Memorial Day: Remembering Those Who Have Fallen (and an Interview with Nevin)

…the value of a place to stand, which was hardly questioned until the present….

Richard M. Weaver

Americans who found a place to stand and died for their country are remembered today. Richard M. Weaver, commenting on modernity’s “attack on memory,” said that cultural life “depends upon the remembrance of acknowledged values, and for this reason any sign of a prejudice against memory is a signal of danger.”[i]

Amnesia, noted Weaver, also signals a loss of identity. That, indeed, is what we suffer from. It is no wonder, then, that the narcissism which afflicts us is categorized as an identity disorder. The same can be said for those who have forgotten they are men, or women, or human beings. They have lost their sexual identity as well as their sense of national identity. Weaver noted, “When we realize the extent to which one’s memory is oneself, we are made to wonder whether there is not some element of suicidal impulse in this mood, or at least an impulse of self-hatred.”[ii]

There is, today, a school of self-hating Americans. It includes those who memorialized George Floyd this weekend. Floyd’s death in police custody was used to excuse a summer of rioting, arson, and looting. Meanwhile, our supposedly “racist” justice system ultimately convicted four police officers in relation to Floyd’s death. While racism is a reality, Floyd was a drug addict and violent criminal whose death was tragic; yet his was not the death of a law-abiding citizen. It is troubling, then, that Floyd became a symbol for those socialist and communist revolutionaries who pretend to seek equality in a cynical “divide-and-conquer” game of pitting black and white against each other. Their false belief in the radical homogenization of all classes, sexes, and races contradicts the very diversity they pretend to celebrate.

Our survival as a nation depends on “carrying the past into the present through the power of memory.”[iii] What matters, then, is what we remember and who we celebrate. Here we should not depend on tragic events recast to provoke riots. Instead we should look back to a process of pulling together against a common enemy. From this we have built our national identity out of all classes of people who call themselves Americans. And this is something our fallen heroes have underscored for us, more than we realize. If we deny who they were and what they fought for, we deny our own nationhood. Amnesia becomes, in this situation, an instrument of national self-murder.

According to Weaver., “To be human is to live in two tenses, the past and the future, both of which require for their construction the mind and therefore the memory.”[iv] And so, the call is for us to think and to remember, on this day more than other days.

It is indeed the value of human life and dignity, as God’s creations human souls are, that is missing or at least is considered prejudicial and thus detrimental to their way of what they, the godless, dare to call progress, that is the dividing point over which there can never be any agreement nor compromises made.

In fact, the godless must be always excluded from such determination and influence, because when or if their heretical atheistic opinions would be allowed to influence the way of life of many, or be permitted to cause the change of the very foundations of the society and system of liberty and justice in a freedom protecting country, then all will be on the way to a complete chaos and destruction of the existing system of government will be in its train and following most assuredly – as all countries that have been subverted by the godless communists do testify.

So then it also must be the guiding principle of all to have this in mind – that those who have set their standard of life to cause harm to others by proving them with an impossibility or a difficulty of any kind to their eternal salvation of their soul, which all godless systems do require of their adherents to fulfill, then such systems of atheistic tyranny and injustice must be resisted and never permitted to exist or to see the slightest compromise and be allowed to exist, under the guise of “equality”, as injustice and atheistic heresy cannot have any such allowance at all…ever, as it is not equal to the belief in God nor to any human soul that does believe in God (truly that is).

But what does it mean today ?

Too late are these lamentations to be made, as the time has progressed so badly and the door of perdition has been opened so widely that communism is now entrenched firmly in the minds and hearts of so many people that they will cause that harm to the truth and justice and will not deviate from that evil task one bit – as the devil is their master and his hatred for the human race is reflecting in the hatred of the godless against those who resist them and are not with them in their fanatical atheism…and so the divide, created by the communists and their fellow travelers, is so wide today that there is no escaping the consequences of it, not now nor in the not so distant future either.

Atheistic communism will take over the whole world, and then it will be exterminated completely by God, when the proper time comes, after the 3 and half years of the reign of the Antichrist, as it is all foretold and written. And the greater the hatred of all Divine by the godless, the greater their punishment will be..and at the end they all will burn in Hell forever. There is no escaping the infinitely just hands of God, He WILL repay !

They have slept for long decades while the communists penetrated the whole government and media apparatus, including the justice system, and have been using it in pro-communist warfare to suppress the basic human and religious liberties that they must never be allowed to alter.

These people in the so called conservative media, although here Mr. Dobbs doing good job exposing the truth, are now so surprised about all this, while the anti-communist fight was going on for decades they were silent and even called it “conspiracy theories” and “thin-foil hat nonsense” and such like idiocy and disregard of the truth.

They should be so sorry now for causing this much damage, people who had the opportunity and media influence to set things right and help the truth to be spread, are now wondering themselves and even outraged but they are about 25 years too late…

Nevertheless, Mr. Dobbs is now saying the truth about the communist penetration of the media and government, and so one must be thankful for that, even though it is way too late – and there is no use for the term corruption BUT solely fully Russian and Chinese communist organized infiltration and nearly complete subversion, which various defectors have warned America about for several decades now….Some risking their lives in doing so.

    1. This is the video title if anyone is wondering.
Son of Hamas Co-Founder Denounces Group at UN, Exposes ‘Savage’ Indoctrination of Palestinian Kids” [Nov 20, 2023 speech]

Very good speech! He notes that the Oct 7 attack was a birthday gift to Putin (min 19) and at around minute 22 he singles out Russia and Qatar for giving legitimacy to Hamas. Mosab Hassan Yousef even worked with Israeli intelligence in anti-terrorist operations, so he likely knows a lot more about Hamas and its foreign backers than he’s saying publicly. I also see there’s a recent video of Yousef being interviewed by Jordan Peterson but I haven’t had time to watch it. It would be interesting to see Peterson’s reaction to Yousef laying out the facts of Russia and China’s material support for Hamas. Being pro-Russia and pro-Israel at the same time is inherently contradictory and an untenable position in the long-term. How do pro-Israel evangelicals justify their support of Putin, or do they pretend that there’s no contradiction? Sooner or later one side has to win out, and I suspect some people resolve this contradiction by full on embracing anti-Semitic conspiracy theory. That would explain some of the increase in anti-Semitism on the right that we’re seeing.

      1. In Yousef’s talk to students at Columbia University, he refers to to Russia orchestrating the Islamic violence.

        1. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rAmUh1PbI6I&t=313s&pp=ygUqbW9zYWIgaGFzc2FuIHlvdXNlZiBhdCBjb2x1bWJpYSB1bml2ZXJzaXR5

More specifically, about 52:06, he says Iran wants to initiate a global war, orchestrated by Russia.

          1. Yes. The professor asks about Iran’s role. And the son of the Hamas leader says, “Iran is the master of all this tragedy…. And they want to ignite a regional war — a global war orchestrated by Russia.”

          2. Yes, and as Laura pointed out, in his speech to the U.N., he highlighted the fact that the October 7 barbarism against Israel was a birthday gift to Putin.

        2. Alexander Litvineko, the FSB defector who was poisoned with polonium in 2006, said that Moscow was behind 9/11. To hear this openly from other sources, confirms the notion that Russia has been fighting us all along.

      2. Those are good points, Laura.

  6. Regarding the bungle factor …

Joe Lonsdale, a venture capitalist heavily involved in artificial intelligence, was at a conference a few weeks ago and was asked about China and AI. His response was:

“China, I think, is a much worse environment to operate in. A lot of our Chinese billionaire friends have disappeared, seem to have been killed. Some have fled. Xi Jinping acted very strongly against the tech class and tech leaders. [He] made it very clear to you that friends don’t let friends become Chinese tech billionaires because that’s a very dangerous thing to do.

“And so, what’s interesting is a lot of the top entrepreneurial work, including AI in the US, is led by those of us who’ve already built big companies and then you can do more, and you can put lots of capital to work and you can help others and do it again. It’s just a very positive feedback loop in the US because we’re allowed to keep our wealth. We’re allowed to speak out when we want. At least, that’s the way it’s been in the past.

“And so a lot of people, whether it’s Elon, whether it’s Sam Altman who’s built other companies, whether it’s Mark Zuckerberg, they’re very powerful people pushing hard to build this wave here and to bring in talent and do that. So, the US has a huge advantage.

“In China, almost nobody who’s successful wants to do another one because it’s dangerous and it doesn’t really add to your quality of life. It makes you a much bigger target. So China screwed themselves over. Europe seems to have a pretty bad regulatory environment as well. The US is also just way, way ahead and building very quickly here. So this is a hugely positive thing for the United States.”

Of course he was primarily talking about the commercial side. There is still the military / intelligence side, but losses in the commercial side will affect those also.

    1. Very interesting. The problems of communist systems, autocratic management, etc., often discourage innovation and invention. If the West wakes up to the danger from Russia and China, and the danger of internal collectivist ideology, we can survive and grow out of our economic problems. The more serious problems we have, of course, stem from the destruction of motherhood and the family, and the reproductive dysfunction that is developing in the West.

      1. I think you are far too mild about reproductive dysfunction. It’s been here for awhile, and was heading into chaos back in the late 80s. The results are plain, and are a result of the cultural dysfunction brought on by feminism and other forms of stupidity brought on by the country turning from God.

It is written in the Holy Scripture:
        (Isaias 57: 20 – 21)

20 But the wicked are like the raging sea, which cannot rest, and the waves thereof cast up dirt and mire. 21 There is no peace to the wicked, saith the Lord God.
        —–
There is no spiritual peace to the souls of the wicked, the godless and also the hedonistic and covetous, and as well, in the sense of their eternal punishment in Hell, there is no peace there for them, as: “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not extinguished” (St. Mark 9 : 43).

So then they created for themselves ideology which leads to Hell and nowhere else, and they think that this evil tyrannical path is the only path for the mankind to take, and that all those who would not take it ought to be either “re-educated” or exterminated.

And that’s why the communists insist for so many years to have state run education system, and they would (are today) the state and thus the arbiter of what the youth is educated with, and what is excluded. And one day, hopefully soon, God will say to them His no…and they will hear it, because when He says no, it hurts (extensively).

And that’s the additional meaning that there is no peace to the wicked – and they don’t seek it either….

Various kinds of intrusions seems to be very common now. I searched for articles about spies and intrusions into restricted areas in Swedens largest tabloids (www.aftonbladet.se). Hundreds of articles depending on search term used. Some related to sports, but many about security.

Intrusions seems to be varying a lot. Not all are for spying purposes. Some are just mistakes. Some are deliberate, but benign, such as a person crossing four meters into a restricted area to collect mushrooms. Expensive mushrooms for him. Others are deliberate and probably not with an intelligence gathering purpose. Such as urban exploration, but who knows. Urban explorers tend to publish photos so it can be damaging even though that’s not their intent. But a number of intrusions are hostile. Of those I guess only some are reported in the news. One I recall from a few years ago was someone arrested, and then released after questioning. This person didn´t show up for further questioning and was later found to have had used a false identification and probably left the country.

Another common occurrence now is drones. The last years it’s reported that unknown drones are seen at most military exercises, and they have been seen near and over bases and restricted areas a lot.

Early this month there was a shooting near Fort Liberty, there a colonel killed a chechen man. I find that curiously interesting.

      1. Interesting.

  7. This is very disturbing. It doesn’t appear that our FBI is taking this seriously enough. They appear to be either working with Russia or incompetent.

  8. On the issue of stored weapons, that is very easy to hide. I did some consulting for small businesses, and visited their warehouses—even a fairly small warehouse had enough room to store four 40 ft shipping containers leaving most of the warehouse free for a front business. Assuming that a Chinese division of troops is the same size as what they had in Korea, 1,250 men per division, two containers—one with 5000 AK-47s, the second with uniforms—could outfit four divisions of troops. One small warehouse housing a front business, could supply eight divisions. Multiply that by 25 and you have the number of troops the CCP is trying to infiltrate to start the war, according to Lude Media. How close are the CCP in infiltrating that number of troops, when in one border entrance they infiltrated the equivalent of 24 divisions in the last few months?

To give a little historical reference, the CCP sent 10 divisions to the Frozen Chosin to take out one division of battle hardened marines. That history rivals Xenophon’s Anabasis.

On the issue of civil war, I don’t think the communists will get their wish. The only way I see that they could start it is to have their assets—Black Lives Matter, Antifa, gangs, etc.—start frontal attacks on smaller town America. How many of their members will be willing to follow their leaders? Especially when they start taking casualties?

    1. Much depends on timing and the surrounding atmosphere. We have no exact knowledge for exact predictions.

    2. I have long doubted the Red Chinese would stage an all out invasion. What can be done, and based on what has been seen on weapons smuggling and the numbers of military age of the men coming across the borders, they are preparing small units that will draw weapons and explosives, who can then strike and do a large amount of damage to certain weak points in the US that could seriously cripple us. Poeple don’t realize just how many failure points may be easily hit, with very long lead times for repair/replacement. Substation transformers are a good example. While the power companies have a few spares, those will be expended fairly quickly and replacements take about a year from order to delivery.

A serious consideration: Those failure points could make the rest even harder to protect. The question is, how many dominoes will fall in the process, and we won’t know until everything is put to the touch. The country has turned fat, dumb and happy, and isn’t paying near the attention they should be. It will probably be more serious that Pearl Harbor.

      1. You dare not do anything to Superman without using kryptonite. You do not attack the USA unless you intend to destroy and occupy.

      2. The U.S. historically is not like Asia. Unlike Asia, historically we don’t fold when attacked. Not even if attacked with a “nuclear Pearl Harbor” (Japanese warning to us). We should hope that enough Americans still hold that attitude. After a nuclear surprise attack, the CCP must put boots on the ground, absolutely defeat us, else we will come back.

@Ohengineer: That’s what I also agree as well. Many defectors told us that Chinese intend to occupy America continent, not just the USA in general. There is no usage for North America if it turns into a radioactive wasteland (even if radiations go away) because it will be expensive to repair infrastructure and systems. The plan for the Chinese and other communists is to build a sizeable population to subvert the control of the US economically and politically.

        1. Xeno Man, always ready to cleverly attempt to undermine what Jeff has revealed, and also try to try and subtly cause division on this site.

One of our more clever trolls, indeed.

Jeff has brought out time and again, that the plan has always been for China to have the U.S. mainland south of Canada, while Russia takes Canada and Alaska.

But, I’m sure you would day that the latent Asiatic genes of conquest will cause China to take it all.

I think it’s been clearly explained that North America will not have to be turned into a radioactive wasteland as well.

        2. Even a nuclear war does not turn America into a radioactive wasteland, as long as you avoid unnecessary ground-bursting and you avoid causing nuclear power plants to melt down.

Jeff Nyquist may it be that China will attack the Philippines instate of Taiwan? Or what exactley is their strategy? Furthermore the perfect timing is now, with Trump President it will be more complicated

    1. The specifics of Chinese military strategy would be focused on the defeat of America — not Taiwan or the Philippines. Small countries will fall in line when the U.S. is defeated.

      1. Giacomo Avatar
        Giacomo

How can they defeat the United States? Something like an invasion could create a massive economic crisis in the USA as well as in Europe. If China will be sanctioned we will have the biggest recession of hour history, this could defeat us.

        1. China is hoping to dislocate our economy or force us to surrender our allies to avoid financial loss.

      2. Have you read any of Mr. Nyquist’s essays, or have you listened to his interviews? If you did, then you’d know that we’re (U.S.) not what we were. According to Jeff, despite what most Americans seem to think, this decline has been happening gradually over the past few decades, and it continues–even accelerated under Obama, and now, of course, Biden. Biden especially has made us enfeebled like he is. So, yes, it’s possible that the U.S. can be invaded and taken over by hostile agents and foreign powers.

        1. Exactly.

      3. Janelle, they don’t have to invade and take over. Frankly, I don’t see that happening. I see crippling strikes carried out by the military age men that have come in from Russia, China, Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Cuba, drawing from weapons stocks that are already here. There will probably be enough of a fifth column to allow them to make a huge mess.

        1. Ohengineer:

Hence, the invasion is underway. Why invade if you don’t intend to destroy and/or take over?

      4. OHEngineer: If I understand Chi Haotian’s secret speech correctly, their intent is to exterminate us and then recolonize the land with Chinese people. What you are describing is very likely just the opening salvo.

        1. Exactly.

      5. I said ‘possible’, not probable. Jeez.

      6. Why fritter away your forces attacking the small countries, when the big country is coming to defend them? Concentrate all available forces to defeat the big enemy first, then the smaller ones will be easier to deal with.

      7. “The specifics of Chinese military strategy would be focused on the defeat of America — not Taiwan or the Philippines. Small countries will fall in line when the U.S. is defeated.”

Arguably Covid was the perfect opportunity for China to attack, when the U.S. and the West were riven by internal chaos. No one would have noticed a military build-up then. It’s also interesting that Russia’s strategy seems to be the exact opposite, ie. Russia is attacking the smaller countries first, starting with Ukraine. There seems to be a catch-22 here, in that Russia and China need to defeat the U.S. to get the other countries, but they also need to go through a few other countries first to defeat the U.S. I think Russia’s war in Ukraine is about setting the stage for China to defeat the U.S. in an all-out attack. If Europe is controlled by the communist camp that makes China’s victory almost assured. For some reason Russia’s successful subversion and infiltration of European politics (eg. Germany) is not considered enough to gain control of Europe on its own. Otherwise Russia’s aggression doesn’t make a lot of sense since they are losing the element of surprise and causing the slumbering West to re-arm. If it were just a question of peeling off U.S. allies before the big attack, through a combination of economic pressure and internal subversion, then Russia and China could easily do it. And yet still, they felt the need to start a kinetic war in Ukraine first.

        1. There is this problem when you have “friends” inside NATO. They cannot surrender NATO by giving surrender orders to everyone else. That would not work. Russia has tried to get control of Europe for years. As I documented earlier this month, Boris Yeltsin asked Bill Clinton the give Europe to Russia. Bill Clinton said, “The Europeans would not like that.” How can you get people to surrender? You have to have some kind of demonstration of strength. Notice how long the Russians waited before invading Ukraine. They were hoping to turn the situation around with subversion. But there is only so much subversion can do when masses of people are determined on freedom.

      8. Russian strategy seems not always to have succeeded. The big prizes in Europe are Germany, France and England. In order to get to those prizes, Russia needs to go through other, smaller countries, starting with Ukraine. Their invasion of Ukraine started in 2014, with Crimea and eastern Ukraine. In hindsight, they hoped to topple the nascent Ukrainian government through limited attacks, so they could regain control of Ukrainian industries with minimal damage. Much of Russian military hardware was built in Ukraine.

Then they hoped that their Blitzkrieg in 2022 would succeed. Had it succeeded, the West probably would have shrugged its shoulders, after all, Ukraine was not part of Western military and economic sphere. The unexpected Ukrainian defeat of the Russian Blitzkrieg has woken up the West to the danger it’s in, but maybe too late. It takes time to tool up the factories and ramp up production of military supplies, and the West has just started. Meanwhile much of the supplies we already had have been used up in Ukraine, so we are probably weaker militarily now than in 2022.

While Russia, too, has lost a lot of conventional forces in Ukraine, their nuclear forces, both tactical and strategic, are waiting in the wings. And Russia plans to use them. They’re just waiting for the right time to use them. As Jeff has mentioned previously, air-burst nukes leave minimal radioactivity, so that troops can follow nuclear attacks almost immediately.

So the picture we have is that the one clenched fist of Russian and China is aimed primarily at the U.S. and its allies, and that the main attack will start with a surprise attack using nuclear weapons, both strategic and tactical. Russia will supply nukes used against the U.S. mainland, China the manpower for the ground war. With the U.S., nuked and invaded, out of the picture, Russia can aim for its prizes in Europe. With the attack on the U.S., NATO will be activated, so Russia will have a kinetic war in Europe on its hands at the same time.

The main prize for China in the U.S. is not industry, as they have largely de-industrialized the U.S. through their predatory economic policies, rather it’s the farmland.

What I don’t know is when the attack will come. It could come as soon as this summer, it may wait a few years. The longer they wait, the more prepared we will be for it.

Jeff, or anyone else, do you see anything wrong with this analysis?

        1. From many sources, now, we see that some kind of direct action against America is coming in October, just before the election. Chinese sources say that Beijing wants to disrupt our elections, or even trigger a civil war here. A larger war with an invasion of the U.S. would likely follow a successful October-November attack under “false colors.”

          1. Not good.

The plan for Ukraine seems to have been to take it over in as short a time as possible. This obviously didn´t work, but almost did despite all the bungling going on. Now they are on plan B, C or D, or something. Which might actually be to their advantage considering the statements Jeff got from Lude Media that the war in Ukraine is used to test and develop tactics and equipment.

The reason for going to war in Ukraine might have been multifaceted. One reason could be to put the supply chain back together, as key components of Russian equipment was manufactured in Ukraine. Now that has to be sourced elsewhere. Another reason might be gain control of the land, both for it’s produce, and for use as staging ground when attacking western Europe.

      1. We see from Ukraine that war has changed a great deal. Drones have changed it, and the Russians are getting a lot of experience with drone warfare.

Subversion, use of local communist assets inside the government, all the way down to the local and county levels, and also mass arrests of the anti-communist or potential anti-communist resistance, Marshall Law and then communist revolution.

They have enough assets to start the civil war and the illegals will be part of it, no doubt.

Nuclear and Biological warfare will be used when necessary but the main fighting will most likely be done in gradual stages, including terrorism, which they will try to blame on “Islam”, of course using the BLM and Antifa communist saboteurs as well.

These are diabolically possessed fanatics and they will not stop, they don’t understand anything else but bear direct force…and the rope or bullet from the firing squad…then many of them may regret what they have done, but not before.

Of course they hate justice and truth, as their master the devil hates the truth, as God is the Truth Himself.

Biden and the whole democrat communist Mafia – they don’t know it yet but when they are no longer needed by the Moscow center, they are to be exterminated, the quickest possible way…that’s what the history of Stalinist purges teaches…and those were mostly Communist Party members that were sentenced to years of Gulags, many of them never coming out alive. Of course the US military leadership is also penetrated, there is nothing to hope for from them, and they will claim the Nazi angle – they were following orders (from KGB assets that is.) God will repay these evildoers, including the KGB penetrated FBI and so on.

It looks like Trump has been found guilty and may be sent to prison where he almost definitely will not run for president ensuring a second Biden term. This is not a good look for US politics and reminds me of the show trials of Nazi Germany or Communist Russia. I don’t personally know what the long term impact of this will be. I think it is not as big a deal as many would make mainly because he didn’t do a lot of the things he promised in his first term and was responsible for Operation Warp Speed.

If he is ruled out this means that Christians have been lied to by a lot of people. We were promised a two term Trump presidency. What does this mean for those prophets? Can we stone them?

It is evident that the abuse of authority is being legitimized and thus the whole world being set up to learn to accept it – OR ELSE…

This is a known communist warfare, and it is a book case situation in the US, this is how they have always done it – arrest and persecute the opposing ranks and make sure that when even the controlled opposition is shown as “persecuted” and dragged into court rooms of communist judges, then the rest of the country will become more careful not to resist anymore, or in less substantial manner – it is a communist scare tactic and it truly does work.

Moreover, they are actively collecting personal data on all who help Trump and all who are tied with him, with money and support, and they, the communists embedded inside the various government agencies (those in particular that are responsible for law enforcement, communications and surveillance etc.), they are collecting all such data for future political trails and open communist persecution.

This is of course nothing new, it dates all the way back to Lenin, Stalin etc, but they had years and more technological upgrades to modernize and improve the data collection, as it becomes more fruitful, specially with the Internet and so on.

One more thing – they would have never gone further with this if Trump had called Marshall Law when it became obvious they cheated in 2020, before he left the WH, he didn’t do it, he played Kerensky and now he’s in the mire himself, surrounded by communists in NYC, and most likely he will have to endure it…or they are provoking Civil War…(which they, meaning the Kremlin, would love to see develop, as that would weaken the US much more and without using too many Russian assets and military force).

And of course, the case of Trump serves the communists also in creating a major attack on morale of the hated capitalist countries, as when always the communist penetrated “justice” fails to deliver it and instead purposely inflicts injustice, by abusing the judicial authority, which is plainly visible in the NYC Trump case today.

The only way to resist it is to be involved in active anti-communist resistance, on equal terms/levels with the communist lawfare, but with lot of prudence not to leave too many traces behind, in the judicial resistance there needs to be more participation of the elected officials, which, such ranks of these so called Republicans, are penetrated by the communist controlled opposition, so the good results are highly unlikely, which is usually the outcome.

    1. Trump could not have declared Martial Law in the 2020 election aftermath. It was not an option as he was not supported by leading officials. He would have been arrested and impeached and ruined. None of the generals would have supported him, and his Attorney General would have opposed him to the bargain. The demonstration he called in Washington was ill-considered and was used to for the provocation that led to the claim of insurrection. He did not realize how his enemies operate. One can only play the cards in one’s hand. He did well to escape with his skin.
