” the jihadi narrative here? I have read much of his writings, books, etc, but he never ties the Communist connection to training various Mid East, Muslim leaders to Moscow University where they actually learned terrorist techniques from the KGB.
According to Spencer, it’s the Muslims alone who pose the threat to the West and not the Communist movement.
That said, I have commented not to, but now just have to laugh at Jimmy from Brooklyn every time he speaks to “radical Islam”….he has no clue about what he speaks. The truth is, words have meaning. For those who have read the Quran, there is no such thing as “radical Islam”. It’s “fundamentalist” beliefs set forth by their prophet and their God.
THE thing that we agree on is that the Russian/Kremlin Communists manipulated and coerced these Muslim fundamentalists long ago to be taught in methods of terrorism courtesy University of Moscow….Yassef Arafat, Abbas, just pick one. And today we suffer at the hands of those Muslim handlers, the KGB.
This is a complicated questions. If you read books by experts on Islam, like Bernard Lewis, you will see that Islam is not often fully united, that it consists of many sects and groupings, that its militancy waxes and wanes. Politically one should not push all Muslim groups into the arms of Beijing and Moscow. This does not mean we should allow Muslim immigration to inundate Christian countries. This would be inviting trouble, of course. I understand what the Muslim teachings are, and am familiar with what you refer to; yet history has many instances of Christian kings and even Republics working with Muslim kings and Arab states in alliances. History is full of such instances. Presently, we share an enemy with the Muslims. Nonetheless, the communists think the Muslims are their natural ally, and they have worked to make it so. Yet Moscow and Beijing have not won over all the Muslim countries. And why should we let them? America had an ally in Saudi Arabia that has now joined with Moscow and Beijing because Biden pushed them out. This may prove disastrous for our cause. The Gulf Oil is important for our allies, Japan and Europe. Politics often requires strange and unnatural alliances. We were aligned at one time with Stalin against Hitler. Muslims and Christians should realize that war between the West and Islam is not good for either side at this time. Does this mean the conflict between Islam and the West has ended forever? Of course not. But what sense does it make to push the whole Muslim world into our enemy’s camp?
This is a quote from one of the articles linked in Jeff’s original post, from 1999. If things were bad then, how much worse is it now? It’s shocking how crude and obvious the ChIS’s methods were back then, and still nothing was done about it.
http://www.arts.uwaterloo.ca/~gboychuk/psci332/mcadams.html
“Despite being told of files being deleted, finding fake immigration stamps and discovering that locally engaged staff had given themselves unauthorised high-level security clearance to issue visas, neither pursued the matter, and the case was closed in 1992.
McAdam continued with his reports alleging that 788 files with sensitive background information on criminals and businessmen had been removed from the computer and that nearly 2,000 blank visa forms were missing.”
There is a parliamentary committee right now investigating PRC interference in Canada’s elections process. Beijing is using foreign students to fraudulently vote in party nomination races, essentially electing its own MP’s in the Liberal Party. This is in addition to the ones already bought with just regular financial contributions or lucrative trade deals, or influenced by foreign friends or associates. I suspect such parliamentary inquiries are really downplaying the extent to which Canada’s whole political-democratic process, not just the Liberal Party, has already been subverted by the CCP, just a downstream effect of unchecked Chinese economic influence/immigration that no major party has the stomach to call out. But it gives the public the impression that something is being done, and that the problem was only a few isolated races in already heavily-Chinese ridings, so nothing to worry about.
https://www.theepochtimes.com/world/200-chinese-students-bused-in-for-han-dong-new-details-emerge-on-beijing-interference-5662628?&utm_source=MB_article_paid&utm_campaign=MB_article_2024-06-05-ca&utm_medium=email&est=ZhWI%2FJyA5u6ldy%2Fvmic7SF8wZxX%2FjroKGsJZjrkCSzbko5tWx7Iwo68DYqk5DPl4&utm_content=highlight-news-1
“The committee of parliamentarians in charge of reviewing security matters has released additional details about Beijing interference in the nomination of MP Han Dong, including the number of Chinese students who potentially fraudulently voted for him.
The National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP) released its “Special Report on Foreign Interference“ on June 3. The report, based on approximately 4,000 documents from relevant departments, mentions how some officials have ”wittingly” assisted foreign states after getting elected.”
Sidenote, I actually attended the University of Waterloo in the mid to late 2000’s (the link above is from the Arts Dept). I was a business major. In my program at least 60-70% of the student body was east Asian (mainly Chinese), the next largest group was Indian/Pakistani, and then whites. Many of the Chinese were born or came to Canada when they were little, they were mostly from Toronto and had no foreign accent. But I was surprised to learn that a few of them were from mainland China and that the Chinese government was paying for their studies. If I’m remembering right, other science/tech/engineering departments looked to be about 80-90% Chinese students at that time. One time, while waiting outside a professor’s office, I was looking at the pictures of graduating classes from the Accounting Department. Up to 1997 the students were overwhelmingly white, but starting in 1997 the number of Chinese students increased noticeably, with more and more graduating each year. I thought Hong Kong being taken over by China in 1997 had something to do with it, but a significant increase in HK/Chinese immigration must have started at least 4 years before. This ties in perfectly with the Sidewinder report. If nothing else, the CCP perfected the art of buying off capitalists and criminal gangs with their takeover of HK, which in turn was excellent practice for penetrating the Western economic system.
Thinking back to university, perhaps a lot of the foreign Chinese students in the Accounting Dept were dual Science-Accounting majors. But even so, isn’t it odd that the government would be paying for these students to study tax/accounting in a foreign country? It makes sense to have them study science technology, subjects with universal applicability, but accounting and tax are things that are specific to a particular country. Yet in the context of the Sidewinder report this makes sense, if Beijing was trying to get control of legitimate Canadian businesses and black/gray markets to use as a springboard for intelligence gathering and political influence operations. It reminds of movies and TV shows about the mafia, where they always have legit lawyers and accountants on their payroll.
Random question. There are quite a few typos in the copy of the report posted above, were these in the original introduction? I wonder if the original Sidewinder was written in a hurry because the information was deemed so important to get out.
Thank you for providing a summary of this invaluable report. It was an illuminating read.
The Sidewinder original was a carbon copy sent to me from Canada. It was hard to read, and it appeared to be written by people who were security personnel rather than professional writers. I have gone through the text, making sensible corrections.
There were typos and other errors typical of any writing that is hurried, but there were some parts that gave me the impression they were written by non-native English speakers. I don’t know if this is true or significant.
Just a detail — was Chiang-kai Shek a triad boss as alleged? A different individual?
Political powers in China have often used the triads or crime families as allies. But i am not knowledgeable on this aspect of Chaing’s career. Perhaps a Chinese reader can explain it for us.
Thanks for posting the Sidewinder info. The CSIS link on the second line of your introduction is blocked already. I went to the CSIS site and got the exactly response. It was blocked. I remember Jeff talked about this Sidewinder report a while ago. Maybe more than a year ago. I tried to learn about it but the info was pretty scarce. All of this stuff is overwhelming. Thanks for caring about freedom for 4 decades.
I had the Sidewinder report on my old site, twenty years ago, and I decided to repost it because a refresher is always good. In this case, it shows how Chinese infiltration works.
Off-topic, but of interest: https://pjmedia.com/robert-spencer/2024/06/08/a-world-historical-transformation-is-taking-place-in-britain-yet-few-have-noticed-n4929722
Also off-topic, but very significant, Turkey wants to join BRICS: https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/why-turkey-wants-join-brics
This is another step for Turkey towards Moscow and away from the West, which must happen on time for the Ezekiel 38 Russian-led assault on Israel, which I believe will probably be a response to the coming miscarriage of the whole BRICS project. That assault will happen in 2028/29 and after God’s obvious intervention against Russia and its leader, “Gog”, will trigger WW3 in earnest, as per the fires of Ezekiel 39v6 sent to both East and West.
This video educates me on the frightening power of cryptocurrencies that now can evade the USD. Imagine when the communists and their friends in BRICS and other communist fronts start to adopt the global, digital currency that will fulfill the one world international finance.

Benjamin Netanyahu is very strange here. Not only he was a close friend of Putin, and Israel still allows free-visa travel between the country and Russia. The penetration of Soviet agents in Israel is definitely very deep as the Israelites were helping Russians and Chinese to obtain American technologies and intels for decades.

The task force in Israel was close to shut down the international money networks of Hamas but Netanyahu shut it down. He also ignored all warnings about imminent Hamas’ Al Qassam Operation. Not to mention that Israelite patriots were already close to oust him for corruption, and the Hamas literally saved him from impeachment.
I now start to see that Israel-Hamas crisis is acting strangely in the favor of communists. Muslims now rally towards communism due to communist Biden’s appearance of sucking up to Israel, while dictator Netanyahu (a possible agent of Kremlin) remains in power to facilitate the Jewish spy rings to steal secrets from the West.
It’s amazing. Russia continually stokes the Arab-Israeli conflict but both sides view Russia as a friend. Meanwhile the US’s help is taken for granted. I wonder at some of this. Iran is a sworn enemy of Israel, and is backed to the hilt by Russia and China to the point of acquiring nuclear weapons. Every nation has its traitors, yet some Israelis are willing to sell nuclear technology to Russia and China, knowing full well they are no friends of Israel. Or do they think that by helping out Russia and China in this way, they will call off the Iranian attack dog?
Jeff, what is your opinion on Netanyahu stopping the investigation into Hamas’ ties to Chinese banks? One explanation I heard, that he wanted to protect more valuable sources, doesn’t seem satisfactory especially in light of Israeli intelligence’s failure to predict the October 7 attack. Or, is it true that Netanyahu was warned about the attack beforehand but the warnings were ignored?
Out of all closest allies to the US, Israel still allows Russian citizens going to the country without visas. Not to mention that many Hamas hostages are Russians. So Russia still has a huge sway over Israel, and it’s very strange that the US never ever pressures Israel over this issue.
Iran used to distrust Soviets/Russia over this secret brotherhood with Israel until more recent events that saw the whole Iranian elites have absolutely became Soviet/Russian stooges. Let’s not forget that Israel helped Iran fighting against Saddam Hussein’s Iraq! The Soviets aided the US, Israel, Iran to destroy Iraq because Hussein dynasty was never a true friend of Soviets and international communists like Nicolae Ceaușescu or Tito who both seeked their own independent agenda.
Israel is very very suspicious
Israel is just another infiltrated, clueless, Western country.
I confess that I have been troubled by the IDF’s botched rescue of victims of the Hamas attack. An Israeli familiar with the military and intelligence apparatus claimed that security is so high that an insect can trip the perimeter alarm; pilots were reported to be sitting in their planes waiting for hours for the order to take off; there was a horrifying graphic showing how many hours elapsed while the victims were making frantic phone calls pleading for help. Ever since, I have been wondering to what extent Israel has been infiltrated and betrayed from within.
Israel must be slow and careful because Hamas uses the people of Gaza as human shield. This is a great handicap.
Netanyahu, like many leaders of the past, has thought to avoid trouble and make profit by dealing with Russia and China. Yes, they hold the leash on Iran. Yes, these deals have probably compromised Netanyahu (who apparently does not understand Moscow’s game or his country’s role in it). And why would he? He can sense that his country is a diversionary target. The oil is the real prize. Anti-Israeli animus helps the communists consolidate their hold on the oil-producing Arab states who are obligated to embargo the West in the advent of a crisis. The question is whether they will go along with an oil embargo, or whether they must be forced into it. The more Israel is demonized the more the Gulf States must turn against Israel’s supporters in the West. Of course, Netanyahu could be as corrupt as some allege. But that may not be of prime importance. Fill a room with world leaders and ask them about Golitsyn. All would probably ask, “Who is that?”
I should add that Israel stupidly joined the Belt and road initiative. China could be in a position to hurt Israel financially. Any politician or businessman who economically deals with China can find himself compromised. In 2021, China officially surpassed the United States to become Israel’s greatest source of imports. In an effort to diversify its foreign reserves, Israel added the Chinese yuan to its central bank reserves for the first time in April 2022, while reducing its holdings of the US dollar and the euro. That gives China leverage over Israel. Has Netanyahu been compromised. Probably.
Sad that if you ask most “conservatives” anything about Israel, almost every one will tell you that “we (the U.S.) must support Israel unequivocally …because it’s what their Bible tells them. Even when (as you state) it seems Netanyahu is possibly corrupt, certainly not a Godly leader. But in my lifetime I don’t think many of Israel’s leaders are, or have been.
We give this country more aid than any other, meanwhile they have one of the most powerful militaries, including nukes, one of the most capable intelligence apparatus’ and they take our money and spy on us same as the Communists.
Again, most conservatives don’t know any of these brief details, but their ideology says “support Israel”! 🤦♂️
I am not sure what a “Godly” leader would be, nowadays. Netanyahu is presently quoting what he calls “the Holy Bible” in reference to God’s commandment to destroy the Amalekites. What does he believe in his heart? That is between Netanyahu and God. Politics broke away from religion after the wars of religion; that is, wars between Protestants and Catholics. We have seen extreme persecutions of the Jews during the last century. In this day and age, people’s thoughts about God and spiritual things, are perhaps more varied and confused than ever.
It was the widespread desire to stop religious wars that led to edicts of tolerance in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, and to the gradual removal of religious dogmatizing from the political sphere. Our eighteenth century Constitution enshrined in our First Amendment the “Establishment Clause” and the “Free Exercise Clause.” Because various people read the Bible differently, and because of the inherent tangles and complexities involved, it is destructive of civil peace to force fixed religious dogmas on citizens. In this way we have prevented religious strife in America. This has also led to a decline in fervent beliefs or fanatical religious pronouncements. Large numbers of Americans have stopped going to Church, and the Churches have adopted socialistic notions more and more. I do not know what Netanyahu’s religious beliefs are. He was a very brave soldier and did amazing things for his country. The process of political secularization does not necessarily mean that secular people are evil. We see evil behavior in all types of people. What has been most harmful is the nihilistic creeds and notions that suggest we can remake ourselves in any fashion we choose. The danger, for many Christians, was that they were remaking God in their image. The secular danger is that we will make man into a monster. We are in the early phases now, adopting transexualism and opening the way to transhumanism; the integration of men with machines.
I am not worried about American support for Israel. I am worried that we will lose all our allies because we have not been a faithful friend. The real problem is the progress of the New Religion in our midst — the religion of socialism. This is gradually destroying our society. It is a measure of the unseriousness of Christians that they have not fully checked the New Religion (i.e., socialism). Rather, I see them slowly succumbing to the same internal process as the rest of the country. The indoctrination of Christians takes various forms, yet this new indoctrination has originated in the think tanks of the socialist bloc. It is very subtle.
BRICS will only apply to the nations of the East but will fail very early on because they don’t know what they’re doing. This will lead to a catastrophic loss of quality of life in “the sea”, i.e., the barbarian lands of the East, as per the symbolism of Rev 16’s second plague. Following on from that will be horrific oppression in the East (and West) under the fourth plague (the “sun” scorching the world), albeit in the West that heavy handed government response will be to keep a lid on the unrest of the third plague, which shall be massive civil unrest and bloodshed caused by the Islamic hordes now in our midst.
That said, there will be a social credit system and CBDCs throughout the West too, but not connected to the BRICS system.
Brazil is not in the “East.”
Jeff, I have followed Gen. Ben Hodges for a while and he’s one of a few who seem to know what is the right strategy. This is another great interview (link below).
The U.S. must help Ukraine defeat Russia which first, and foremost helps Europe, as it stops Putin and the Kremlin’s strategy and desire to reestablish the old Soviet Union. But as Hodges states, in turn it “sends a powerful signal of deterrence to China”.
Hodges has said numerous times the U.S., ie, the current administration, has never had a clear strategy toward helping Ukraine win this war.
We have never said “we will help Ukraine win this war”…instead, it’s we continue to support Ukraine and then drag our feet with providing any type of aid.
And as you have stated many times, I, too believe this is intentional with our current administration.

Hodges is trying to be optimistic here, and he is describing the realities on the ground. Yet drones have stalemated this war, and new kinds of robot weapons are being developed. This is the industrial competition that is evolving. It is terrifying to see what this implies. Robotic weapons of a very small type — lethal insect-like robots — could emerge from this war. Russia and China are fully committed. Are we?
I posed a question to Ryan back when he was interviewed (4 hours) by Danny Jones, regarding Russia’s nuclear strategy.
Me:
Recently, a U.S. Air Force General testified before Congress that our Minute Men III’s have reached their lifespan and no one knows if these even function as intended.
The Chinese and Russians have continued to build up their nuclear arsenal even since Reagan told us the Cold War ended. In other words, the Cold War never ended.
We make worthless treaties over 5 decades with the Communists to deplete each of our nuclear arsenals but the Communists never stopped. What makes you think that we are still superior to the Chinese or Russians in 2024?
Ryan McBeth:
That’s a good question. We are building new nuclear weapons – the B61-13 gravity bomb and the new Sentinel missile come to mind. We don’t really “need” to test warheads anymore since much of that can be simulated on a supercomputer. I think that the one advantage we have is that our weapons work. I have a hard time believing that the Russians are maintaining their nuclear stockpile at 100%. Remember, isotopes like Tritium decay and need to be replaced periodically. Is it reasonable to think that if Russia was underfunding its land forces that somehow it would fund its strategic rocket forces at 100%. The missiles on their ballistic missile submarines probably work, and maybe some gravity bombs, but I would not be surprised if their warheads have decayed over time with no money to replace them. China might be a different story.
Mmmm, this was a reply to lauraz1986 comment regarding Ryan MvBeth’s recent Substack article and video regarding Elbridge Colby, Russia and nuclear weapons, however it is posted at the end of this thread somehow….
Back in 2000 Russia was offering to sell us tritium because Clinton had closed our tritium plants. I doubt the Russians have failed to produce the needed tritium. Of course, they are famous for bungling; but we should not assume they are bungling in this area. Of course, we do not know the state of Russia’s nukes.
It is not wise to rely on the enemy being a bungler. Besides, even bunglers can get lucky.
Nobody is relying on Russian bungling. Merely, it is the only thing saving us right now.
