Trump’s Inauguration speech – Peace in Ukraine – Canada Unifying Against Trump – interview with Prof. Valentina Zharkova on Global Cooling – 10th International Anticommunist Conference – Johnny, Jimmy & Jeff on strengthening the West – note to readers on screening of reader comments

Trump’s Bold Speech

In his inauguration address last Monday, Trump spoke of the incompetence of government at all levels. He mentioned the devastating fires in California which have left many people homeless. He spoke of giving people back their wealth, health, and democracy. “From this moment America’s decline is over,” he said. “The journey to reverse the decline of our country has not been an easy one.” Trump spoke of surviving an assassination attempt. “I was saved by God to make America great again.” Trump also remarked on the government’s attempts to jail him, vowing to curtail the politicization of the justice system.

Underscoring national unity, Trump said, “We will move with purpose and speed to bring back hope … to citizens of every race, religion, color and creed….” He talked of the support he received in the election from minority groups. He said, “National unity is now returning to America…. My administration will be inspired by a striving for excellence … and we will not forget our God.” He vowed to send troops to stop the “invasion of our country.” He also vowed to designate drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

Trump spoke of reviving the notorious Alien Act of 1798 to combat the illegal alien invasion. Trump also spoke of a renewal of freedom. Ideology would not be an issue. Race would be unimportant: “We will forge a society that is color blind and merit based.” He added, “… there are only two genders, male and female.” Trump said he would reinstate those booted from the military for refusing the experimental COVID vaccines with full back pay – to fill the ranks of our depleted and demoralized military.

“We will build the strongest military ever seen,” Trump vowed. “My proudest legacy will be as a peacemaker and a unifier.” He vowed to return the name of our tallest mountain to that of William McKinley. He paid respect to McKinley, who was famous for his tariffs. He then spoke of the unfair treatment of American ships at the Panama Canal. He noted that China now operates the Canal, which is unacceptable. “We are taking it back,” he said, noting that we did not give the canal to Panama so that Panama could give the canal to China. [Editor’s note: Moscow has since warned America against taking back the Panama Canal.]

Surprisingly, Trump committed to planting the American flag on Mars. This created a storm of applause. Trump spoke of America’s pioneering spirit, courage, and dedication to freedom and prosperity. “I stand before you as proof that nothing is impossible. In America the impossible is what we do best,” he said. “We are one people, one family, one glorious nation under God.”

Trump’s speech was inspiring. No President entering office has made such grand promises. At the same time, America has never faced such a powerful combination of enemies.

Peace in Ukraine?

Trump has promised to bring peace to Eastern Europe. The assumption is, of course, that peace is always better than war. If that were true, then America’s Founders were wrong to sign the Declaration of Independence which was, in effect, a declaration of war on King George. If peace is always better than war, then we should have rushed to make peace with Hitler in 1942; and we should have surrendered South Korea in 1950.

When an aggressor forces war on a nation, that nation has a choice. Fight or surrender. Fighting is honorable and preserves liberty. With regimes like those in Moscow and Beijing, surrender leads to slavery or even genocide. According to the testimony of KGB and GRU defectors like Anatoliy Golitsyn and Stanislav Lunev, Russia and China seek to destroy the United States of America. They want to occupy our continent and divide the land between them. The ruling power in America has ignored the testimony of these defectors.

As Russia and China are determined to destroy the United States, the U.S. must back Ukraine. The Ukrainians not only oppose Moscow; Ukraine also shields NATO from overland Russian attack. If Russia cannot retake Ukraine, Russia cannot effectively threaten NATO or the United States. There is also the question of shared values. The Ukrainians are fighting for their liberty. This puts them squarely in the Western camp. Even as America has fallen behind Russia and China in advanced strategic weapons, the emergence of an independent Ukraine has prevented Russia and China from fully exploiting their strategic superiority against the United States. The Chinese, in fact, cannot threaten the United States without Russian help. The Russians, pinned down in Ukraine, do not dare widen a war they are already losing. Here we discover, contrary to the prevailing disinformation, that Ukraine is the key to America’s future security.

Besides the raw calculus of advantage, there is a moral and philosophical side to the question. Readers are directed to the words of Professor Mychailo Wynnyckyj, taken from his book on the Euromaidan Revolution, where he recalls a night in December 2013. “I would ride the long escalator down into Independence Square metro station,” Wynnyckyj wrote, “and I would observe [the barricades]. One evening, as I waited for the train, a group of young ladies (in their mid-20’s) descended the escalator singing Ukraine’s national anthem. Within seconds several hundred people who had been waiting quietly on the underground platform stood at attention and sang.” Wynnyckyj continued, “I stopped observing. I sang too. And then I cried tears of joy…. This was Kyiv! No one ever sang the national anthem spontaneously here! That night, I addressed my Ukrainian Diaspora friends through Facebook with the following message:”

“Please be patient! Ukraine is in the midst of a very real and very significant social revolution. This revolution for many Ukrainians involves a new conceptualization of their values and identities. This is a painful process that needs to occur through collective action, introspection, and without external intervention.”[i]

Americans do not realize how much they have in common with Ukrainians. Many think Putin is a Christian and Ukraine is an evil country. This is a seriously mistaken view. There has been, quite obviously, a massive Russian disinformation campaign aimed at persuading American conservatives to ditch Ukraine. Russia’s vast agent networks, mafias, and hidden financial structures are exerting pressure, pushing false narratives of peace and reconciliation. Today we hear Russia’s voice filtered through right-of-center podcasters and pundits. “War is the greatest evil,” they say. “We need Putin as an ally against China,” they titter. “Those who oppose Russia are warmongers,” they accuse.

“From the dawn of civilization onward,” wrote Gustave Le Bon, crowds always have undergone the influence of illusions.”[ii] In respect of this, the Russians have been masters of illusion. They export their sweet poison, dispatched through various false fronts, and the West sucks it up. For decades the left embraced the Russian lies. Today the right also embraces those lies. If Americans could only understand what the Kremlin wants. If they only knew how dangerous it would be for Russia to get what it wants.

Consider Boris Yeltsin’s words to President Clinton at their last face-to-face meeting in Istanbul in December 1999. “I ask you one thing,” said Yeltsin to Clinton. “Just give Europe to Russia. The U.S. is not Europe. Europe should be the business of Europeans.”[iii]

Nothing has changed in the Kremlin since Stalin. “Give Europe to Russia” has been the refrain for many decades. Even Yeltsin said it. This is why Putin has invaded Ukraine (as a stepping-stone to Europe). Even Gorbachev spoke of the “one common European home.” Furthermore, we must not imagine that peace can be secured by feeding the Russian crocodile one country at a time, or by befriending the crocodile. When his stomach is empty, he will feed again.

And now a summit is being scheduled between Putin and Trump. What will the respective negotiating positions be? According to my sources the war in Ukraine will end within 120 days. One source claims that the blueprint for peace has six key elements: (1) Ukraine agrees never to join NATO; (2) Crimea remains Russian territory; (3) Donbas will become a semi-independent state that can vote in Ukrainian national elections (while remaining under Russian occupation); (4) There will be new elections in Ukraine with votes coming from Russian-controlled areas; (5) The current Ukrainian government must go into exile prior to the elections; (6) All sanctions against Russia are removed.

Would President Trump agree to all this? Several days ago, Trump advisor Erik Prince made some disturbing statements during an interview with Breitbart News.[iv] Prince said that the war in Ukraine was a “very unnecessary slaughter that’s gone on for multiple years now….”[v] Prince added, “There is no possibility that it’s going to end in some armistice moment of Ukrainian victory….” Besides, said Prince, by supporting Ukraine we have pushed Russia into China’s arms. Given that Trump was elected “to pursue the strategic interests of the United States” it is imperative that America make Russia into an ally. The assumption here is that Russia would rather be subservient to the United States than China. In advancing a policy of appeasement toward Russia, Prince is forgetting that the Kremlin has no problem telling the Americans what they want to hear. All the better to fool Washington and continue to prepare for the conquest of Alaska in league with China.

Canada Turning Against America?

While a policy of splitting Russia from China is doubtful, Trump has begun to split Canada from the United States. What could be more damaging to our security? Trump has talked of annexing Canada, and the Canadians are not treating it as a joke. This rhetoric has united all political parties in Canada against the United States. A Canadian strategist told me, “Trump is uniting Canada in opposition to him as I would have never believed. It has been a firestorm here. There is rising hatred of the United States. There is talk of aligning with China. This is a crazy turn of events.”

Those who think Trump is a political magician need to think again. It is good to be flexible, and to get mileage from outrageous statements, but sometimes an outrageous statement can blow you up. Canadians, as well as Americans, are politically and philosophically disoriented. In fact, they are ready to forget strategic realities and adopt insane policies – or make insane assertions. Please keep this in mind: You can destroy an alliance with words. And it does not take very many words.

“Canada is more united than ever against the United States,” a Canadian friend told me. “Today we had a provincial premier announce an election in Ontario, the biggest province, and the main reason he is doing this is to get a mandate for battling Trump. The premier says Trump is going to destroy this country and destroy our families and destroy our communities, etc., etc. And this premier is a conservative, so we’ve got a real problem here.”

In some respects, Trump is brilliant. In other respects, he can blunder. In this instance he must backtrack and mend fences.

[v] Of course, if you are a Ukrainian patriot, fighting for your freedom, the war is hardly viewed as “unnecessary.” After all, this war was forced on Ukraine by Moscow’s 2022 invasion. For an American – far away in a safe country – to call this war “unnecessary,” is insulting to Ukrainians. It is like saying Ukraine is an unnecessary country, or that Ukrainian freedom does not matter.

Time to end the Ukraine war. Russia does not have the massive military needed to attack Europe. They do have thousands of nukes and many more tactical nukes than America.
Europeans are suffering much much more than Americans with high fuel, high heating prices due to destroyed pipelines and no access to Russian fuel.
It’s dumb to try to supply Europe with American nat gas with a darn ocean between us.
Weak, dumb president Biden caused the war by cheating his way into office. He may not even know of the cheating. Russia waited till Trump was out.
What do we gain with a longer war? To replace our weapons the costs will be astronomical. Those old weapons were made when wages were much lower.
We must concentrate on new types of warfare. More small cheap drones and cheap ways to shoot down drones.
It’s possible we will have a war over the Panama Canal. Should we just let China have it and continue to establish a huge presence in S. America?
Like Trump said the deal was Panama ran it not China.
We also must have more ways to stop hypersonic missiles. It’s possible much of the Southeast including DC could be hit from Cuba or Russian ships near Venezuela. We have very limited chance of stopping them.
Maybe we could get lucky and establish an alliance with Russia over China? Russia must know that someday China will go after Russia.

If you make an alliance with Russia, you’ll repeat History again like Daladier and Chamberlain with Hitler about the” accords de Munich”. And Czekoslavakia had been riped into pieces.
Never trust a communist, specially if he pretends to be your friend. He Will eat you , as said Jeff precedently, ” communism is cannabilism”.1

    3. I don’t understand, Chad. You seem to believe Russia and China are not on the same team. You are also wrong in thinking Europe cannot be supplied by natural gas from America. Your idea of an alliance with Russia is exactly the one thing we must not attempt because the Russians will deceive us and work with the Chinese to destroy us while they pretend to be on our friend. We must not be so stupid. The Chinese already did this to us. And we built them up as a counter to Russia. Totalitarian states always prefer each other, in the long run, over free countries. Besides this, Russia is working with global communism to destroy us. They are not going to change their commitments. They have always just hid them.

    4. @Chad Davis: playing the Russia card against China is based on the same flawed logic back from the Nixon through the George HW Bush administrations. China and Russia are more aligned than divided. My essay on the Sino-Soviet split and post-Cold War Russian-Chinese relations covers this. 1. Question for you Nevin. What is your take on the current Trump administration regarding Ukraine? Any thoughts regarding Tulsi Gabbard as the appointee over all our intelligence agencies?

        1. I think we have to wait and see how events unfold. As we saw with the first Trump Administration, American policy towards Russia and China are highly inconsistent, which is reflective of differing camps (internationalists, business, the left, etc.). I think we also have to watch whether some of Trump’s more controversial nominees are approved by the Congress. My eyes are on Tulsi Gabbard. If she is confirmed, expect a major fight between Ratcliffe/Hegseth/Waltz/Rubio versus Tulsi, Elbridge Colby, Stephen Bannon, and the more anti-Ukraine camp within MAGA.

I think Navarro (who is awesome) and Bessant (who is a trade hawk-but bad on other issues re: financial policy) will be on our side of the issue. I’m glad to see that Trump has “exiled” Elon Musk to an office in the Eisenhower Office Building rather than sitting in the West Wing. Also, another piece of wonderful news: the Trump Administration is looking to appoint Kyle Bass to a high level position at Treasury.

Various factions within the Russian leadership have been sending mixed signals on the US under Trump. They are realizing that Trump is not going to necessarily write a big blank check for all Russian actions. Moscow is deploying a combination of flattery and insults towards the US. Good cop, bad cop.

Trump’s Administration and the GOP is dominated by big business including Wall Street and they’ll undermine and manipulate Trump on China (again) and to lift sanctions on Russia. As Laura stated, I am deeply concerned about the optics of Trump’s antics regarding Greenland, Panama, and Canada. This will embolden China and Russia, who will exploit the resentments of the “Ugly American” to their advantages. Naturally, Moscow and Beijing certainly will not drop their “ugly” side. They are smoother and cleverer than the often short sighted American mentality. Winning hearts and minds seems to be lacking in American policy these days. It’s a huge mistake.

It is certainly a positive sign that Trump’s 90 day halt on all foreign aid has exempted Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine. This may be the result of the influence of Rubio and company. The Administration recognizes that these are pressure points where American influence is most challenged. Trump is using the carrot and stick approach regarding negotiations over Ukraine. I get that strategy. However, I caution that the Russian government (influenced heavily by the culture of deception and provocations) will not adhere to any agreements. Look at their track record with arms control negotiations from the 1970s onwards.

Apparently the sanctions are doing the truck as Russian trade with CIS and Chins is the main vector for underming the limp wristed sanctions. A sanction on Russia while trading with China is a joke. Half measures. Failure to know the enemy. The fool and his enemy. I’ve got no hope the West can turn the screws on the Reds.

            Are not doing the trick.

          3. I have read that if indeed Gabbard is confirmed, she will find herself “on the outside looking in” among most of these agencies who will report to her…these folks, the good guys anyway, know she is not qualified, much less up for the task regarding our national security interests.

IMO she’s a Russian asset, deceiving a lot of folks politically nowadays. After her political past as a Democrat, of being promoted by pro Communist individuals, supported by Marxist organizations, who gave her her political start, she’s not to be trusted today.

          4. I have always had grave reservations about Tulsi. What I want to know is how it came about that she was offered a position at the top of the American intelligence system — over all agencies. It was, I suspect, the mentality that sees our own agencies as the enemy. How ironic indeed if that is so. The psychopathology of our politics is here in a nutshell.

          5. Agreed. I’ve followed her political stances for a while. Why all of a sudden should we believe she’s “seen the light and has changed”?
Now she’s conservative? Libertarian? I think not. The Trump administration has egg on their face with this pick. I hope the likes of Senator Tom Cotton and others put enough pressure on her with her past that she simply steps away from consideration. She’s a real threat to Americans safety.

Chad, the Soviets do have the military might to attack Europe, if they break out their nukes and use them. The only reason I see that they haven’t done so so far is that they would have to attack the U.S. at the same time. The question remains, do they have enough to secure victory?

As for China, yes they want Siberia and maybe all of Russia, but can they take it? Their technology is even behind Soviet tech, and their population is significantly smaller than they claim. (I remember seeing empty buildings when I visited years ago.) Their population was already shrinking then, and has shrunk more since I was there.

  4. Speaking to your conversation with Johnny and Jimmy, specifically the California fires (going on now) and global warming, I had to go back and revisit how the environment was “weaponized” against the West, specifically the United States, decades ago by the Communists, ie, Gorbachev. And it continues today.
I reread (Soviet disinformation expert) Natalie Grant Wraga’s 1998 article “Green Cross: Gorbachev and Enviro-Communism”. The great deception using climate to cripple the United States.
“Protection of the environment may be used as a pretext to adopt a series of measures designed to undermine the industrial base of developed nations. It may also serve to introduce malaise by lowering their standard of living and implanting communist “values”

Sadly, most Americans know nothing of the history of this particular movement and that they have indeed been duped AND personally affected in one way or another, whether it’s their own children being indoctrinated with communist “values” in the public schools and universities here, the increasing number of smog control gadgets, regulations via our own vehicles today, the slowly growing popularity and attitude towards “green” energy, electric cars, local and state policies that stop advancement for traditional energy sources because some small minnow inhabits a stream or tributary of a river, as well as the growing hate directed at the oil companies and fossil fuels, coal mining, etc.

    1. A very serious case of being duped.

Hi Jeff, I tried commenting the old way, but I don’t think it went through. So, I am trying again.

First, this was the best AntiCommunist conference of the 10. All of you were articulate and focused. Where there was disagreement, the rebuttals were excellent insights.

I especially liked your concluding comments about divine providence. Your realization that God’s plan to lead Joan of Arc to unite the French to defeat the English was necessary so that France could help Americans win independence amazed me.

I, too, have read Twain’s book on Joan of Arc and loved it. It’s not bad for an atheist, right? You know he said himself it was the book he was most proud of and spent the most time researching.

There is another book by Isaac Asimov titled The Kite that Won the American Revolution. It’s about how Ben Franklin won the hearts of the French aristocracy and people for his invention of the lightning rod. Because of his popularity in France, the king was politically trapped into supporting the Americans.

    On the grand solar minimum.
I loved the slides, but you need to write about this. The Russian lady is hard to understand.

There is another American scientist named Dr. Willie Soon. His website is http://www.ceres-science.com. He, too, believes we are headed for a grand solar minimum. I know him and heard him speak. He’s hard to understand, too, but maybe your readers will find this helpful.

Remember New Hampshire ‘s state motto: Live free or die.

    1. Funny that I was in New Hampshire last week. Yes, Dr. Zharkova’s slides were sometimes hard to follow. The key takeaway is the heartbeat of the Sun, its regularity, and the wave cancellation phenomenon, which shows we are indeed headed into a grand solar minimum with very serious economic and political consequences. It is shocking and shameful that our political leaders are not into this.

Hello, I’m from Brazil and I discovered your work through Professor Olavo de Carvalho, sorry for my bad English, I’m using Google Translate.

Here in Brazil, the right is becoming pro-Russian, they have a positive view of Victor Oraban and Russia, unfortunately.
Is Victor Orban a fake? a Russian puppet? to fool conservatives?

What is your opinion about Ion Antonescu, was he well intentioned? What did the Russian archives and spies say about him? please answer me thank you.

    1. Antonio: good questions. I believe Victor Orban is a communist-train fake nationalist working with the Kremlin. This may seem to be a harsh view, but there are too many signs that he is helping Moscow. It is strange you should ask about Marshal Ion Antonescu. He was Romania’s military and political leader through much of World War II. He was allied to Hitler. He was executed for crimes, especially against Jews, in 1946. Was he well-intentioned? Does it matter? His political and philosophical views were limited and retrograde. He misunderstood the world.

      1. Dear Jeff, a statement made in respect to neo-Bolshevik aggression of Ukraine by Hungarian Defense Minister, Kristof Szalay Bobrovniczky (it was a year ago, if I remember well) illustrates a confusion reigning in Orban’s government.
Bpbrovniczky said: “… as in September 1939, present Zelenski regime’s unwillingness to negotiate a compromise is leading us towards the WW3.
Obviously, Bobrovniczky referred to Poland’s refusal to allow the Nazi Germany to “build” the so-called corridor through Poland which would effectively cut Poland from access to Baltic.
The statement about is, of course, false as it is insulting towards the Poles. During the last meeting with the German General Staff of Wehrmaht and SS, Hitler specifically told his generals that his main objective is a total extermination of Polish nation and that the “corridor” is only a pretext. “If there was no corridor, I would find another pretext” – Hitler said.
Reichwehra’s chief Adm. Canaris was so horrified with the vision of an unspeakable barbarity Hitler was preparing for Poland that he wrote a transcript from that meeting and managed to smuggle it to Britain where it was, OBVIOUSLY, completely ignored.
Bobrovinczky’s statement illustrates also a hostility towards Poland prevailing within Orban’s circles. It is the more reprehensible considering the historical alliance and friendship between Poland and Hungary dating the middle of fourteen Century.
In 1956, during the tragic Budapest uprising the Poles were the only people giving up blood in masse for their Hungarian friends that were being butchered by the Soviets.
Also, few years ago, when Orban fought in election for the position of Hungarian Prime Minister, great number of Polish nationalists flew to Budapest to give Orban a support.
Unfortunately, it looks like Polish Hungarian “friendship” has become a one-way street.
Bobrovinczki’s anti Polish statement illustrates how deeply Orba’s regime is in Putin’s pocket.
        Regards – Bogdan

        1. It is amazing that Polish nationalists would support Orban. But then, American nationalists are also fooled. And Adm. Canaris was a great hero, who tried to stop Hitler. In fact, he may have been the reason Hitler lost the war.

          1. Bogdan Jodkowski Avatar
            Bogdan Jodkowski

Thank you, Jeff. It was the time when Orban was perceived in all Polish conservative circles as a genuine conservative as well, a reformer and a true patriot. The leadership of the Law and Justice party was following him closely when building Polish own program of social and political reforms, in particular, in respect to his commitment to rebuilding the Hungarian family.
However, the relations begun to sour very quickly when Orban had brazenly taken Putin’s side following the initial Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014. During Orban visit in Warsaw, the chairman of the Polish Law and Justice party refused to meet Orban in person.

thanks for answering me. I asked about Antonescu because I thought he was an impediment to Moscow’s dominance over Romania and the alliance with Hitler was without options since the allies couldn’t help at that time and Olavo de Carvalho shared here in Brazil that the Second World War was created by Stalin and that Hitler invaded Russia because he realized that Stalin was about to invade Europe. This story is in the book: The Chief Culprit: Stalin’s Grand Design to Start World War II Paperback – March 15, 2013.

Do you agree with Olavo de Oak’s view of the Second World War? He said that you are the best political analyst in the USA and I agree I have a book of yours in which he recommended “the fool is his enemy” antonescu killed Jews unfortunately and he paid for it but his objective was not to try to keep Romania neutral and free of communism? like finland and spain? Wasn’t that the real reason he was executed because he was hindering communism in Romania?
In Brazil there is a private institution called Brasil Parallel which was founded by 3 students of Professor Olavo de Carvalho and they put Orban as a conservator (I believe they are just being deceived) in a documentary as if he was anti-globalist and pro-conservative
I don’t believe that but here is the video I assure you that the Brazilian right is falling for this lie unfortunately here is the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTWtoOPJqn4
Are you Protestant? If so, what denomination?
I’m also grateful to God, even though Brazil is Catholic, I’m happy that America is a Protestant country whose Christian Jewish morality still prevents evil in the world. God bless America and the world!

    1. I am familiar with Viktor Suvorov’s work on Stalin’s responsibility for the Second World War. This idea actually originated in a German book by Ernst Topitsch titled “Hitler’s War.” I believe it is an important insight into the origins of the war.

Right now I actually don’t know if Trump is really as beholden to his many Pro-Russian freakazoid advisors as we feared. Elon is getting removed from the White House and must setup shop across the street, and now has to report to the Chief of Staff. No more Elmo butting in on calls. Russian propagandists are already enraged at Trump over his statements about Russia, the 1 million dead, and Trump stating that Ukraine is ready to make a deal, but that Russia–which is suffering tremendous loss of life and economic damage–must come to the table or face crippling sanctions.

With statements like those I begin to wonder whether it matters who Trump has on the team, and perhaps Trump being Trump has a stronger common sense than we thought. Would the Trump making these statements agree to such a ludicrous plan as letting Russkies vote in Ukrainian elections? Especially when Ukraine will naturally refuse?

For the first time in a long time I have hope that things might work out well. But we’ll see.

    1. Trump is unpredictable.

    2. Trump’s comments about Russia are hopeful, but it’s hard to know how much weight to give them since he’s been all over the place on Ukraine. From what Jeff writes, it sounds like Ukraine is not even invited to participate in Trump’s summit with Russia, and that’s not a good sign. The peace blueprint outlined by Jeff’s source is even worse. If the new administration doesn’t come to understand that crippling Russia is more important than a (temporary) stop to the fighting, the US could force Ukraine into accepting a bad deal that only hurts NATO collective security in the long-run. In terms of basic morality, it should be obvious to everyone who’s not a Russian shill that Russia needs to be punished for what it did, the West can’t just freeze the conflict and go back to business as usual, or even worse reward Russia with a vote in Ukrainian politics. Also, the US could lose a lot of credibility with smaller East European NATO members if it ends up selling out a country that fought so hard to be free from Russian control, and the effects of that on the alliance could be unpredictable. I hope the right people prevail in persuading Trump.

      1. So much is at stake here, it is hard to imagine anything of greater importance.

  14. Mr. Nyquist,

Is it possible for you, Jimmy from Brooklyn, Trevor Loudon, Nevin Gussack, and Johnny to arrange a series of informal Anti-Communist presentations from a Golitsyn perspective to be presented to Lt. Col. Mathew Lohmeier through back channel contacts?
We know that Lt. Col. Lohmeier is a committed anti-communist And Now he is back from the dead.

    https://matthewlohmeier.com/matthew-lohmeier-named-under-secretary-of-the-air-force/

    https://matthewlohmeier.com/from-the-news-regarding-matts-selection-for-pentagon-position/

    1. Yes, we would be happy to talk with Lohmeier. I read his book a few years back and thought he was very brave. Is he still in the military?

      1. Lohmeier is no longer active duty Space Force. He expects to soon have a Civilian Air Force position. Lohmeier does not understand Golitsyn and he supports Russia’s version of the Ukraine War. Lohmeier has shown a willingness to pursue and acknowledge the truth which is commendable.

        1. Lohmeier did show a predilection for certain conspiracy related theories.

  15. Regarding Canada, the ironic part is that in the last few months there was a lot of coverage of Chinese political infiltration, and even parliamentary hearings on the issue. But now with Trump’s insulting comments about annexing Canada, all that fear of China has been transformed into fear and anger at the US. Like you said, strategic realities are being forgotten in a tit-for-tat war of words. Moreover, talk of annexing countries by force only invites unfavorable comparisons to Russia and China. Canadian conservatives have tended to look favorably on Trump and the MAGA movement, but now Trump’s threats make it difficult for Canadian patriots to be pro-US. Hopefully the kerfuffle will die down in a couple of weeks without any permanent damage to Canada-US relations. But this goes to show that not every outrageous comment by Trump will have a positive effect (eg like getting NATO countries to commit more to defense spending), and someone needs to keep his ego in check and remind him that not everything he says is brilliant.

The same thing with Trump’s comments about Greenland. The Scandinavian countries just got burned by Russia cutting the undersea cables in the Baltic. They have every reason to cooperate with the US to push Russia and China out of the Arctic. And what does Trump do? He makes insulting comments to push Denmark away.

And MAGA politicians are joining in. House Republicans just introduced a bill authorizing Trump to negotiate with Denmark for the purchase of the territory. The only problem is that Greenland can’t be purchased. It’s a self-governing country within the Kingdom of Denmark, with its own parliament and the right to self-determination. Currently none of Greenland’s parties support the idea. So all that Trump and MAGA Republicans are doing by pushing ahead with this is playing into the stereotype of the ugly American. The only beneficiaries of a rift between the US and its allies will be the Communist Bloc.

I come back about your fabulous sentence: “Communism is cannabilism.” It’s catchy and means a lot of things.
As we say in linguistic, communism is cannabilism in literal and figurative sense.
It steals our inventions and it kills ( eats) people, even by forcing them to eat each other. You’ve got 2 examples amount thousands.
The “Grand bond en avant”, the Big jump (1958-1962) with Mao with starvation and in Russia, you’ve got an emblematic example: the Nazimo island. During 1933, 6000 koulaks and other Russians had been deported to this place and they were forcing to eat the dead people to survive.
But worst, communism stole our health ( china virus) and our soul by replacing our faith by the marxism- leninism as you explained in your article about Staline.

    https://www.kyivpost.com/post/45935

    1. It’s funny how Trump’s threats have riled up the Russian media. But Trump’s tough talk to Russia may not be that tough. He’s only threatening crippling sanctions so that Russia will come to the table. But of course Putin will come to the table, a deal is what he wanted all along (see below). So the question is what does Trump consider to be an acceptable deal. Russia will demand at a minimum, a say in Ukrainian politics, the lifting of sanctions, and restoration of normal trade relations. The only thing Trump’s been consistent on is saying the war must end, which Russia could technically do without conceding anything of value (especially since the war is going bad for them right now anyway). Real tough talk would be telling Russia that the best deal is no deal, but I haven’t heard Trump’s team say anything like that.

Now Putin is flattering Trump’s ego and saying he’s open to making a deal with the US. Like Nevin said, Russian media = bad cop, Putin = good cop. (delete the spaces to make the link work)

What are we to make of the Trump Administration’s insistence that Ukraine mobilize 18-25 year-olds? Jake Broe makes a good point that this is not a ‘death sentence’ as many Ukrainians fear, since these men can be mobilized in non-combat support roles or made to work in factories. Jean Robin just said the US halted all military aid to Ukraine pending an audit, but Nevin noted that Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan are exempted from the 90 day ban on foreign aid, so which one is true? Even if the flow of supplies is continuing, is it enough to equip new mobilized divisions? The Ukrainians have been complaining for years that what they’ve been getting is not enough, so what’s the point of mobilizing more men if there’s no equipment. So far Trump has only threatened to give Ukraine more weapons as a way to get Russia to the table, but there’s no clear indication he’s serious about it. There’s also talk of reforming Ukraine’s military command to bring it up to NATO standards, but with Western equipment being in such short supply, how would that work? Jeff, what do your contacts in Ukraine say about these issues?
      https://x.com/bctallis/status/1882412960401752468

Urging NATO members to get up to 3% defense spending is good in the long-run, but the West needs time to catch up to Russia and China. The best way buy time is to hurt Russia and China when they’re vulnerable, not give them a lifeline.

      1. Laura: You are exactly right. And the Russian mobilization of young men need not even be effective for the Ukraine War. It may have another war in view. A war against America.

  22. Mr. Nyquist,

The road to peace in Ukraine requires abandonment of frantically searching for a Deal. War is not a Monty Hall Let’s Make A Deal game show. The Trump Administration needs to summon the fighting spirit of Generals Grant and Patton and enable Ukraine to defeat Russia in Ukraine according to Jonathan E. Sweet and Mark C. Toth.

    https://www.kyivpost.com/opinion/45699

  23. Mr. Nyquist,
What will it take for people to see through Putin’s LIES? Putin promotes himself as an angel of peace and light. Putin has mastered the art of Prestidigitation. He practices the Performance Art of implementing Vanishing Truth. Truth…Now You See It…NOW YOU DON’T.
“Ukrainian Presidential Administration Chief of Staff Andriy Yermak highlighted on January 24 that Putin aims to negotiate “the fate of Europe without Europe” and “Ukraine without Ukraine.”[15] Putin’s insistence on minimizing or eliminating Ukraine’s role in negotiations about Ukraine’s future blatantly disregards Ukraine’s sovereignty and attempts to elevate Russia to the role of a global power while marginalizing some Western allies in an attempt to weaken the wider NATO alliance.”
    https://www.understandingwar.org/backgrounder/russian-offensive-campaign-assessment-january-24-2025

    1. Trump should simply tell Putin, “We don’t stoop to negotiate with murderers, criminals, and terrorists. Since you fit all three classifications, you should consider yourself lucky for even this response. The only way the war in Ukraine ends, is by Russia getting the hell out of all territory you have taken from Ukraine. We will be arming and supplying Ukraine as much as possible. There will be no further discussion between us. Ever.”

Then, do everything he can to strengthen our military, undermine Russia and China, and aid Ukraine and strengthen our alliances.

      1. Yes.

It truly hits home with me as I have 2 kids, well adults now…22 and 19 but their generation scares me…here is my comment on Nevin’s piece…

It truly concerns me of what our own youth and the younger generation in America thinks and opines in support of totalitarian regimes. We have already raised a generation that know nothing of 911, much less our own history before that, courtesy the Communist sympathizers via elementary school teachers and certainly Marxist college professors nowadays.

Dear gskasmar100, if Trump abandons Ukraine, it shall be not only be the most reprehensible act of betrayal America has ever committed but it will also be the biggest act of a strategic miscalculation and stupidity that will strike back at the US and Trump himself like a proverbial boomerang. We have every reason to believe that the heroic resistance of Ukraine against the neo-Bolshevik aggression, at least, postponed the Chinese/Russian plans to attack America itself with the massive thermonuclear strike.
Mr. Nyquist has written extensively about that scenario, however, this is also the inevitable conclusion that should be drawn by any intelligent human being with, at least, two functioning grey cells.
It is hard to listen to and read about the constant hysterical winging of American quasi-Conservatives about allegedly gigantic amount of financial resources America has allocated to Ukraine.
I wrote about this in the past, but it is worthy to make a small comparison between the US and Poland; Currently Poland is spending almost 5% of her GDP on helping Ukraine in various aspects while America has allocated a mere 0,2%, some twenty-five time less than Poland, in relative terms. And this on top of 4% of GDP Poland is spending on her defense. And this is being done by the country that is still recovering from the ravages of WW2 and Communism. There are also plans to increase the military spending to 5%. In the light of this, the American effort is just pathetic.
I cannot stop marveling; All those super rich guys that surround Trump and the BIG GUY himself can easily afford any kind of super-duper computer with the so called “Artificial Intelligence” for ten or even hundred million bucks that should provide them with an objective view of the international political and military theatre and should tell them all: “WRONG WAY! GO BACK!” in respect to their plans towards Ukraine. And yet, they seem to know and understand NOTHING!
How come that such an obscure, accidental, perfunctory and chaotic historian and strategic armchair analyst armed with an old slow computer like myself is capable of connecting the “dots” while the BIG GUY is wading ever deeper into the sewer of his own ignorance while having to his disposal a hundred-twenty-billion-dollar security apparatus with HUMINT, DIGINT, spy satellites, AI, or whatever, you name it.
Perhaps, it is still a NATURAL INTELLIGENCE and something like a poetical approach needed and not some rubbish “AI” (garbage in, garbage out) to grasp the complexities of the modern politics.
But, most probably, this the result of an old-fashioned ARROGANCE that makes impossible for an individual to look at himself critically and change his or her ways,
And there is no doubt that Trump and his entire cohort, with all their brilliance in making money is ARROGANT.
If this is a case, we are in trouble indeed.
      Regards – Bogdan

  27. Jeff, not sure if can comment, are you interested on doing an interview with David Dilley who used to work for the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), he uses a different methodology and is also warning about a Grand Solar Minimum as well

    1. Sure.

      1. Dear Jeff, I have just finished your conversation with Prof. Zharkova. I didn’t understand that much from her, otherwise, excellent presentation. However, at the end, Zharkova has apparently confirmed that the Sun is being pulled from its regular rotation because of the combined gravitational forces of great planets.
Am I right in my observation?
I read her article in 2022 in which she wrote about that irregular rotation of the Sun and that the Sun was rotating eccentrically.
In your original conversation with David DuByne in 2022 David was pretty unequivocal about the link between the alignment of the giant planets and the irregularities in the Solar activity which also resulted in the beginning of the Grand Solar Minimum.
I’ve made this observation about the link between the planets and GSM a bit earlier, in 2020 when I saw the video suggesting that we were facing the GSM.

        https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhNfOZ6YLbc

Your conversation with David DuByne seemingly confirmed my own observations.

The link between the alignment of the giant planets and the incoming Solar minimum is something that keeps puzzling me constantly and at the same time makes me rather horrified of that scenario.

Few months ago, I wrote an extensive essay on your website in respect to my posts about that subject being systematically deleted from various YouTube channels and I have some prof that other commenters have their posts deleted as well.

One of our friends by the pen-name Dal who appears on your website occasionally made an argument to me that the combined mass of the giant planets is too small to make any impact on the Solar activity and I almost bought his argument but the fact that my posts were being systematically deleted proved that something was wrong and that perhaps I was right.

As I mentioned before, I had also written the set of letters to our own Australian conservative political and public figures about the incoming Grand Solar Minimum, however, all my letters were completely ignored.
What, THE BLOODY HELL, can the good and knowledge people do to make those morons aware of the incoming horror?

Here is an interesting article outlining what may lie ahead for the year 2025 from a Ukraine point of view.
    https://www.kyivpost.com/opinion/46121

  31. Mr. Nyquist,
This extract from Shawn Ryan’s interview of Pete Hegseth suggests Pete Hegseth’s views regarding Vladimir Putin and the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Hegseth’s views seem to be provide military equipment and supplies to defend Ukraine; BUT NO American Armed Forces in Ukraine.
Extract from Pete Hegseth’s Shawn Ryan interview:

“…during the Shawn Ryan conversation, Hegseth was asked if he were concerned about nuclear war. His initial answer was, “Yes, in a general sense I guess.”

“But then Hegseth went on: “I just found over inflated from the beginning this idea that Vladimir Putin’s attack on Ukraine was going to lead to nuclear war, or war across the [European] continent. I’ve always felt from the beginning…this feels like Putin’s give-me-my-shit-back war…I [this time meaning Putin] feel like you’ve [the U.S. and NATO] been pushing pretty hard and we used to have the former Soviet Union and we’re pretty proud of that and Ukraine was a part of it, and all these other countries [i.e. Belarus, Georgia]. And now I [Putin] want my shit back, and I think I’m at the right time where I’m powerful enough to do it.”

Hegseth went on: “You’re [the U.S. and NATO] not quite on my border yet, and Biden’s AWOL [absent without leave] so I’m[Putin] going for it. And just as I did under my minor incursion under Obama, I got what I could, I got Crimea. Now I waited under Trump and now I’m going to get more.”

Hegseth went on about hearing from friends that Putin would then go all the way to Poland. But, said Hegseth, “I think he [Putin] knows enough to know he’s probably not going much further than Ukraine. And I don’t think he’s a suicidal maniac who’s hell-bent on bringing on Armageddon to nuclear warfare.”

As for the current situation, Hegseth said, “If Ukraine can defend themselves from that [meaning Russian invaders], great. But I don’t want American intervention driving deep into Europe and making him [Putin] feel like he’s so much on his heels that he does have to [use nuclear weapons], because early on [during the Russian Ukraine invasion] he was talking about nukes, if you remember.”

His other concern, Hegseth said, was “Iran having nuclear weapons. And that was always a bright line for us because nuclear weapons in the hands of radical Islamists, whether Sunni stripe or Shia stripe, who believe their martyrdom rhetoric, the extent to which they do, changes the whole calculation.” Hegseth went on. “Like if al-Qaeda had a nuke, what would they do with it? They’d use it.”

Then, reverting to Iran: “Because the mullahs in Iran, in Tehran – do they really believe that, you know, 70,000 martyrs in Iran is worth the destruction of Israel? I don’t know, but should we find out? Or that destruction of the United States or a major American city. I’ve taken very seriously for a long time this idea that…we can’t tolerate an Iranian bomb because I think Islamists with [a nuclear] bomb is different than Communists with [a nuclear] bomb…but for different reasons.”
