Lesson’s on the Middle East

As for the British and French, they were completely knocked out of the Middle East.”

In his book, Red Star Over Bethlehem, veteran American diplomat Ira Hirschmann outlined “Russia’s drive for the Middle East” in the 1950s and 60s. To get a foothold in the region, all Moscow needed was an Arab leader hungry for weapons. Egyptian President Gamel Abdel Nasser of Egypt was that leader. He was ambitious, he was charismatic, and he wanted weapons so he could attack and destroy the state of Israel.
In 1955 the Egyptian president told Ira Hirschmann, “If I can’t get major arms from the Americans, I will get them from the Russians.”[ii] Hirschmann asked Nasser why he needed weapons if his policy was one of peace. “I must defend my people from the Israelis,” said Nasser. “Eisenhower and Dulles are stalling on major arms. I cannot wait any longer. I will be obliged to turn East.”
Since Eisenhower and Dulles refused to give Nasser tanks and guns, he carried out his threat and aligned Egypt with Moscow. When he got Soviet tanks, he nationalized the Suez Canal. The British and French governments were upset by this because the canal was largely owned by French and British shareholders. In response to Nasser’s nationalization of the canal, the British, Israelis and French invaded Egypt. Their objective was to retake their property and depose Nasser. As the Egyptian drama was playing out, Hungary revolted against Moscow. The Soviets acted as if they might allow Hungary to leave the communist bloc. This was pure deception, of course, as they invaded Hungary to crush the uprising. It is odd, indeed, that Eisenhower did not oppose the Soviet invasion of Hungary. Instead, Eisenhower joined with Moscow in opposing the British and French (and Israeli) invasion of Egypt.
On hearing of the invasion, Secretary of State John Foster Dulles summoned French Ambassador Hervé Alphand. “This is the darkest day in the history of the Western Alliance,” said Dulles. “It might even be the end of the alliance itself.” Dulles complained that the French news blackout had “done me the gravest personal damage and has put me in an impossible situation … the action and intervention of France and Britain is just the same as the behavior of the Soviet Union in Budapest.” The French Ambassador was shocked and offended. Dulles realized he had gone too far and apologized. “I beg your pardon,” he told Alphand. “You must understand that I am speaking under the stress of the great emotion that such a terrible thing could have happened.”[iii]
Hirschmann claimed that Eisenhower and Dulles had “lost their heads.” He claimed, “Their personal resentment and personal vindictiveness were allowed to overcome their cool judgment.” But there is more to this story. The CIA under Allen Dulles knew all about the planned French/British/Israel invasion and initially appeared to support the invasion. But then, MI6 deputy director George Young suggested overthrowing the governments of Saudi Arabia and Syria in addition to overthrowing Nasser. Young even asked for American help in overthrowing the Saudi king, whose oil was exported in partnership with American interests set in place by CIA Director Allen Dulles when he was the State Department’s man in the Middle East.[iv]
The CIA warned the British that King Saud “was an American puppet and not to be touched.” The British backed off, but they had revealed intentions contrary to American interests. Filled with distrust, Eisenhower sided with the Soviets in their support for Egypt. This came as a rude shock to the French and British. Of course, Nasser thought the Americans had shown contemptible weakness by failing to support the British and French. Soon thereafter, Nasser dropped all liberal pretenses by abolishing civil liberties in Egypt. He began a crackdown against Egyptian Jews, arresting more than a thousand while seizing five hundred Jewish businesses.
Nasser was more determined than ever to build up his military for a future war against Israel. Moscow not only armed Egypt and Syria; they trained the Arab armies while planting spies and infiltrators in the process. Moscow had good reason to think the Arabs would win a future war against Israel and they believed their infiltration of Egypt and Syria would give them effective control over the Arab World. But as Ira Hirschmann pointed out: “you cannot buy an Arab, you can only rent him.” Worse yet, Moscow’s rented Arab friends were bunglers. In 1967 a Syrian military newspaper attacked Islam and the prophet Mohamed, destabilizing the regime. Moscow became frightened that Syria would suffer a popular revolution and/or an Israeli invasion. Soviet Foreign Minister Andrei Gromyko went to Egypt to suggest an Egyptian mobilization into the Sinai to keep the Israelis from exploiting Syrian weakness. But don’t start a war, warned Gromyko.
A terrible comedy then unfolded. Nasser’s became overconfident from all the praise he was receiving in the Arab world. On May 24, 1967, he could not resist blockading the Straits of Tiran at the entrance of the Gulf of Aqaba. Nasser had taken things too far. The Israelis regarded the blockade as an act of war. Knowing that Egypt and Syria were not ready for war, the Soviet Union urged Israel to negotiate with Nasser using Moscow’s envoys as intermediaries. But the Israeli’s were angered by Arab attacks on Israeli civilians. They were angered at the blockade. Consequently, they were not interested in negotiating. They launched a surprise attack against their Arab neighbors, defeating them in six days. Israel took the Golan Heights from Syria, the West Bank from Jordan, and the Sinai from Egypt. Israel won a crushing victory while the Soviet Union was embarrassed by Nasser’s strategic incompetence.
Despite all of this, Russia not only failed to help Egypt to conquer Israel, but also failed to conquer Egypt from within. Here we get a taste for the kind of mistakes Moscow tends to make. An opportunist approach to acquiring allies is not always best. The failure of Soviet-sponsored Arab armies in 1967 runs parallel to the failed communist military offensives in Vietnam, in 1968 and 1973. Reflecting on these military defeats we may better understand Moscow’s present-day military failures in Ukraine.
Taking all this into account, the Russians have a virtue the West may lack; that is, persistence. After the defeat of the Arab armies in 1967 the Soviets went back to the drawing board. They opted for a great Arab offensive. In this next offensive, known to us as the Yom Kippur War of Octrober 1973, Russia would successfully bring Arab oil into play as a weapon against the West and Israel. Here we see an ongoing interplay between the Arab-Israeli conflict and Western oil dependence. Of course, the West managed to improve its position in the Middle East because of Egyptian President Anwar Sadat’s desire for peace. From this we see that the United States benefits from peace while Moscow gains entry into a region through war (using a “divide-and-conquer” strategy).
Today the Russians and their Chinese allies have drawn Saudi Arabia into their BRICS Alliance. Together with their oil-rich Venezuelan ally, they are poised for another oil embargo. What Moscow needs is another war in the Middle East. This time Iran rather than Egypt is the country that cries out for Israeli blood. One might ask, in this context, what the death of Iran’s president in a helicopter portends.

Yes, and I discovered that even with a LOT of rational and spiritual argument and data, many of the “Khazarian-Mafia theorists” among conservatives either a) didn’t read the article or b) were not convinced. It seems that the power of narratives and disinformation can infect both conservatives and leftists. I quoted Yuri Andropov describing exactly that.
Perhaps the reality is that those who simply swallow the narratives *want* to believe them. It’s very strange. The search for truth should be eagerly joined by all, but it has not yet happened.
This quote is especially relevant, I think, from the 1956 book “The Rape of the Mind: The Psychology of Thought Control, Menticide, and Brainwashing,” by the Dutch/American psychoanalyst Joost Meerloo. In the chapter “Mental Contagion and Mass Delusion,” he wrote:

Peter: Yes. I think there are people who do not apply themselves to history or thinking, or to philosophy. They have poor reasoning abilities, and when they come into contact with antisemitism they embrace it because it’s so simple. You don’t have to know anything. I just saw one of Hitler’s speeches translated into English, and it was posted by someone who clearly thought it was a lovely speech, blaming the Jews for all the bad in the world. We really are seeing an uptick in this kind of thing.

In many conversations I have had among fellow veterans, we refer to civilians with no military service, as “normies.” By default, that makes us “abnormies.”
It’s like the college students who literally couldn’t identify a photo of Stalin. Oy! I think everyone who is NOT anti-Semitic needs to speak out, vigorously, about why Judaism is a religion of peace (unlike Islam) and why it’s so deeply wrong to be anti-Jewish.

I think that most of the humans prefer a believable lie than the truth because the truth is most of the time hard and complex. The truth forces you to re build your way of thinking and so , your way of living. When you try to explain something a bit difficult or with several levels, people don’t listen to you. Humanity has become lazzy and stupid.
I agree, Christine. Horrendously poor education combined with cellphone/tic toc/etc addictions, reduced time reading (if at all) has produced a generation or more that almost “knows nothing.” Ripe for the picking by communist totalitarians.
That’s why the conservative side has to step up and change things before it’s too late.

There are obviously options the Kremlin has considered and values them as very useful – among which is to orchestrate either civil war or communist revolution inside the US and or to allow Trump to become president and then maneuver him through KGB assets (advisors) into declaring Marshall Law and staging a political payback against his persecutors – BUT this would never be called anti-communist act of justice…and in some aspect it could be possible that such a move against the obvious communist traitors in control of the Democrat and in some aspect the Republican Parties would be replaced and or sidelined by such serious charges and arrests, and subsequently tribunal proceedings.
But the main point is that these options are very hard to determine, because then on top of them there is the KGB-GRU (CCP) run “Islamic terrorism” with its puppet states as the communist subverted Syria and Iran etc., and that such pretended Islamic religious resistance to the hated “Zionists” (American and Israelis) would be already welcomed by the brainwashed American leftist populations, to the extent that such useful idiots would be willing to fight on the wrong side, cause acts of terrorism and sabotage in the name of the communist revolution and so on.
What Gen. Sejna wrote in his book We will bury you is of great importance because the isolationism of the western countries instead of genuine sincere anti-communist unity was always sought by the Kremlin, this in order to divide and conquer strategy, captivating the minds of the young into believing that liberty of conscience is a cliche and that the only path to “progress” is cemented by the strategy the communist ideology promises, which is the biggest lie of them all – the dictatorship of the proletariat…(this ideological communist lie is so widespread among these deceived or brainwashed atheistic imbeciles, and they truly don’t grasp their own unhappy ends in some of the Siberian Gulag camps when their services are no longer required by the Kremlin KGB Mafia).
The KGB defector Bezmenev concluded this point very aptly when he summed up that such useful idiots are being lied to by their communist superiors, to obtain their unwavering services and at the same time maintaining the necessary Party discipline over those who would not be punctual in it, including elimination (murder) when the guilty conscience halts the results the communists command to be achieved.
In regards to the KGB use of Arab nations as the military and terrorism tool, there should be a careful consideration made that when there were setbacks the KGB-GRU have realized that serious changes must be made and more active infiltration and subversion of these Islamic circles accomplished in order make sure that there are no more serious setbacks at all in the future – which is the actual situation today.
The danger of these points of KGB strategy of worldwide communist takeover is very real and getting more and more serious as the time progresses, and their preparations are visible, they don’t even need to hide them and in many aspects they are using them as the tool of psychological warfare against the hated capitalists, to infest them with disunity, conspiracy theories, communist deception and false promises, and most importantly to use the KGB run controlled opposition to hamper any substantial counter-measures so that the communist revolution (or civil war) is successful and the victory of communism achieved…and at the end they will learn from God that it will never be so at all – the hard way (and subsequently forever in Hell).
One more thing to add – Russia running tactical nuclear warfare drills near the Ukraine border is probably part of this above mentioned strategy, to make certain that the pre-positioned communist troops are getting ready for their marching orders or battle readiness. Then what follows is the sabotage and terrorism orders, which deception is furthered by the involvement of Iran against Israel, and Hamas as well (which started last year already), so that the main ally of Israel the US, when it is attacked, will be pre-positioned to think that it is all based on Islamic terrorism and not on carefully planned KGB and CCP run communist attack strategy.

Italy and Germany are the most infiltrated by the KGB in the West. When Alexander Litvinenko was preparing to defect from Russia his friends in the FSB warned him to stay away from Italy and Germany.
The center of all western KGB operations was London, UK, Soviet Embassy…so do not discount the perverted British, they have had their share of communist infiltration and subversion.

Dear Jeff, I have to touch the subject of the Israeli/ “Palestinian” war again because it is both puzzling and tormenting me at the same time. What do you make of the deafening silence of the so called “Western” leaders, prominent political figures and army of journos about the obvious (for anyone with, at least two functioning grey cells) link between Putin’s birthday and the terrorist attack on Israel, both on 7th October?
Why, for example, is Netanyahu silent about this? After all, the formal acknowledgment of that fact changes fundamentally the entire narrative about that war and crushes the leftist lies that the Hamas’ action could be, somehow, regarded as a desperate uprising of the freedom and independence craving Palestinians. Is Netanyahu and other leaders too, atavistically ignorant about that link, did Mossad fail to tell him that or is he driven by an equally atavistic fear of angering Putin?
The entire affair is so grotesque that I have to use an equally grotesque terminology to describe it precisely.
Acknowledgment of this fact is also extremely important for Netanyahu himself as well especially in the light of the irrational behavior of the so called “International Criminal Court”. Originally, its members indicted Netanyahu only and, allegedly, after the intervention of Amal Cloney, the wife of the actor George Cloney, they decided to indict the Hamas’ leaders as well, which stinks with hypocrisy especially when they failed to intervene, act and indict the leaders of Hamas immediately after the terrorist act.
This is, certainly, the rabid travesty of the “international” justice.

I am in the middle of the second Anti-Communist conference. It’s really good. I was fascinated by Alex’s story about Tatiana the Russian princess exiled to Germany who believes Putin will bring back the “old Russia.”
I have heard it reported many times that Russia is NOT a Christian country. Last week, I was speaking with Trevor and he said only 1.6 million Russians attended church services last December. Can you direct me to a good source for that? Is there a good source also that would give me facts to back up the KGB infiltration of the Russian Orthodox Church? Anything to back up the decline of Christianity in Russia? I know it’s obvious that under the USSR the government was indoctrinating for 75 years atheistic beliefs, but I just wondered what material is out there that could help me. I want to put this lie that Russia is a Christian nation to rest for my own piece of mind. It seems if the evidence was overwhelming, the Christina Russian-loving conservatives would have to rethink their position on the Ukrainian war.

The higher clergy in the Russian Orthodox Church are known for serving the communist secret police. Also, Konstantin Preobrazhenskiy wrote a book about the church as an espionage front world war de.
Russia built many churches, because it is a good franchise for making money. Church is a business in Russia. People pay for candles, for baptisms, weddings. As a church you can also sell goods (like vodka) without any taxes. It is a money making machine.
I spoke with a Russian Orthodox Bishop about 10 years ago and he told me that less than 10% of the Russian population was churched. He also told me that the ROC in Russia is corrupt, with the Church being little more than a tool for control, as it has been for many years. Putin’s regime also persecutes any Christians that are not Russian Orthodox. Many have been arrested, tortured and killed. Putin’s thugs are doing the same in the occupied territories in Ukraine.
The ROC Prelate was also KGB, and was well known to the Swiss Federal Police while he was stationed there with the World Council of Churches. A goodly number of the ROC Clergy were KGB agents during the cold war.

Good, very good question – it comes to their communist fanaticism, they are so eager to crush their enemies that they will not stop until that is done and all their means, to them, are justified, including their extensive use of nuclear weapons.
But as long as they can use their main weapon, which is subversion and infiltration, they will most likely not resort to nuclear warfare, except perhaps as nuclear blackmail, for which case Ukraine, as the victim of Russia’s active nuclear warfare, is likely to become the prime target, and in case of China – Taiwan.
Also, not all communist (KGB Kremlin Mafia) strategic moves are known to the “locals” and so the center reserves the decision and overall strategy in secret so that when or if there is possibility of the local communist assets backing off (which they know would result in them being exterminated alongside their whole families etc.), but when it could involve the danger of these local assets nearly miraculous acquisition of conscience (which is very rare occurrence in case of these atheistic communist criminals), then Moscow wouldn’t welcome any setbacks in their overall operations because then the whole scheme might be destroyed by such guilty conscience of these local communist assets…and so that’s why the real threat of nuclear warfare (and do NOT forget biological-chemical warfare), is necessary, so long as the victory of communism is not yet achieved.

To me, if I can persuade someone that Putin is lying about his faith and the resurrection of Russian Orthodoxy, maybe they will be open to understanding that the Ukrainians already have seen the emperor has no clothes and are fighting to defend and protect their country.
There is much MUCH more to this point about the KGB run “Russian Orthodox Church”.
1) they have been in schism and thus severed from the Catholic church from the 11th century (eleventh – this is not a typo).
2) If there was any conversion of the KGB criminal Putin and the whole Mafia, then they would know that they would have to face justice for their tyranny and crimes, they would have to give up their stolen political power, they would have to submit to the Authority of the Church (which these communists will never do), and they would have to fully repent and make full reparation for all they have done, including returning the millions of Rubles they have stolen from people, which goes all the way back to 1917 – and that makes it even more impossible as such – but the rule is unchangeable.
3) God will not help them as they are his enemies and so all they claim is one big lie and nothing else. This relates to the conflict in Ukraine, which is mirrored by the former Indochina conflict. Lane noted that in the Vietnam War the British “raised the spectre of war with Communsit China….” Our strategists took fright at this idea and adjusted their use of force to accomodate the communsits. “If you begin with an assumption that any resistance to North Vietnamese aggression will bring Chinese intervention, you are already defeated,” he explained.
If we begin with the assumption that any resistance to Russia in Ukraine will result in World War III, then we are already defeated. Fear of a larger war, in the event of resistance to communist bloc aggression, is idle and irresponsible. They will attack us here in the United States when they are sufficiently emboldened. Passivity and non-resistance is what emboldens them.
Failing to resist Russia in Ukraine will bring bombs down on New York and Chicago. Appeasement did not work against Hitler, and it will not work against the communists. They will feed off the fruits of appeasement, and they will become stronger. This is what they have done, and they now are stronger than us in nuclear weapons. If our ammunition stocks are low, they might even be able to overpower us conventionally.
Our open border is testimony to the success of communist subversion in Washington. But who notices?

I have a personal friend who went undercover as a volunteer to help transport these refugees coming into the country daily, many under cover of darkness via airlines in the wee hours of the night. There they were loaded on vans or busses and taken to many rural, remote towns to be dropped off and “resettled”. Often times no one in these towns knowing of this except the local mayor(s) who were compensated accordingly I’m sure (unofficially).
These folks are then assisted and signed up on every government assistance program imaginable, welfare, WIC, you name it. Go to work at the local chicken plant (Noel, MO) or slaughterhouse (Garden City, KS) just to name a few.
We are being silently invaded and most Americans are unaware…all the while they take their kids to local ball games and stuff their faces with hot dogs and drink beer at a professional baseball game or go to church every Sunday totally oblivious….some day…some day…very soon their eyes will become wide open at the events that will unfold, small town and big Cities alike.

The defector Anatoliy Golitsyn, and the defector Jan Sejna, provided the clues. I just had to read those clues. No one else would do it, or would say something. America was being deceived and weakened, with Russia and China strengthened. And now we are saddled with fools like Biden and Scholz and Macron leading the West. Anti-Semitism is extremely useful for distracting and pointing at the wrong direction and seems to have already become a fetish. The propaganda machine managed to make Ukraine, that historically is very anti-semitic (maybe more even than Russia) and supported national-socialists in 1941, a country controlled by jews. I only know one european national-socialist that interpreted the war as a violation against ukrainian nationalism and noticed the use of the “Nazi” word by the Kremlin regime. In general, national-socialists enthusiasts are extremely dumb and flock to support the neocommunist bloc.

Just wanted to make a quick comment that this Saturday, June 8, marks the 67th anniversary of the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty on June 8, 1967. It was a spy ship positioned off shore of the Sinai Peninsula in international waters observing the Egyptian-Israeli conflict. I have a special edition of the Assault on the USS Liberty by James M. Ennes who was the EO on the ship.
My parents were friends of his. For those who don’t remember, the attack lasted two hours and killed 34 Americans and wounded 171 others, including the ship’s Captain. When they surveyed the vessel, they discovered 831 rocket and machine gun holes. Details about this attack were hushed up and instructions were given from the highest officials in our government to other US vessels in the area NOT to render aid until the Israelis finally called off the attack.
My edition contains a color photograph pasted into the book by the author with a note to my mom. Mr. Ennes, wrote, “Dear L–, This is the shot described on p. 118. It is probably the only photograph ever taken of a Navy captain actually in the act of winning a Medal of Honor. The man who took it is still on active duty and was commissioned an ensign in mid-1980 from Chief Cryptologic Technician. He remains convinced that he will never get another promotion if he cooperates with my book in any way, and will not give me permission to use this picture–even though I invited him to seek official permission from the Navy.

The picture shows the captain of the ship after he was injured. Ennes writes about Capt. McGonagle, “He sat stubbornly in the chair, a paper cup in his right hand, drinking black coffee. His khaki trouser leg had been torn away above the right knee to reveal the abuse it had suffered.”

I mention this because 1. Everyone should know about the Assault on the Liberty 2. The book is a courageous example of someone standing up for truth. As I recall McNamara was behind the cover up claiming the Israelis did not know it was an American vessel. 3. Everyday people can make a difference. I wanted to draw your attention to the fact that Orthodox church in Russia is a very profitable business. They are making money on selling candles, icons, religious jewelry, ordinances, like baptism, christening, marriages and funerals. They are also completely tax exempt, and sometimes they can have a side business, which can be very profitable without taxes. So you can look into this motivation behind building churches in Russia as well.

If fabricated, the letter would suggest to the unsophisticated mind that all information containing charges against Borah were false and were the handiwork of the Russians.”
This also reminds me of the 1987 article in the LaRouchite paper, article entitled “Elephants and Donkeys,” where it states that the Soviets preferred two candidates for the 1988 presidency: Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

Jeff, I am currently reading the book Kennedy’s Wars, by Lawrence Freedman.
Freedman certainly has no awareness if what Golitstn revealed, and thus almost everything he says about Khruschev’s and the Soviets’ motivation is delusional.
But, I think his insight into the thought processes and reasoning of Kennedy and his advisors is valuable.
They were clearly overall weak, confused men, full of all kinds of bullcrap theories, and more concerned about appearances of boldness and strength than actual substance.
I’ve been reading and watching stuff about Kennedy, Eisenhower, Johnson, Nixon here and there as I get time.
I’ve always wondered if a man like Calvin Coolidge or Theodore Roosevelt would have been staunch opponents of Communism. I think they would have.
I know Coolidge was president during the NEP. I know the Bolsheviks were still in their infancy and consolidating power during this time. Did Coolidge ever speak or act in any way with decision against them that you are aware of? He seems like he was a very shrewd, organized, and decisive man.
Coolidge was pretty shrewd, actually. But America is an insular place. We have not generally cultivated deep knowledge of alien places.
He decisively and wisely handled the Boston Police Strike and ensuing lawlessness when he was governor of Massachusetts. Also, handled the Teapot Dome Scandal in a decisive, wise, and not rash manner.
I think he would have ably handled all the Marxist backed and led riots in the summer of 2020.
He was a law and order guy.
